“Avery was amazing! Incredibly friendly, and my dogs loved her! She helped watch my dogs through drop-in visits, and she was fantastic. Her updates were so thoughtful and consistent, and she exceeded expectations in sending me pictures that helped assured me that my dogs were doing okay. I’ll absolutely be contacting Avery next time I need a dog-sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 5 years, from my own two cats(Rosie and Ferguson) to friends’ and family’s pets whenever they travel. I’ve sat for and walked senior dogs, so I’m patient with slower paces, stiff joints and pets who need a little extra care! I’m also comfortable with high-energy newborn animals who need a little more attention too! I currently have a fairly flexible schedule. I’m available to maneuver around dates and any last minute things that may pop up for you. I care for pets in their own home, where they feel safest. I know your home is your haven, so I respect your space completely. I follow your routine, leave everything as I found it and lock up every time.
“Taylor did a great job taking care of our two cats while we were away for the weekend. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and sent us updates after her visits. It made us feel a lot better knowing they were being checked on and taken care of. We came home to two happy cats and everything was just as we left it. We’d definitely book Taylor again!”

“This is our 5th time having Haylee come take care of my kitties. She is just great with both of the boys. They love her and we are going to keep requesting her services when we go out of town! 🥰😻”

“McKensi was fantastic with our cats while we were aware! We had to book last minute after someone else cancelled, and we are so glad we picked her! The updates she provided were wonderful & she was early each visit! We will absolutely book her for our next trip.”

“Alice was great with Mae! It isn’t always easy letting people in your house when your away but she followed instructions, sent plenty of updates and pictures and even came over to meet us face to face!”
“Marina is great! My dogs can't stop talking about her. At least that is what I think they are saying. They are probably asking for more treats though. But I digress. I have used Marina a number of times and each time she has been the best!!!”

About: As a full-time work-from-home professional, your pet will enjoy constant companionship and a highly predictable routine throughout the day. I specialize in providing attentive care for both energetic puppies who need consistent potty schedules and senior dogs requiring gentle pacing and precise medication management. My home is a calm, hazard-free environment designed for safety, and I intentionally limit bookings to one family at a time to ensure your dog receives my absolute focus, regular exercise, and undivided affection. As a lifelong animal lover with over 5 years of pet care experience, I treat every furry guest like a member of my own family. My goal is to provide a safe, high-energy, and stress-free environment tailored specifically to your pet's unique personality and daily routine. Whether your dog craves long, structured neighborhood walks, intense fetching sessions, or just a quiet spot on the couch for endless belly rubs, I ensure they receive constant attention, love, and mental stimulation. I am extremely detail-oriented, highly communicative, and will text you frequent photo and video updates so you can enjoy your time away with absolute peace of mind. Whether hosting your pet for a fun-filled staycation at my house or caring for them in the comfort of their own home, safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. In my home, your pet will enjoy a fully secured, hazard-free environment with plenty of cozy spaces, separate boundaries for safety, and constant supervision. When checking on or sitting at your home, I strictly respect your property, follow all security protocols, and replicate your pet's exact feeding, walking, and medication routines to minimize separation anxiety. I keep emergency vet contacts ready at all times and send frequent, reassuring updates so you always know your best friend is safe, happy, and loved.
About: I’ve had pets ever since I was a child. When I say “pets” I mean it, I’ve owned and cared for a wide spectrum, filled with cats, dogs, hamsters, fish and horses. To be completely transparent, I lost my Cane Corso late January 23’ to cancer 😫😭. I am not 100% ready to commit to getting another extra-large fur baby but I already miss having one around my house. Stoked to step into the cool “auntie” to your furry loved one(s). I truly enjoy caring for animals and would love the opportunity to share my heart with theirs even if just for a passing moment. Would love to walk your pups which hey gives me some more extra steps in my day or drop in and feed and love on either cats or dogs, hamsters, snakes. ALL ANIMALS LIVES MATTER! TRUST ME…YOUR BABY(IES) GONNA LOOOOOVE ME! I currently work from home almost daily so I can attend to basically your pets every need. I go on multiple walks during day myself so having some company is always best and motivating for me or I can take to park in my neighborhood that is dog friendly. If I have free time I can hop over to a true dog park if that’s cool with you too. If I am watching your kiki I can definitely give them as much space and/or attention, “spattention” as I like to define it, as per their want 😂 I live in an apartment but it’s in a very walkable part of town. I am ready to shower your fur babies with TLC. I am right down the street from White Rock Lake and can take your pups to the park if they so desire!
About: I’ve had pets my whole life , I love them to pieces. I keep them active and will do as you’d like for your fur baby! I’ll take them for rides to the park if they love rides and or parks ! I can bathe them if need be! If they stay over night they can sleep in the bed with me. Just like a kid , if you don’t allow something then nor will I ! I have pets of my own so I ask that your pet be UTD on shots and not aggressive :) Look forward to updates and photos of your baby! feel free to contact me with any questions you may have ! Thank you and I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! I love animals and have a flexible schedule, I work around you and your baby! Wether that be in your home or mine; they will have similar schedules. In my home: the garage is shut before the main door is opened. My yard is fenced and locked and they will never go out alone. I say that so you know your baby will not have the freedom to attempt escape.
“It was my first time hiring outside help for my dogs and it was awesome! Matthew was a gem! His communication, attentiveness, photos and feedback were wonderful! My only complaint is that I don’t think my dogs missed me while I was gone and will be sad not to see Matthew each day going forward!”

“Alma did a fantastic job taking care of our dogs! She was very responsive and available on short notice, which we truly appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of neighbors and family pets for 10+ years. I also have 2 cats. I use to have a husky, beaded dragon and 2 mice in college. I love walking dogs and seeing their personalities when they get excited. I also like reptiles and all other creatures. I work M-F from 8am-4pm and am available on weekdays after 4pm. My weekends are open to dog/cat sit. I live on the Katy Trail and I am an early bird. I would take care of your pet at your house. I can walk them for as long as you would like and give them unlimited love!
“Ashanti stepped in at the last minute to help with my pup, and she was so easy to with despite the fact that this was our first time booking together! She responded quickly, ensured all was taken care of, and provided great feedback on the visit. Definitely recommend and will be booking with again in the future!”

“My girls love Michael. I feel completely blessed to have found a sitter as thoughtful and loving to my littles as I am. I have no concerns when I have to travel, that they are taken care of just as when I am home.”

Zoe was fantastic! She helped care for my baby while I traveled. She was very communicative and Minnie did well with her (it was our first time having someone help). I loved the pictures and daily updates. I will definitely be using Zoe again in the future and would recommend her services to anyone.

Brittany was a BIG help with my two dogs. I was luckily able to book with her very last minute for Thanksgiving and she was quick to respond, attentive, professional and did a great job caring for my dogs. It was such a relief seeing how happy they were when we got home. Thank you again Brittany!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
