“Staci was awesome. We have a 4 year old lab, and he is a big baby, so we knew having her kids around to give him attention, he would love. She gave us photo updates and text updates regularly. She administered medication to him for his allergies, which was left up to her discretion if he needed it or not. She was amazing to work with, and worked around our schedule for drop off and pick up as well. We will definitely be using staci again in the future!”

“Finally, I feel comfortable leaving my dog behind when I go out of town! My dog Brandy was born in a puppy mill situation and therefore, not properly socialized and struggles with IBD. Every time I have boarded her in the past, I bring home a sick , unhappy dog . This was definitely not the case when I left her with Hugh! Hugh is extremely attentive and accommodating to my dog's needs and followed our routine/schedule. It was clear to me that she was very much at ease and happy to be there. I very much appreciated the daily updates and pictures that Hugh provided.”

“Nana was amazing with Koda and kept me updated constantly with the most adorable photos. Koda seemed to love his stay and being able play with her pups the whole time. 100% would recommend and will reach out to Nana again when I need a sitter!!”

“Our plans were ruined but Kathy was extremely flexible. She has a beautiful home setup for dogs. My dogs absolutely loved her backyard. I feel extremely comfortable leaving my doggies with Kathy for any period of time.”

“They were very accommodating. We were happy with the care our mini schnauzer received. This was only the third time we’ve ever left him in the care of others so was a bit nervous, but all went well. Would recommend and would definitely use their services again in the future.”

“Julie was absolutely awesome! After our recent loss of our oldest fur baby I was especially stressed about leaving our 2 great Danes for a week while we went out of the country. From the moment I met julie I was completely comfortable and knew she would take great care of Zeke and Cece. She updated us with tons of pictures and responded within minutes any time I texted her. The pups were happy and healthy when we picked them up and when we got home they were so worn out from playing that they pretended to be rugs the whole evening and night. We will definitely ask Julie to take care of our pups any time we need a sitter. Thank you!!! :)”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for my Pomeranian, "Lulu". From the moment we met, it was clear she genuinely loves what she does—and it shows in every detail. She was incredibly professional, sending daily updates and adorable photos that kept me completely at ease while I was away. "Lulu" was clearly happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which speaks volumes about the attention and affection she received. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pet like family. Thank you, Gladys, for taking such amazing care of our "Lulu"!”

“Shelby was amazing with our Gumby, she sent videos and pictures of him everyday. updating us on his status and gave our Gumby a great time. I would Recommand her to anyone and anyone!”
“Syrah is absolutely amazing! She sent us close 7 photos of our dog a day and was extremely proactive. We will be using her services in the future and we Highly recommend her to anyone! She treats every dog like her own and you can trust that your dog will be happy with her!”

“Five stars. We highly recommend them. You can tell they definitely love dogs which gave us a lot of comfort and trust in them with Odin. We are so grateful that they helped us out with minimal notice when we had to leave town quickly. You know they’re the right sitter for your pet when your pet runs up to their door and whines for a day after we pick him up.”

“Ann paid very special attention to our dogs and made sure to keep us updated multiple times every day! The dogs were brought on multiple walks/play sessions a day, and I felt comfortable on my trip knowing that someone capable and caring was watching my pups :)”

“Kelli was great with our doggies. She communicated really well and was really good at giving our dogs time to adapt to her home. She sent pictures during their stay and was great with them.”

“Booked last minute with Julia and what an absolute gem. She was quick to respond and took great care of Penny. Will definitely rebook when we are in town.”

“Glenda took wonderful care of our dog Levi while we were away! She was attentive, easy to communicate with, and clearly great with dogs. We loved getting updates and knowing Levi was in such good hands. Highly recommend Glenda!”

“John took such great care of Luffy & Ivy! It’s been such a long time that they were in great care and we were rest assured with all updates John sent daily. We highly recommend his services!”

“Christine took my 15-year-old (sometimes cantankerous) dog, Lola on very short notice on a holiday weekend. She did great and sent multiple pictures that showed how much fun Lola was having. For a pup that sometimes gets separation anxiety, she greeted Lola with great energy and when I picked her up, it was clear Lola had a great time. Would recommend.”

“Absolutely wonderful! Mary treated Bella like her own and took such good care of her. Bella came home clean, happy, and full of positive energy. It was clear she enjoyed every moment. I felt completely at ease leaving Bella with her and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!”

“Rebooked with Bridgette for the second time and it was the best as always . Both my doggies loves coming back to their house . Bridgette is very accommodating and pleasure to talk to .”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
