Madison was great! She took such good care of my elderly German Shepard, Claire. Claire has a pretty complicated routine, and usually struggles when I travel But this time I am not sure that Claire missed me at all. I will certainly rebook with her next time I travel.

Magee was EXTRAORDINARY. Having her day sit our fur babies was the most comforting choice I could have ever made. Our pets absolutely adored her and felt safe with her around ❤️. Her communication skills were top notch which gave me an additional layer comfort while away. Please consider booking Magee for any future pet sitting needs! Can’t wait to work with her again!

Just as last time, Shannon was a fantastic sitter. She even walked the pups when it was cold and wet, which I would not have done! She sent pictures daily of all the critters and snuggled with them during the storm that hit while we were gone. All in all, I was very pleased with the service and would schedule her again.

I can’t say enough good things about June. I haven’t left my cat, who I consider my baby, alone in over two years. She’s become very attached to me lately so I was a bit anxious with leaving her with anyone. Before committing, I met with June and after a good meeting, my fears were completely gone. I couldn’t have found a better person to take care of my Baba. June is a very responsible and caring person. She sent photos my cat daily and I could clearly see that my cat did NOT miss me. LOL. When I returned home, my house was better than when I left. Spotless and she even changed the sheets, washed them and made the bed. An added bonus, she knew exactly when I would be home and had the garage door open so all I had to do was pull in. I couldn’t have been happier. I HIGHLY recommend her to take care of your pet. I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

Cass took amazing care of our pups! She is our go to person anytime we need someone to watch them. She truly loves our girls like family and totally love her too! Only reason not to recommend her is making her too busy to take of our pups. :)

It has been such a joy working with Leigh. This was the first time leaving my Wolfies in the care of someone other than me or my husband. With two young pups I was really nervous. But that all faded before the sitting even started. She is professional, and so caring for my pups. With her at my house I never thought twice if they were ok. Even when a accident happened. She said all was fine and I knew in my gut I could trust her. I have a since of freedom now that I have Leigh to help with my Wolies. So Thankful for her!

About: Hi! We’re a pet-loving couple who believes every dog and cat deserves a safe, happy, and fulfilling life. With years of hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, we’re confident, compassionate, and genuinely love what we do. One of us works from home full-time and the other is stay-at-home so your pet will always have company! Our fully fenced yard is perfect for safe outdoor fun, whether that’s soaking up the sun, wrestling with other pups, or chasing after a ball. We’re flexible, attentive, and happy to match your pet’s unique energy and routine. Caring for animals isn’t just something we do, it’s truly our passion. We’ve raised puppies, cared for senior pets, and share our home with two playful cats, a sweet Aussie, and a lovable Corgi, so we know every animal has their own personality. Your pet will be treated like family, because that’s exactly what they are to us. 🏡 Drop-In Visits With both of us available, one of us can focus fully on your pet while the other helps out with light household tasks if needed. We’re happy to bring in packages, take the trash out or in, water plants, or tidy up as requested. Your pet gets quality attention and you get peace of mind knowing everything at home is taken care of! 🐕 Dog Walking Whether your pup needs a run or a longer walk to burn off energy, we’ve got it covered. We walk at your dog’s pace and let them sniff. Walks are a mix of exercise and mental enrichment, because we know a good walk is about more than just steps. As fully remote workers, we’re able to care for your pet no matter what schedule they have or the times you need us to drop in. We provide constant updates so that you feel comfortable while you’re away from your pet. Pets under our care are never left alone, and we make sure all interactions are positive and that everyone is having a good time. We treat each pet with the same love, patience, and care we give our own.

Emily (Paige) was soooo great with our dogs Harley and Prince! I’m usually one of those super paranoid dog moms, and I did not feel uneasy or worried one single time. She was super communicative and sent tons of pictures & updates of our babies! I also let her know not to worry about cleaning any bed sheets or towels, and when I got home, everything was cleaned and folded neatly on the bed. She also left a new bag of treats on the counter with a little note :) We will for sure be using her again in the future! Thanks for taking such great care of our babies, Paige!!

Isabell did such an amazing job watching our two dogs. She was super communicative, proactive and was even nice enough to help us out with an extra morning drop in due to our evening flight being canceled, which delayed us from getting back to our pups in the evening as intended. We truly appreciate how attentive and caring she was, and will definitely book again.

About: Hello! My name is Kailey, and caring for dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have grown up surrounded by dogs and have never lived without one. I currently have two dogs of my own, whom I have had since I was young. Spending time with and caring for dogs is one of my greatest passions. I believe they are incredibly loyal, loving companions who deserve patience, attention, and plenty of affection. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, companionship, or simply someone to keep them comfortable while you're away, I am committed to providing the highest level of care. I would love the opportunity to care for your pets and will treat them with the same love, attention, and respect that I give my own. My goal is to make both you and your pets feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for every step of the way. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a wide range of pet care needs throughout the day. I am available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits and am happy to make multiple visits per day if needed. I have many years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs and understand the importance of providing a safe, comfortable, and consistent environment. When caring for pets, I follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, potty breaks, and any other daily needs. I pay close attention to each pet's behavior and well-being to ensure they remain happy and comfortable while their owners are away. If your pet has any special requirements or preferences, I am happy to follow detailed instructions to provide the best possible care.

About: I’m a pet mama to an active Border Collie, and a super chill cat, so I know exactly how to cater to different personalities. Regardless of whether your pet needs a good workout session, or quiet cuddles, I’ve got you covered! Growing up around animals naturally led to years of caring for the pets of family, friends, and neighbors. I'm completely comfortable with specialized care, from strict routines to administering medications if your pet isn't feeling their best. Leaving your fur babies with someone new can be stressful, I know. It’s very important to me that they feel safe, loved, and at ease. I will be patient and compassionate to your pet as I would with mine. My schedule is flexible. I’m happy to hang out with your pet for walks, play time, drop-ins, or last minute requests. Reach out and connect with me, I’m always glad to help out. I understand how important it is for your pet to feel secure in their space. When I visit, I keep things calm and respectful, never rushing or overwhelming your pet. I follow instructions carefully, use positive reinforcement, and ensure your pet is comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I always treat your home and pet's routine with the same respect I’d want for my own.

FAQs for House Sitting - Oak Point

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Oak Point on Rover is $29.97 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,570 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oak Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Point. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
