“Peter and Katie were so amazing with my senior cat Sandy. They were able to watch her overnight on short notice and kept me updated on how she was doing. They left my place perfect and ready for me to come back to!”

“Diego was fantastic with my dogs from start to finish! Can’t say enough about the care and communication from him as I was so nervous to leave my dogs for a work trip and had not established care here in Dallas. Both of my dogs are “special snowflakes” with health and behavior issues and take medications - this was no problem for Diego! They loved him and can’t wait for my next trip.”

“Mario stayed in my home with my two cats for four nights. One of my cats is very friendly and easygoing and the other one is shy and challenging. Mario understood and was patient with my shy cat and was able to keep both of them happy. He sent me an update and photos each night, which was much appreciated.”

“Tiffany made me feel like a family member was watching my dog. He’s extremely high energy and can be a lot for someone else but Tiffany not only did an amazing job taking care of Louie but allowed me to feel like he was actually enjoying his time instead of when I’ve boarded him the past!”

“Hunter is great and my dogs love him. I would highly recommend hunter for anyone that is looking for house sitting. This is ideal for our dogs because they are used to someone being home with them most of the time and at night so I can go on vacation and not worry that my fur babies are stressed rather I know they are in good hands and having a fun time with Hunter!”

“Morgan was wonderful to work with. She took great care of our dogs and house and communicated daily with updates and photos of our pups. We already have plans to use Morgan again in the near future.”

“Hailey was great with our two dogs! She took amazing care of them while we were gone and sent tons of updates and photos. I would definitely trust her with my dogs again.”

“Clover took amazing care of our dogs and house. It was the first time in six years we have left our dogs with a sitter. She kept us updated with how the dogs were and sent pictures. We would boon Clover anytime to take care of our pups again.”

“Shawndreal was absolutely amazing!! I had a good feeling about her just from her profile. But once we met, I knew I had the perfect person for my dog. She kept up with sending lots of pictures of Riley and let me know when she gave him meds and was fed his meals. I knew from the pictures and text that Riley really enjoyed her also. We came home to a tidy house and a very happy dog. We are already planning our next trip and will for sure be calling Shawndreal ♥️”

“Megan was awesome with my dog this weekend! She was available so last minute and helped us so much. We received so many pictures and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Megan! I will definitely use her services again in the future!”

“Jessica was AMAZING. Always communicated promptly, sent photos of my pup at each visit, and asked really good questions when setting up her appointment. So grateful for a positive experience. Will definitely use Jessica again.”

“This is the second time we have booked Kyle for in home boarding. He took good care of our dog and was very easy to communicate and coordinate with! We recommend him and will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Chaka was amazing with my girl! She has a special temperament at times and they seemed to get on just fine without me. As long as she is willing I will have Chaka back time and again.”

“Nashi was phenomenal! One of our pups wasn’t feeling well right before we left, and it’s always difficult to leave when something like that is going on. Nashi stepped right in and took excellent care, provided updates, and calmed my worried mind. We absolutely recommend Nashi and will be requesting her care again in the future for our pups, too.”

“Jess was amazing with our dogs and home! I appreciated that I could be away and not be concerned because she was taking care of them. She was kind, understanding, a great communicator, and would recommend Jess for everyone!”

“Brooke stayed at my apartment with my two senior dogs. Both dogs have significant mobility issues and take medications daily. Brooke did a great job with them and kept me informed so that I could focus on work and not worry about them. Really great human.”
“Oline took such wonderful care of our babies all weekend long! She was very communicative and provided much appreciated updates to us! We would book her again in a heartbeat!!”

About: Lifelong pet owner and caretaker. I’ve been pet sitting for 11 years now! Recently moved to Dallas and looking to build a new furry clientele here :) Accepting dogs and cats, I have equal experience with both. I’m very active and love going for a long walk, let me bring your pup along with me! I work from home and can offer home stays (including overnight) with your pets with around the clock care! Happy to provide additional housesitting services, like watering plants and bringing in the mail. Also available to do drop ins. I thoroughly follow my clients instructions for how to make their pet feel most safe and comfortable. I can crate pets if needed, I can transport them to the vet, and I send daily (or more if requested) updates and photos to clients.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - University Park
Morgan did a great job watching our precious Goldie dog! She spent the night and was there morning, noon and night to let her out and feed her. She sent us daily photos and kept us up-to-date with everything that was going on with Goldie. We would definitely book her again!!

Layne, as always was terrific. We were only disappointed that Rover.com charged us holiday rate for all 10 days for one federal holiday Juneteenth. Not Layne's fault but wanted to let others know this can happen. We only hope he received a lot of that increase because he deserves it. Layne manages Lacey's allergies so well and her new medication and feeding regiment is pretty complicated. We are always confident to leave our 4 year old dog with him. Thanks again Layne.

Just had an amazing week of vacation thanks to Rory ! I never doubted her abilities to take care of my babies or my home while we were gone. She kept us informed daily and was always available to communicate. Our babies were well taken care of and it showed when we walked in the door ! They had been well loved on. We will definitely use Rory again and again !

We are so thankful for Holly. We needed to book a last minute sitter for the weekend, and Holly was so responsive and kind from the very beginning. Our puppy had some tummy issues while we were gone, and Holly communicated so well and provided us with frequently updates throughout the weekend. We felt so comfortable having her care for our pup, and cannot wait to book with her again in the future!

When I came home from my trip, I could tell my dog and cat felt so comfortable, calm, and happy with Cortney while I was away. She'd be great for pets who are anxious or need more specialized care because of her knowledge on dog/cat training and genuine want to connect with animals. She gave me the perfect amount of updates/pictures at the end of every day. Cortney is also a very talented pet portrait artist for anyone lucky enough to see her work!

Yuliana did an outstanding job caring for our golden retriever, Mav, and watching our home while we were away. She sent daily updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing everything was being well cared for. When we returned, Mav was happy, the house was spotless, and it honestly looked cleaner than when we left. We would absolutely book Yuliana again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and attentive pet sitter. Thank you, Yuliana, for taking such great care of both our dog and our home!

FAQs for House Sitting - University Park
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in University Park on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,308 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across University Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred University Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in University Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in University Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in University Park. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
