“Katelyn did a wonderful job taking care of our golden retriever and 3 cats. She came to our house for 3 visits a day and gave our dog walks, played with the kitties, and took care of their food and cleaning. They were all happy and calm when we returned and the house was in order, which was great. I also found Katelyn to be great with communication around any questions she had and she kept us updated by text and with pictures on how our pets were doing each day. I hope to use Katelyn again in the future!”

“Jessica watched my senior cat while I was on vacation and was fantastic! She sent pictures and was punctual with her visit times! I highly recommend Jessica and will use her for future visits :)”

“My dogs were very well cared for with Jessica! She was communicating constantly while we were gone. Such a relief to know the dogs were comfortable in their own home while we left.”

“Wendy was amazing with our crew. She was prepared for our meet and greet, and went above and beyond to adjust her schedule for us. She’s been an absolute life saver for our family and all our last minute needs. The pets adore her and we feel safe leaving them in her hands. We couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Reliable, friendly, and caring are the pillars of Tristen’s petting sitting approach. We are so grateful that we can depend on her while we are away. I would highly recommend Tristen to look after your furry loved ones!”

About: I have several years of experience working with all kind of four-legged friends! I’ve done overnight stays on several occasions, and am comfortable with any kind of animals. I am pet-CPR certified and currently have a senior dog, have experience bottle feeding newborns, administering medication, and have had cats my entire life. I’m currently pursuing an online school course, so I have an open schedule for anything you need me for; daily sitting, overnights, check ins, or walks! I have reliable transportation and availability to care for your house/pets whenever I’m needed. I’m able to read body language (such as signs of discomfort or boredom) to help me better understand what your furry friend needs; and I do so with care and attention.

“Danny was great. She did a great job with Harley. She was on time and always let me know when she was there. She always sent photos in an update on Harley. It was really really great. She will be one that I would like to use again. Really impressed with her responses and her help. She was wonderful.”

About: I’ve been petsitting for my friends and neighbours since I was 12, including administering medication, cleaning messes, housekeeping, and most all other common tasks and chores. If there’s a task you need of me that I don’t have experience in, I’d be glad to learn. As of right now I’m still in school, but after graduation (end of May, roughly) I’ll be available nearly 24/7. It’ll be ideal for me not to be scheduled for boarding on Fridays, but I will, of course, if your schedule calls for it! I absolutely value the trust of my clients and the safety of their pets, and will always do everything I can for them to feel they can leave their home and the pets inside it safe and secure with me.
“Carole is a fantastic dog sitter! Very reliable, communicative, and caring. Our dogs were happy and well taken care of, and we loved getting updates while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Kathrine was outstanding, so calming and kind. Hank was well cared for and comfortable while we were gone. She communicated well. So thankful I found Kathrine! I highly recommend her!”

“Melanie saved us when our house sitter canceled after we had already left town. She stepped in to care for our cat and dog starting that day which was Christmas Eve. She provided full care to the animals and was great at communicating how everything was going at home. She was a true God send.”

“Michael was AMAZING with our cat. She is very shy and Michael was great to just let her do her own thing while making sure she was taken care of. We feel so good about being able to travel and know she is in good hands.”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Penny while I was away. I really appreciated the daily updates and photos—they gave me peace of mind knowing my furry friend was in great hands. Your attention to detail and obvious love for animals made all the difference. I look forward to working with you again in the future!”

“Alex was amazing!! She worked through a few scheduling hiccups with me and took care of my fur babies we so much care... I will for sure work with her again. Thanks l, Alex.”

About: Friends and family have had me dog sit and house sit for their pets a long time. I’m very friendly and responsible and dogs tend to love me! I can be flexible about dates and times and sure you and your pets get quality care. I’m currently a college student and plan to pet sit over the summer to pay for school. I manage a balanced schedule of school and work. If you need me to pet sit, I’m flexible and adaptable with my schedule for your pet’s care. I can guarantee quality care for you and your pet(s)! I have experience in pet care in my clients home. The pets are more comfortable in their usual home environment. Annie is the best! She’s done drop in visits for my kitty while I’m out of town for the holidays the past few years and she puts my mind at ease every time I book. So nice, communicative, and love the pics she sends. My shy kitty loves her. Highly recommend as always!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Double Oak. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
