“Molly was great with Woodford! He can be pretty nervous with new people and seemed to warm up quickly with Molly. He needs daily medication and Molly was happy to assist and was not phased by his sometimes stubborn habits :) she sent us daily updates and picture, will definitely use her dog care services again!!”

“Anna & Christian were great! They were very accommodating to Nahla. They did a meet and greet to make sure she would be comfortable during her stay. They were very communicative and sent updates and pics. They made sure Nahla was comfortable despite her having allergy flare ups. They had no problem giving her medication. I appreciate the care they provided. I would definitely recommend.”
“Elizabeth was a great caretaker of our puppy while we were away. She was very flexible even with a scheduling issue on our end. We Will certainly book again!”

“Felice T is REALLY ?? awesomeness! I was VERY skeptical about leaving my Tedii with anyone. She is extremely shy and very attached to me as she was a full pandemic puppy with no socialization. I have to say that although Felice was very nice on our first meet and greet, I was still not sure. Her reviews were very positive and promising. However, I was thinking to myself, well my dog is different! (????♀️). I am here to tell you the reviews ARE TRUE!!!”

“My doggies love going to Robin’s house! She takes incredible care of my two dogs and she made the entire experience stress-free. Not only was she and her family kind and attentive, but they were also incredibly flexible—willing to take my dogs at the last minute when I needed help. It was clear from the start that my dogs felt comfortable and well cared for, and I appreciated the updates and communication throughout their stay. Knowing they were in such good hands gave my family peace of mind. If you’re looking for a reliable, compassionate, and accommodating dog boarder, I highly recommend Robin. I will definitely be using her services again!”

“Karla is super responsive and took the best care of our dog, Ruthie. Ruthie can be pretty particular in her older age, and she was so comfortable with Karla. Loved the detailed updates and many photos! Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.”

“Gina was terrific! She was super flexible with our scheduling and was very responsive. Great feedback/updates on our pup and the experience was a positive one. Will definitely look to use her again!”

“Awesome dog sitter! She kept my dog last minute right before a planned family trip. She made me feel comfortable especially being new to the Rover app. I would recommend anyone to her. Got my dog back today and I already think he is attached to her..lol! Will definitely be using her again!”

“David has watched our dog Arthur 2-3 times and he always has an awesome time. Very easy to communicate with and plan pick up/drop offs and super responsive. We once saw David out in the neighborhood and said a quick hello - Arthur actually watched David and cried as he walked away! Definitely a good sign - David is our go-to Rover when going out of town.”

“Melissa was AMAZING with my dog. Cass is very shy, but her dog, Daisy, made the transition much easier. I appreciated that she sent me pictures of Cass daily and he looked so happy. Melissa was very understanding when I was caught in traffic on my way to her and allowed for it. I will definitely use her services again.”

“Diana treats my dogs as part of her family. She sends wonderful pictures and updates and it really helps me feel comfortable with being away from my fur babies. I couldn’t ask for more from someone, she’s wonderful and loving to them and they love being with her.”

“Madison took great care of our dog! We appreciated the updates/photos and you can tell she really loves dogs. Madison was also flexible when our flight was delayed which was very helpful!”

“I was worried that my Snoopy would be bad and bark all the time. Theresa did I very well with him and enjoyed him. He will be going back whenever I travel. I was not worried at all.”

“Latoya was very kind and compassionate. She took great care of my dog and was very pleasant to meet with overall. Our dogs got along really well, she has a lovely home and even gifted my dog a little toy that she enjoyed during her stay!! I'd recommend Latoya to everybody and you can be sure that your dog will be loved and will be in great hands!”
“I think Lois was my best Christmas gift! We had a big family trip planned over the holiday and I hated the thought of my dog locked in a kennel. I just happened to check the Rover site for the first time and saw that Lois was willing to take in a “guest” for Christmas. We set up a meet and greet because Lois also has a dog. I trusted her knowledge of dog behavior and she was confident the two dogs would get along. They were like brothers! During the stay, she spoiled Milo with extra attention, special treats and toys, long walks, and he got to be part of the family on Christmas Day. She sent me photos and was a great communicator. I would highly recommend Lois - she does an amazing job and I look forward to taking Milo back.”

“Shruti is very caring and considerate of my dog who has separation anxiety. She worked with me to find the best solution for her. I've already booked her this time for an extended stay while I am travelling.”

“Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Jess is simply amazing with my elderly and very high maintenance Havanese. He has serious separation anxiety but I never worry about him when I drop him off. She’s very attentive and patient and will go out of her way to make him comfortable. She’s really the only one I trust with my baby 🥰”

Jordan may Jehovah bless all you do in life and let no one steal your joy... Thank you again..

Molly was great with Tazz. Her home looked cozy and welcoming, the vibe was calm and quiet. They went on walks, we received several photos. Tazz came home happy and healthy! Loved that it was easy to park when we dropped Tazz off and picked her back up. We live in Sarasota, FL and were in town for a visit to Johns Hopkins. If we lived in Baltimore we would be repeat customers!

Highly recommend Daquon. He was very accommodating, offered a courtesy pre meeting to meet my girl and talk logistics, and overall took very good care of my cat! They made sure to adjust her belongings and comfort blankets in the areas she liked. I could tell she was comfortable and cozy in every single picture sent, even doing the same things she usually would at home. Everything was prepped in advance on my arrival as well. His partner as well was a big help, and they made a very good care team. Will definitely be returning to him once the time comes again that I need a pet sitter. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for a pet sitter, especially in the Mt. Vernon area!

Demetrius was GREAT with Teddy! This was Teddy's first Rover stay, And Demetrius was the perfect host for this situation. He kept me informed with stories and videos of Teddy's adventures! Teddy put in an average of 30,000 steps a day 🤣😮. He had so much fun, he'll probably be knocked out for the rest of the day. I think we found our Rover host!

Veronica and her husband were fantastic for our first boarding experience with Rover for our pup Remy. From the very beginning of setting up our meet and greet through to our time boarding, Veronica was always quick to respond and made us feel very comfortable leaving Remy in her care. Veronica sent a number of photos during our time away and it was lovely to see our pup enjoying time with the other dogs as well as getting cuddles. We feel lucky to have found her!

We adopted Rosie over two years ago, but were still reluctant to go anywhere overnight where we couldn't take her along. After viewing many profiles on Rover we decided to contact Julia. We were impressed by her extensive experience with dogs, so much so that she cares for them full-time, and her obvious genuine love for animals. Julia met Rosie before boarding and asked many thoughtful questions. Upon meeting her we were at ease and quickly knew that Rosie would be in great hands. Since Rosie had only stayed once overnight with a family member that she already knew, we weren't quite sure how she would react to being dropped off with another caretaker. The first day or so Rosie was anxious and exhibited some behaviors that we did not anticipate (a fear of hardwood floors!), but Julia was patient and gave her time to settle in at her own pace. Once she did, Rosie had a great time hanging out with her new canine friends and going on long walks with Julia. We loved receiving a photo each day of Rosie, knowing that she was doing well and enjoying her own vacation. Julia is a great (and speedy!) communicator, was incredibly patient with Rosie, and took great care of her while we were away. Rosie enjoyed long walks, supervised playtime with other dogs, and came home a tired and happy pup. We are so glad we connected with Julia and relieved that we found a trusted, experienced caretaker who Rosie can stay with again in the future. Thank you Julia!

Sarah was amazing! She took such incredible care of our fur baby while we were out of town for two weeks - despite some medical issues that came up for him right before the trip! She was on top of his meds, gave him all the love, and her dog Jack was also the perfect host brother! We will absolutely book again!!

Shipra was an amazing sitter! Super communicative, friendly, and easy to get in touch with. My dog, Scout, had so much fun with her and Trevor and seemed super comfortable right away with both of them. They went on big walks, including trail walks, and played all the time, which made me feel a lot better about leaving Scout for a week. I really appreciated the daily photos and videos, especially because this was my first time leaving Scout with non-family. Overall, I’d highly recommend Shipra!

Fabiola was the perfect sitter for Chance! Located very close by and took us on such a short notice. Her and her partner gave him so much love and attention. We know our boy is very attached, but she sent photos daily to ease both Chance and us! Fabiola took him on daily walks in the city and the photos were so sweet. We look forward to utilizing her services again and I’m sure Chance does as well!

Marina was great with Luci! Luci seemed to have the best time. Marina was professional and kept us updated on Luci during our trip. She was very understanding and worked with us when our flights were delayed. Luci seemed happy and relaxed when we picked her up. We highly recommend Marina.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
