“Kera is a star sitter! She’s a clear communicator, sent just the right amount of updates, and is very capable. I especially appreciated her ability to handle my reactive cattle dog and trust her judgement with handling any special needs. I highly recommend her and will most certainly bring Aries back on my next work trip.”

“Our 2 year old pup seemed to have a great time at Ginnie and Steven’s! They were communicative, sent pics and updates, and the dogs all seemed happy and well cared for. They do board multiple dogs at once but we appreciated that they took care to pair dogs together with similar temperaments. Our pup loves to play and run, which not all dogs love! But it sounds like they were able to pair him with a few playmates that were up to his energy level. We hope to use them again in the future!”

About: I've had dogs of all sizes, from Chihuahua to Great Dane and Great Pyrenees (multiple at a time), over the last fifteen years. I've cared for my rescue pup Dumpling on my own for the last five, and have helped to rehab her into the lovebug she is today. I like talking multiple walks per day, will give your fur baby lots of love and attention, and I work from home so they will always have a watchful over them. I understand how much pet owners love and cherish their babies, so I will treat them like they're my own while I have them. I work remotely full time and can be fairly flexible if needed. I walk my own dog four times a day, and she loves having walk buddies, so we'd of course take your pet along. On the weekends, I like going for extra long walks, so if that's something that your pet enjoys, they'll have a great time with me. I live in an apartment downtown, so I don't have a fenced area, but I let pets have free reign in my apartment. There are also two dog parks within walking distance, so for extra and off-leash play time, we can spend lots of time there.
“Molly was great with Woodford! He can be pretty nervous with new people and seemed to warm up quickly with Molly. He needs daily medication and Molly was happy to assist and was not phased by his sometimes stubborn habits :) she sent us daily updates and picture, will definitely use her dog care services again!!”

“Ramsey received the best care from Nina while I was away. Based on the photos, I could tell he had an amazing time! This was my second time using Nina and I will definitely rebook with her again! 😊”

“My Teddy Graham had such a great time at Donnell’s! He came home happy, well fed, and well rested. Donnell kept me updated with great photos and details about my dog’s stay the entire time. Having the opportunity to play with their dogs, Bella and Gizmo, was the cherry on top. Teddy Graham can’t wait to go back!”

“Shannon took wonderful care of our pup Bailey. We received daily updates and he had a blast. When our travel plans changed unexpected, Shannon was flexible and so helpful.”

“Sophie was a very attentive, kind, and communicative caretaker for our cat! She took extra care to manage boarding our cat alongside her cats, sent us pictures, and shared sweet updates with us while we were away. We highly recommend Sophie and would be glad to have her as caretaker for our Frankie again!”

“April is wonderful! She went above and beyond to make sure Andy was safe and had fun! She communicated consistently throughout the whole stay and I never felt worried about him! Would highly recommend!”

“We felt so comfortable leaving Remi with Julia! Remi is under a year old and it was his first time away from us. Julia helped make that experience easy for him and us by being timely, organized, and responsive. She sent texts with beautiful pictures to let us know how he was doing— which made us feel confident in our decision to leave for the holidays. Thank you Julia! We are looking forward to the next time we need to board him.”

“This is my 3rd time booking Meredith and Kevyn and my pup was well taken care of as always! She sent me pictures and videos throughout his entire stay, gave me updates on his play time and answered whenever I reached out. Kash was excited to see Meredith and ready to leave me at the door to go play. He always comes home tired which shows he had a ton of play time! They treat Kash with so much love! The only sitter we will be booking from here out!”

“They were absolutely amazing! I couldn’t say enough great things about Anna & Christian. It was the first time I was gone for a long period of time and leaving fynn with someone other than family and it was incredible! They sent updates and Fynn looked like he too was having the best vacation! If you need someone that treats your dog like their own I would highly recommend Anna and Christian! Thank you both for everything you did for myself and fynn!”

“Kimberly was so wonderful with my Beanbag! She was super communicative and made sure he felt comfortable and safe, and was very personable and easy to talk to. I would for sure feel comfortable leaving my dog with her again :)”

“Wren had a great time with Alessandra! She was very kind, responsive, and sent photos and updates while I was away. I know Wren was happy and comfortable because I was told she was a talker which she only does with people she likes. She was also great with schedule changes since my flights didn’t go exactly as planned. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Zola had a great time with Nathalie and her dog Nico for four nights. Nathalie was very communicative and flexible when I needed to change drop-off last minute. Zola came back happy and well taken care of - and I look forward to future doggy dates. Thanks again for everything, Nathalie!”

“It was great to leave my Gus with a stranger! Gus has never been away from me and doesn't get much interaction with dogs. Malik communicated with me the first night to say things were going well and them followed up the next night with a photo! I highly recommend Malik and will use him again!”

“Amazing! - Our dog stayed for a little over 2 weeks and we consistently received updates and proactive communication. We had to add a few days and it worked with scheduling. Thanks so much, will send her back!!”

Kionte is AMAZING!! He did a phenomenal job taking care of my dog, Maxwell. He sent me tons of pictures of them having fun and he followed my instructions perfectly considering my dog unfortunately has to take medications temporarily which made it a bit more challenging. Kionte was incredibly responsive and communicated throughout the entire time he watched my dog. I will definitely be using Kionte again soon for helping watch Maxwell. Thank you again!!!

Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
