“My dog enjoyed herself with Jennifer. I forgot dog food & she had no problem going to get some for my dog. When I texted her she responded back quickly. I will definitely book with her again”

“Elizabeth’s communication was spot on before and during the stay. Directions were clear, drop off/pick up was smooth. Elizabeth provided a pupdate mid-visit and our furry one looked content, happy, and well cared for. Everything was returned clean and intact. We definitely look forward to booking again!”

“My dog tends to be skiddish, but did very well with Sabrina H. I was able to go out of town without worrying about how my dog was doing because she kept me updated.”

“Peggy was fantastic. I'm super, super picky about who I leave my fur baby with. He's a bit what I call special needs. He has bad food allergies, requires a lot of attention and suffers from some anxiety. I'm always worried about how he'll handle a new place, because many places are not the right fit for him. That was not the case with Peggy. He looked right at home in all the pictures, and I really appreciated all the check-ins and clear attention he was given. I didn't worry about him one bit while I was gone, which is honestly a rarity!”

“I had a great experience with Paul this weekend! He took wonderful care of our dog Leo and kept us updated with daily photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. Communication was easy, and he was always very quick to respond. We would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him!”

“Excellent sitter. She was very welcoming to not only my dog but me as well, very kind spirited, and shared amazing and timely updates . 🩷 will be rebooking with her to keep my dog .”

About: I did Rover years ago with my wife and now with our kids a little older love to start again! We have three girls and they love dogs but at this point we’re unable to get one of our own because of travel and other commitments so boarding is the perfect opportunity. Boarding at our home is easy: plenty of outdoor space, no other animals in the house, and plenty of helping hands available! On weekends I am home 100% of the time and will be able to fit your pet into the outdoor activities we do in our gated neighborhood as well as take them on walks around the park outside of our neighborhood. I will care for your pet as if they’re part of the family. Our daughters love dogs and will love the responsibility (they won’t be taking care of the dog by themselves, but they’ll love to help)
“Shilpa and her daughter took great care of our puppy and even handled all off his puppy energy so well! He got a ton of exercise and seemed happy the entire week we were gone! We will definitely be calling on them next time we need help with our pup!”

“I can with 💯 certainty recommend Kristi! Sebastian is 48lbs of anxiety and she reassured him, and let the kids cuddle with him to make him feel safe. She constantly communicated and sent pictures of how his day went. I can’t rave about her enough ❤️”

“Raven is the best! It was our first time leaving our pug with a sitter and she went above and beyond taking care of her. Before leaving our dog with her she took detailed notes on her routine and how to take care of her. She sent pictures throughout the day while she was with her and updated me on how she’s doing. Raven is very attentive and caring. I’m looking forward to having her watch our dog again!”

“Andrés and Roberto have taken care of Teo twice already, and I seriously can’t recommend them enough. They are incredibly caring, attentive, and loving with him. Teo absolutely loves staying with them, which gives me so much peace of mind whenever I leave him in their care. They always keep me updated with pictures and messages, and you can truly tell how much they love dogs and enjoy taking care of them. They treat Teo like he’s their own and make sure he feels comfortable, safe, and happy at all times. I’m very picky about who I trust with my dog, and I would 100% book with them again. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and genuinely loving sitters!”

“Sam took great care of my pup with pickup and drop-off service as well! She came back healthy with none of the issues she usually gets at boarding camps. Sam provided pictures throughout to keep me from missing my pup!”

“Joanne did a great job! She sent tons of pictures, videos, and updates. My dog got sick while we were gone and Joanne took such good care of her. I feel so blessed to have found someone that cares and makes me feel comfortable leaving my girl.”

“Pacita was amazing! We are already looking forward to our girls next stay with her! She sent pics and videos throughout the pups entire stay and we could tell they were so loved at her home. 10/10 would recommend Pacita! ??”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She was incredibly communicative, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure my pup was well cared for. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a top-tier sitter!”

“I was very nervous to leave my dog with someone else for the first time, but Hunter and Christie took great care of him. I don’t think he missed me at all! They sent daily updates and pictures which were much appreciated.”

“Bridget and Trevor are amazing! I am so happy to have found them. Bridget was so accommodating and communicative and made me feel at ease leaving my boy in her care. I have never seen Dante so tired after a stay - he clearly had the best time running around with Kaia and Zoe. ♥️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Irving
Ms. Pratima and family were a huge help. This is my first time using Rover and outside of a pet boarding facility. I enjoyed everything about this app. I’m so happy to have found Ms. Pratima. She took great care of ginger and her needs especially since she’s a senior dog, with special needs. Everyday, I received a notification of pictures and videos of my pup and I’m very happy with the results. I know it’s not easy for pet parents to leave their babies behind, but rest assured. My fur baby looked so happy and in great spirits. I will definitely come back again and with Ms. Pratima. Thank you.

My dog had a wonderful time at Tianara’s home! She sent me regular photos and videos throughout the day and kept me updated while I was out of town. I would highly recommend her for when you are out of town and looking for someone to care for your dog very lovingly :)

Our puppy Luna had a great time! They made sure to keep me updated on how she was doing every day, through pictures and videos. You can tell they care about each dog that stays with them. Also, they were always so quick responding to any message and flexible when I had to change pick up/drop off times. We will be bringing Luna again, for sure!

My dog and cat just spent over a week with Michael, and I really appreciated all of the pictures and videos he sent during their stay! My cat required some last minute medication, and Michael not only gave it to her although it was difficult but he let me ship the medicine to his house as it would not have arrived in time otherwise. Overall, very pleased! Would use again!!

Brittani, from the first visit with Cash, You showed a warmth towards making Cash feel welcomed n loved and not feel alone. This second visit was no different. Your an exceptional sitter and highly recommend Your service. Cash was happy under your care. Thank you.

Yadira was above and beyond, an amazing dog sitter!!! I basically have a giant puppy (fully grown Bernedoodle but still has puppy energy). I got photos and videos every day, and I could just feel how patient she was being with my Moon Doggie. The photos and videos all showed Moon being relaxed and curious, and when they said goodbye, I could tell Moon had really bonded with Yadira. I’m SO GRATEFUL to have someone I can trust to keep my baby when I go out of town. THANK YOU!!!

Peggy took amazing care of King while I was away! I truly appreciated the daily updates, photos, and communication throughout his stay. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and attentive hands. King looked happy, comfortable, and well loved the entire time. I would absolutely book with Peggy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!

Kristi and her family kept my anxious husky mix over the winter storm and I could not have asked for a better experience. I would so much rather know my baby is kept company and given attention in a warm home than a traditional boarding where they’re left alone. She has a very sweet golden mic who matched Nova’s silly energy and they were chasing each other around the coffee table right away, so I knew she was going to enjoy herself right away. Kristi was communicative AND flexible when I had to extend the stay twice. Highly recommend and I will absolutely be using her from now on.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
