“Maria was great with courage. She was very quick to respond to my last minute booking request for a stay over the holidays and took pictures every day. Would definitely recommend and I plan on booking with them again”

“Crystal and her family are so loving to our Lila! We truly appreciate all the pictures and messages about Lila during her stay! We know Lila is in good hands whenever we are away. Thank you!”

“We are so grateful to have found Terry! While my husband and I were on vacation, we had incredible peace of mind knowing that Rowan was being so well cared for. Terry sent daily morning updates along with pictures, and we looked forward to them every day. It was such a comfort to see that Rowan was happy, healthy, and having a great time while we were away. Terry also took Rowan on daily walks and gave her plenty of attention and care. In fact, she enjoyed her time so much that she even cried a little when it was time to leave! That says everything about the wonderful bond they built during her stay. We highly recommend Terry to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and communicative pet sitter. We will absolutely be using him again in the future!”

“Richard was so calm and my dog did so well with him on her first time away from home. He was very responsive and gave me all the updates I requested. It was a positive experience for both me and my dog and will definitely use him again for overnight booking needs.”

“Mindy and her husband were fantastic sitters for us! She is a great communicator, we received lots of photos and videos, and our girls were super happy while in her care.”

“John and Erika were great! Made me feel at ease leaving my fur baby with them. Sent me photos during his day, so I knew he was happy and in good hands. Would recommend and will definitely use in the future!”

“We loved leaving the boys with Jenica. They were very well cared for and we received a lot of pictures from their stay. I love that her family has no pets of their own. My boys were the center of attention the whole time they were there.”

“Linda was wonderful! Her home was clean and beautifully kept and her yard was perfect and safe. She's great and prompt with communication, sent a pic every day with an update, and great with our senior dog who was in need of more care than a younger dog, needing meds, diapers, and a watchful eye (unfortunately his nerves gave him a bad stomach one night and she had a lot of yucky clean-up in the middle of the night but was very kind about it and concerned for him) . She was kind and comfortable both with me and my dog. I could tell she's been doing this a while! If you want a doggie grandma, call Linda! Ps: she has 2 dogs, one big/tall (younger) one and one small (senior dog). My dog is social so he was fine with them. They're sweet.”
“Simba loves to stay with Bridgette. I feel 100% comfortable leaving him with her as she is so attentive and friendly. We receive many updates along with videos and pictures. I highly recommend Bridgette for your sitting needs.”

“Glenda took wonderful care of our dog Levi while we were away! She was attentive, easy to communicate with, and clearly great with dogs. We loved getting updates and knowing Levi was in such good hands. Highly recommend Glenda!”

“Tiffany is wonderful! She took such great care of my two tiny dogs (3lb & 5lb)! I am always extra nervous about leaving them with others because of their tiny size but I was happily surprised to see the cutest pictures of them getting along great with her dog! They were not as anxious and shaky to leave like they usually are. I was surprised to see that too! Tiffany is super responsive and very kind. She treated them like her own and even though shes further away for me I will definitely book with her again! Definitely recommend her for small doggos!”
“Blanca was a fabulous dog sitter! She watched both my lab and boxer while we were out of town for 5 days. She sent frequent updates and pictures. Would definitely recommend and use again. Thanks Blanca!”
“Assenett and her family were absolutely wonderful to our little Buddy! Not only did they take care of the basic needs but also took him for walks, played with him, and sent pictures of whatever they were doing throughout the day for five days! We communicated every day and it gave my family and me such peace of mind. We're so thankful for her and highly recommend her!”

“Absolutely wonderful! Aimee and her family are so warm and welcoming and took great care of our little Gingy! They treated her like their own and she left with new friends. I will definitely book Aimee again!”

“I absolutely have no worries when we leave our Lucy with Catherine. Lucy is always sad when she leaves all her friends while in Catherine's care. Highly recommend, nice big yard, caring environment, always lots of fur friends.”

“Allison and Nicholas are wonderful. My pups were very comfortable and relaxed. It was their first time away from me and I am so glad that they were the once taking care of them. ❤️❤️❤️”
“I want to gatekeep Jennifer so bad because she's so amazing! My dog slept for hours after I picked her up. Jennifer kept me informed which kept me at ease on vacay. Her communication is definitely 5⭐”

“DeAnna is probably the sweetest and most gentle person I’ve ever met. I had to have my apartment fumigated and I left my cats with her for two nights and she was so warm and understanding the entire process. She sent me pictures and gave me updates and every interaction with her was so professional and pleasant. I highly recommend her, as she made an event that was stressful for me a LOT easier. 10/10!”

Maria was absolutely amazing with my dog, Layla! She kept me updated the entire stay with lots of photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Blanca did an excellent job of caring for Rudy! She kept me updated on his daily activities with texts and photos. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
