“Our pup Cooper stayed with Nickia for about 3 days while we were out of town. This was my first time leaving my puppy behind so I was absolutely nervous. But I’m so glad we chose Nickia to watch our Cooper. Nickia made sure that my pup has safe, fun and a great stay!! She send me pictures of my little cooper throughout the trip and it made me so happy and relieved that Cooper was taken care of in an excellent manner. Cooper enjoyed playing with Nickia’s dog (Jazzy) too. Nickia was very professional and kind throughout his whole stay with her. We highly recommend her if you’re looking to board your pet. About: Furbabies have been a part of my whole life. I have a winier dog, 18 years young. Have him since he was a baby. I have a blue nose pitbull, 10 years. Have her since she was a baby too. Love them so much. Will treat yours as I do mine.. lots of love and care. I work from home. My hours are very flexible. No weekend work so I’m more flexible those days. All I need is a days notice. Both my furbabies are indoor babies. No crates. Since I work from home they are free to roam the house but they choose to stay close to me.
“We were nervous considering this would have been the first time leaving our dog. Mark was wonderful; he allowed us to dona test visit with Gambit and see how thing would go. Our dog had a wonderful time and was very comfortable; maybe a little too comfortable I wasnt sure he’d want to come back. Definitely would recommend.”

“Peggy and her husband are AMAZING. They cared for our goldendoodle Aspen during the middle of this crazy winter storm and sent me daily updates. I knew she was in great hands from the second we met Peggy. I think my dog is depressed from how much she misses them and their sweet poodle Willie! I highly recommend her dog sitting. They are so sweet! Thank you so much for caring for Aspen so well!”
“Thank you Zach for taking such great care of Theo! He kept us updated multiple times throughout the day and sent lots of pictures and videos to keep us reassured. Theo had so much fun making new friends. Will definitely come back next time!”

“Booked last minute with Julia and what an absolute gem. She was quick to respond and took great care of Penny. Will definitely rebook when we are in town.”

“Thanks for providing such good care of my baby. I especially enjoyed the many photo updates you sent us. I was nervous, as this was the first time he stayed with a stranger and other dogs, but you made us feel comfortable with the updates. I felt that my Coco was well taken care of and definitely recommend you to others.”

About: I've been around dogs and caring for them for more than 25 years, including my own dogs as well as the dogs of family, friends, and neighbors. I've always been the person people call when they need someone they can trust with their pets, and honestly, caring for animals has always felt like a bit of a secret calling in my life. I love getting to know each dog's personality, figuring out what makes them comfortable, and making sure they feel at home while their people are away. From puppies to older dogs, energetic playmates to dogs who are happiest curled up beside you, I've had the privilege of caring for all kinds of personalities over the years. Rover gives me a chance to finally share something I've genuinely loved doing for most of my life with more families who need someone they can trust. I work from home, so I'm around for my canine guests throughout the day and don't have to leave them home alone for hours while I'm at work. Caring for the dogs is a genuine part of my daily routine, with plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, play, attention, naps, and just hanging out together. Our fenced backyard makes it easy to get outside throughout the day, while the air-conditioned house gives everyone a comfortable place to play and relax, especially during the Texas heat. I keep my boarding numbers intentionally small, no more than three guest dogs at a time, so I can actually spend time with each one rather than trying to manage a house full of dogs. Whether your pup wants to play with Rosie, follow me around while I work, curl up on the sofa, or take a nap in their own bed, they'll have plenty of company and attention. I take your dog's safety seriously, but I also want them to feel like they're staying in a home, and not being put somewhere and simply watched. I limit boarding to three guest dogs at a time, which gives me the ability to keep an eye on everyone and pay attention to each dog's individual needs. Our backyard is surrounded by an 8-foot wooden fence and has a large tree that keeps most of the yard shaded, giving the dogs a secure place for supervised outdoor time and potty breaks. With the Texas heat, I don't believe dogs need to spend hours outside to have a good time. Most of their play and exercise can happen comfortably inside our air-conditioned home, with regular trips outside when the weather allows. Rosie, our 10-year-old Chiweenie/Corgi mix, is part of the household and absolutely loves having new friends around. She's happy to play with younger dogs, larger dogs, or dogs with plenty of energy, which makes her a great companion for our guests. Because the dogs will be sharing our home, I do look for dogs who are comfortable around other dogs; I don't want a guest spending their vacation separated from everyone else or stuck in a crate simply because they can't safely interact with the other dogs. I also like to keep things as familiar as possible for each dog. You're welcome to bring their own bed, crate, blanket, toys, food, or anything else that helps them settle in. Puppies are welcome, including those who are still working on house training, and puppy pads are perfectly fine for smaller dogs who aren't quite ready to rely on the backyard. If your dog has special needs or a particular routine, I'm happy to discuss what they require ahead of time and determine whether I can provide the right care. And while you're away, I don't want you wondering what your dog is up to. I send daily pictures and updates so you can see how they're settling in, playing, relaxing, and getting along with their new friends. At the end of the day, I want you to have the same feeling I'd want if I were leaving Rosie with someone: that she's safe, happy, comfortable, and genuinely being cared for.

I couldn't be happier with the care Charlie received! From the very beginning, Katia was reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring. It was clear Charlie felt comfortable, loved, and well cared for throughout the entire stay. I received several pictures and videos, and in all of them Charlie was happily playing. I highly recommend Katia to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter. I will definitely book with her again! Thank you Katia!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
