“Winston had another great stay with Wendy and her family. When I arrived to drop him off, he raced up to their door, very happy/excited to be back. Winston needs lots of cuddles/human companionship and it is clear that he gets his needs met with Wendy and her family. We received daily update photos and he appeared very content when I picked him up. We are so glad to have found a pet sitter who treats Winston so well and we will definitely book with them again!”

About: Hi, my name is Jo and I would love to care for your pet! I have had animals my entire life, but after moving out I don't have my own pets anymore. I do still crave connection with animals and I have consistently offered care to other people's pets through the years. I have experience in professional dog grooming as a Bathing Manager and Groomer's Assistant. I have a regular cat client I check in on in my apartment complex. I have also fostered kittens and cats as well as dogs and puppies. I love animal personalities and find caring for them very rewarding. I understand there are different emotional and physical needs for each pet and I would love to know what your expectations are. Whether your animal loves to play, loves to cuddle, or would like to be left alone, I would be happy to sit, check on them, walk and play with them :). If you have any specific questions about my experience with taking care of animals or my schedule please private message me! Weekends are more flexible, however I can offer more check ins if I am boarding in my own home. I work a standard 8 am - 5 pm schedule in an office setting. Both my home and my job are located in the central Denton area. I prefer to care for your pet in my own home, simply because I cannot drive. I am willing to do overnight weekend visits in your home!
“Haven was great with my dog Oreo! He is a shy dog that can take a bit to become comfortable and Haven did a wonderful job allowing him time to adjust while also keeping us updated on how he was doing while we were away. She was very good with following his needs and definitely cares about the wellbeing and happiness of the pets she takes care of! By the time we picked him up Oreo was fully comfortable and happy to be there!”

“Absolutely wonderful sitter!!! Took care of my dog so well, and he loves going over! He’s always so excited to see Nancy and her family!! Will definitely be rebooking when needed again!!! Thank you!”

“It was our first time leaving our senior dog and puppy with someone other than family or friends. Catherine and Heidi were so kind and took care of them like their own. They sent plenty of pics and honestly I don’t think our girls wanted to leave. They had the best time playing and cooling off in their pool. Best part they slept for an entire day after we picked them up. Tired pups are happy pups! Thank you both!”

“Arya and Koda had a blast at Srini’s and Surya’s house. They are very caring and super friendly hosts. Shared a lot of photos and videos during the booking which kept us comfortable. Would definitely book with them again.”

“Ashley took great care of our 9 month old large, high-energy puppy, Ralphie. She kept us updated and sent lots of pictures of him having fun and being loved on. She was extremely accommodating. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone and will be requesting her again the next time we need to go out of town.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Maria and her family took such great care of Luna and Oliver, sent regular updates and pictures, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was out of the country. It was obvious they were well loved and cared for. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!”

“The nicest people, who definitely went above and beyond for my guy. They sent pictures and kept me updated on how he was doing! I know he is in good hand with these two.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
