About: I’ve had a lifelong love of dogs and have had several dogs and cats throughout my life. I can take your dog for a walk around the neighborhood, throw the ball around outside, give/apply medication if shown how, and anything else you might need. I work full time from home, so I could come by in the morning, stop by for lunch, and again in the evening if necessary. I can do all the standard things to care for dogs and cats, and can give/apply medication if shown how to before. I can take your dogs on a walk around the neighborhood and play games indoors with your cats.

About: Although I am new to Rover, I have been taking care of animals on the side for friends/family for years. I’m currently live in Uptown Dallas, but back at my families home I have 4 dogs that I’ve raised and trained—three pit bulls I’ve had since they were 8 weeks old, and a little chihuahua. Growing up, I was surrounded by a wide variety of breeds, including golden retrievers, German shepherds, and pitskies (pit bull-husky mixes), so I’m very experienced in caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’ve also had the pleasure of taking care of golden doodles, Great Danes, XL bullies, labs, and smaller breeds, as well as providing senior care for older dogs. Animals are truly a gift, and I absolutely love working with them. I’ll make sure your dog gets the best care, plenty of love, and attention as if they were my own! Message me!! Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine! I work from home so I’m flexible on where I work from and when I take my breaks! This allows me to spend quality time with your dog, providing walks, playtime, and care without any rush. Whether it’s a quick check-in or longer stays, I can ensure your dog gets the attention they need while you’re busy. Although I don’t offer in-home care at my place, I’m dedicated to providing exceptional care for your pets in the comfort of your own home. I understand how important it is to stay connected, so I’ll keep you updated throughout the day with messages, photos, and any details on how your pet is doing. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet is happy, comfortable, and well taken care of while you’re away. You’ll always be aware of their routine, and I’ll follow any specific instructions you provide to ensure everything goes smoothly.
About: Hello, I am so excited to have a new friend in your pet!!! My name is April and I love cats and dogs but I don't have any of my own. I love dog sitting and walking them too. I'm working from home at the moment and getting out to walk a dog is just what I need to keep me sane. I have a few families that I sit for on the regular and the dogs have become like friends. My schedule is pretty flexible so if you have any questions let me know. I have my own vehicle and do not work my regular jobs on the weekdays so this works out perfect for me. Can't wait to meet you and your fur babies and cats.

About: Hi! I’m Michelle, a physician assistant with a lifelong love for animals. Although I don’t currently have pets of my own, I grew up with dogs and have always been surrounded by them. These days, I happily spoil my “pet nieces” whenever I get the chance and have cared for pets belonging to family and friends. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone dependable to check in on them, I’ll provide attentive, compassionate care while following your instructions closely. As a healthcare professional, I’m responsible, detail-oriented, and comfortable administering oral medications if needed. I’ll treat your pet like family and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. As a full-time physician assistant, my schedule varies throughout the month, but I keep my Rover calendar up to date so you always know my availability. On my days off, I have plenty of time for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and quality one-on-one attention. I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits your pet’s routine and will always communicate clearly before each booking. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, and any special needs. As a healthcare professional, I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and attentive to changes in behavior. I’ll also send regular photo and message updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Nicole is amazing! This is the 2nd time she’s watched our cat, Chrissy. She truly spends time and engages with Chrissy. We will absolutely book her the next time we need care for Chrissy.”

About: Hi, I’m Nevin! 🐾 As a proud dog dad to my Great Dane/Lab mix, Bane, I know firsthand that pets are family. I’ve spent my entire life caring for both dogs and cats, and I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s unique personality. Whether your pet loves relaxing on the couch, playing fetch, going on long walks, or burning off energy with a run, I’m happy to match their pace. As an athlete, I have plenty of energy for the pups who need a little extra exercise! I currently live in an apartment, so I offer limited boarding and daycare spots to make sure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. If you reach out in advance, I’m available most days of the week and will do my best to accommodate your schedule. My goal is simple: to treat your furry family members with the same love, patience, and care that I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I’m pretty free through out the day and I’m really an early bird! Most mornings I’m up around 5am walking my pup and would be available anytime after to walk yours too! I stay in an apartment so bane roams freely and comfortably. There’s a dog bed, chew toys, and also a two part cage for bane and another animal if needed.

About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have always been the friend people call when they need an extra hand with their pups! I have experience with everything from puppies still learning their routines to senior dogs who need a little more patience and care, including German Shepherds. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine, help reinforce training, give medications and, of course, make sure they get plenty of walks, playtime and love. I work mostly remotely, so my schedule is pretty flexible for walks, drop-ins and spending time with your dog in their own home. I’m also always happy to do a meet-and-greet first so everyone feels comfortable! I work mostly remotely, so I have a lot of flexibility throughout the day and week. Anika was the best! She did drop-ins to check on my two kitties while I was away for a week, and I couldn’t have asked for someone better. She was very communicative, friendly, and always going above and beyond! The cats loved her (even the shy one), and I’ll definitely be booking her again!

We’re those crazy dog people who never thought we could feel comfortable leaving our dogs—until we found Kelsey! She made it possible for us to go out of town for a wedding, relax, and enjoy the weekend knowing they were in wonderful hands. That peace of mind meant so much to us. We’re so grateful and would happily book with her again!

Blake was really reliable, and took great care of my pet! He checked in on time, sent lots of updates and pictures, and was also available to help at short notice when my flight got delayed. My bunny had major surgery this year so I am always nervous to leave him, but I knew he was in good hands! Highly recommend - thank you, Blake!

Brittnee was the absolute best. This was our first time using Rover and Brittnee was wonderful. She always communicated how the visits went, included photos and kept us in the loop on how our cats were doing. It was a big relief to know Brittnee was taking care of them so well while we were away. Would highly recommend Brittnee to anyone looking for an incredible pet sitter.

After our meet and greet, I knew Abby would be great! She has such a good energy and Dutch picked up on that as well. Abby was punctual with drop ins and responsive. I also appreciated the photos and notes after every visit. My trip was even more enjoyable because I knew my furbaby was in good hands. Thank you so much Abby, we really appreciate it! I would definitely recommend and rebook.

This is the third time Hunter sits our dogs. He is the best sitter. He is kind, polite and very responsive. Our flights were a mess on this trip and he made sure we were covered and our dogs were taken care of. He just gave us the peace of mind we greatly needed. We could not recommend Hunter enough!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
