About: I have been a dog and cat owner my whole life. Now that I am mostly retired I am available to care for your babes when you are unable to. Your place or mine. I volunteer for dog and cat rescues so I have a lot of knowledge and experience. I am retired so I have lots of time to play. I walk in my neighborhood every morning and evening and would love to walk with a friend. I don't currently have any pets of my own so there will be no issues with unfriendly competition. I know how important communication is regarding your pets.
“Nashi was phenomenal! One of our pups wasn’t feeling well right before we left, and it’s always difficult to leave when something like that is going on. Nashi stepped right in and took excellent care, provided updates, and calmed my worried mind. We absolutely recommend Nashi and will be requesting her care again in the future for our pups, too.”

“Alisha was great. Cooperative, communication on point, punctual, followed instructions, sent me pictures. I definitely recommend her and would take her help next time.”

“Leaving our pets behind is never easy, but Diego made the entire experience stress-free. He treated our pet like family and gave them so much love and attention. He even brought them to the park and had a play date with some other friendly dogs! Coming home to relaxed pet and a clean house meant everything to us.”

“Lisa was amazing with my two German Shepherds. The daily updates were great and the daily pictures had the dogs looking happy. Would 100% recommend and I will use again:”

“As always Hunter was amazing. My dogs love him and look forward to seeing him when we go on vacation which makes our time away stress free because we know they are well taken care of and having fun while we are gone.”

“Briana showed up on time and it was obvious she loves dogs. Our two immediately responded positively to her. She made sure the job was understood and kept us informed. She did an excellent job.”

“Yuliana was amazing! Both the cat and dog loved her, and she sent us plenty of pictures keeping us updated on how they were doing. She took care of our home with zero issues. Will be using her again and recommending to everyone”

“Jessica was AMAZING. Always communicated promptly, sent photos of my pup at each visit, and asked really good questions when setting up her appointment. So grateful for a positive experience. Will definitely use Jessica again.”

“Excellent dogsitter! Our dog was happy, well -loved and well attended to. The house was spotless. We will definitely have Clover sit again and would recommend her highly.”

About: I have grown up around dogs my entire life and have always loved caring for animals. My family has had a mix of big and small dogs such as Labs, Rottweilers, Chow Chows and Shelties. We currently have a chihuahua mix and a 3-legged jack Russell. I have experience watching and caring for many of my family members’ and friends’ dogs throughout the years. I’ve also helped my mom take care of cats frequently, so I’m comfortable around both dogs and cats. I understand how important it is to make sure pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I would love the opportunity to provide your pets with the same care and attention I would give my own 2 fur babies back at home :) I recently graduated college and moved to Dallas. I currently work full time remotely. My hours vary from 7-3 or 12-8 depending on the month. Due to being fully remote, watching pets would fit great with my schedule. I currently do not have any pets living with me due to my recent move. However, I frequently take care of my 2 dogs back home. I make sure that they are let out every 2-3 hours and walked at least once a day depending on the weather. They are also fed at the same time everyday to ensure consistency. I make sure to follow any rules set by the owner regarding the animal as well.

“Loveneet did a wonderful job staying with Opie at our home while we were away. He managed to get a normally camera shy dog to pose for some great pics. Highly recommended!”

“Raylon was attentive and communicative the entire time with our senior dog and energetic cat. He was able to swoop in last minute and give 100% to our pets. I would definitely recommend him. Thanks Raylon :)”
“Celeste was amazing and we’d absolutely use her again! We had someone cancel 4 days before our vacation and she was able to step in and even do a meet and greet last minute. Shes a great communicator and we could tell the animals were cared for while we were gone.”

About: I grew up taking care of people’s home, children, plants and animals. I have a lot of experience in taking care of clients and making them comfortable I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet sitting! I’m available throughout the week and can easily accommodate walks, drop-in visits, and extended time with pets. My flexibility allows me to work around each pet’s normal routine and make sure they receive the care, attention, and companionship they need. I care for every pet as if they were my own and always do my best to follow their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any other specific needs. I’m respectful of both the pet and the home, and I make sure to give plenty of attention, love, and companionship. I also prioritize communication and am happy to provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel at ease while they’re away!
“Matthew was amazing! He was prompt, sent updates, and I’m just so happy with how well he took care of my furrbaby. Definitely recommend and I’m glad I found a great sitter for future times.”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 12 years old. Rover clients / pet-care and house sitting have my full attention, and 100% commitment! I am available for whatever routine requirements are currently needed, as scheduling dictates. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and preferences. I’m happy to follow your instructions and keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. It was so nice knowing my baby girl could stay happy and comfortable at home in her own familiar surroundings while I was away! Samantha kept me updated throughout my trip and also took care of my lawn and plants, which was a huge help. I really appreciated having her here and came home to a happy pup. Thanks so much for taking care of everything while I was gone!

First time Hailey house sits for us, she has been awesome. Fantastic communication, she sends tons of pictures and my dog seems so happy and at ease with her. He is a senior dog with a lot of quirks and she seems to get him perfectly. Absolutely recommend her!

Tyler and Jordan are officially the most favorite humans of Nori and Dillon! They responded immediately to our request for in-home house sitting for 2 weeks for our two german shepherds. They provided daily videos and pictures of our fur babies, kept to their kinda complicated feeding and walking instructions, and provided a loving and wonderful sitting experience for our pups. We had a fabulous vacation with the peace of mind Tyler and Jordan gave us. And our house was SPOTLESS when we got back! We love Tyler and Jordan! 1000/10!

Maria was a great sitter! She was responsive, provided updates regularly, and sent pictures during her time with Luna. She has such a calm demeanor, which matched Luna’s personality well. She was flexible and understood all of Luna’s needs. Would definitely book Maria again in the future!

We are once away blown away by Dylan and his care of our pup. Always communicative and letting us know how our dog was doing. Very responsive when we reached out just to check in, super flexible when we changed our booking start and end times, and left our house in better sorts than we did! We refuse to book with anyone else.

Jeannie did such a great job watching my dog on very short notice! She cared for him as if he were her own, took him on walks, and sent me picture updates throughout my time away. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. I highly recommend Jeannie! 🤍

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dallas Downtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dallas Downtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dallas Downtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
