“Natalie was flexible when we had flight cancellation after flight cancellation, and she made sure our dog Daisy was cared for until we got home. Very responsive and reliable!”

“Finding a last minute pet sitter when you have to deal with a family emergency is never easy. Fortunately, Nina was available and able on short notice to stay with my 2 Boston Terriers, Jax and Max. She did an outstanding job and provided regular daily updates with photos. She took the time to understand their routines, and I could tell they got plenty of food, exercise and attention. I definitely recommend Nina. My dogs love her, and I bet yours will too!”
“Naya is AMAZING! We contacted her last minute for a very complicated case; our dog was coming out of the ER after being admitted for cluster seizures and she was still at risk for seizing again. Naya handled everything calmly and with excellent knowledge. She was a needle in a haystack for us! She asks great questions, and she is attentive and communicative. Thanks, Naya!!”

“Hannah was amazing. She was so nice about the overbearing cat parents that we are. She kept in touch with us several times a day, providing updates and sending pics. Each of our cats gets different foods at different times in different ways—it was no problem. She even administered meds. We were able to really enjoy ourselves knowing that everyone was being so well taken care of. We could not have been happier!”

“Autumn was amazing! She was so attentive to my cats, you can tell she loves animals. My cats gravitated to her, even my shy boy! She was also very great with communication. Wish she wasn’t leaving so I can keep her forever!😭”

“James has dog sat for us multiple times now! He sends frequent updates about how the dogs are doing and makes sure our home is well taken care of. We are confident our dogs are happy and cared for when James is with them and will continue to work with him whenever possible!”

“Sierra did a great job dogsitting my senior dog and housesitting while I was out of town for a long weekend! She sent updates and pictures, which was very reassuring!”

“Sabrina was an excellent dog sitter - our dog Phineas seemed very relaxed and happy when we got back, which isn’t always the case. She was timely and had great communication. Her updates were detailed and fun. She did a great job!”

“Pre took wonderful care of my house and my two pups. I knew we’d be a great fit from the moment we met, and she went above and beyond during her time with them. She was very supportive and attentive with my girls, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were in her hands. I’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Lanis has house sat for me via Trusted Housesitters before and done a great job, so I was happy to hire her for a day to take care of Luna. Lanis and Luna get along marvelously and Lanis took very good care of Luna. Whenever I have Lanis sit for me, I never have to worry about my house or pet. I’m looking forward to working with Lanis again in the future.”

“Aleya was AMAZING! She took excellent care of my dog, sent a lot of pictures, she’s great at communicating everything and she’s a very happy person! Will definitely book her again!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have tons of experience with high energy dogs because of this. I grew up with Australian Shepherds so I know the importance of making sure your furry friend has had enough exercise. Frisbee is my favorite thing to do with my family’s dog and it allows me to get outside and get active too! Additionally, I grew up in a big neighborhood and was trusted with watching my neighbors dogs that ranged from German Shepherds, to Terriers, and even a Lab with diabetes who needed medication in the form of shots. I am also always open to learning, so if you need someone for a very specific routine or dog, I am very happy to talk! I have experience with puppies to seniors. I work from home all day everyday! So I am very available to hangout with your pets during the weekdays :) I frequently have zoom meetings on Mondays at 10am and Wednesdays at 2pm but should usually never be more than an hour. Meeting times are subject to change but should not be an issue in how and when I take care of your pets :) I am here to support you. No one knows these pets like you - and I am here to listen and follow your routines as you have set them. I will provide updates frequently and should any emergencies arise, I will immediately inform you.
“Gavin was flexible when I had to change arrival time a few times! My dog was a little barky when he first met her and when he arrived for the stay but he was great calming her down. He gave detailed updates and sent multiple pictures! Would highly recommend him!!”

“Emily is great! She sent continual updates and pictures throughout her time house sitting. It was clear that besides regular walks she also spent lots of time hanging out and cuddling with my dog, who is very affectionate and needs the attention. Would definitely book again!”

“Julie took great care of our dog and cat - they clearly took to her easily, she was easy to communicate with and sent lots of pictures, and took wonderful care of our home. We would definitely use Julie again for future pet sitting needs.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since I was a kid and have always enjoyed spending time with animals. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I regularly help care for my siblings’ dogs and my roommates cat! I currently have an internship on Monday and Tuesdays, so I’m available after 6pm on those days. The rest of the week, my schedule is very flexible and I’m available Wednesday through Sunday for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. When caring for pets, I always follow any instructions given and stick to the pet’s usual routine. I try to spend as much time with them as possible and give them plenty of attention and care. I also make sure to send consistent updates and photos!

About: I’ve had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember! My pets have ranged from a 15 pound cockapoo to a 180 pound American Mastiff! I am a very gentle and caring person with a flexible mindset and happy to help where I can! I am a teacher who is on summer break! My schedule is fully open and ready to help at any time. I can be very flexible with my schedule and I am ambitious and ready to work. I have cared for dogs in multiple different home environments. I am comfortable with putting your pet in a crate if desired and spent my whole life walking my dogs as well. I’ve also worked with all ages and dogs and have administered medicine, trained dogs, and of course played with them all day long!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Baltimore
Emily took great care of our dog Kaia while we were away. She sent frequent updates which put our minds at ease. It was clear when we got home that Kaia had a great time with her. She seemed relaxed and content. We look forward to Emily spending time with Kaia again in the future!

Patty was very prompt and consistent in her responses. She showed great flexibility with a last minute curve ball! She took great notes during the meet-and-greet and asked any lingering clarifying questions. When we returned home, the house was in great shape and Patty maintained our cat’s medication routines! Thanks, Patty!

Zach was awesome! He even drew pictures of our pets! I don't think Zac even realizes how much he came in the clutch for us. He watched our 3 dogs and newly foster failed cat with ease. Sent updates every day and also left our house so clean. Our pets got all the love and care they deserved. I would 100% work with Zach again. He's a life saver.

Rebecca was awesome! She took great care of my dog and was super responsive to requests. We recently moved apartments and she was flexible with resolving issues in the new place and helped coordinate giving a key to a new roommate. I returned home to a happy and well cared for pup.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Baltimore on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,332 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Baltimore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baltimore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baltimore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baltimore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Baltimore. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
