“This is our first time with Rover and we could not have found a better person/family for our beloved recent rescue to stay with for a few days. We know our rescue needs lots of love and patience and we are so grateful that Theresa understands that and in addition only takes one client at a time. This was perfect as we saw how much of a difference it makes for our dog vs being at a doggie daycare center. She provides updates and pictures to ease our minds and always on top of communication. We are so grateful! And will be repeat customers.”

“Jasmine was able to fit us in last minute. She was great with our golden retriever. We received updates and our pup was calm and happy when we picked her up. Will use her services again!”

“Loved loved LOVED Nicole. King’s transition was so smooth. She stayed in communication. Made us feel comfortable from the beginning to the end. King will definitely be back.”

“This was Faye’s first pet sitting experience that wasn’t with a family member, and she has separation anxiety, so I was nervous about how she would do. However, after our initial communications and meet and greet, we felt very confident in leaving Faye with Meagan. Meagan was very easy to communicate with and sent some great pictures! Faye also got along very well with her dogs. I would highly recommend!!!”

“Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Virginia and Steven were very helpful and accommodating throughout the process of booking a stay for my dog Bessie. I was happy that there were other dogs in the home and Bessie had an amazing time playing with them.”

“Michelle did a great job watching my little guy Charlie. She went out of her way to make him feel at home. She sent me much-appreciated pics and texts to let me know he was doing fine. I look forward to using her again!”

“Ashley was an excellent communicator who provided timely updates and proactive questions about my Yorkiepoo, Luna. Luna thoroughly enjoyed her quality time with Ashley’s family and dogs for a one night. I highly recommend using her services in the future.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“April was the BEST! She was super accommodating and sweet with Yani. Sent pictures and regular updates. She was thorough with Yani’s care and super responsive. Her sweet fur baby, Penelope and Yani got along so well making the experience more of a play date than boarding. Definitely reaching out when we have our next trip and I would highly recommend!”

“Brandon was a lifesaver! He took great care of my over active super energetic puppy! He was very accommodating and our dog loved playing with his gorgeous fur baby!!”

“Becca did a fantastic job taking care of Nami! I’m always a bit apprehensive when trying a new sitter, but she quickly put my mind at ease. Nami got plenty of walks and Becca really took the time to understand her personality. I really appreciated all the photo updates and regular check-ins—they made a big difference. Her son was also very sweet and gentle with Nami, which was lovely to see. I would definitely book with Becca again!”

“I never have a worry leaving my pup with Katelyn! I get constant updates and he’s always over the moon to see her when I drop him off! My dogs tail never lies and it says she’s awesome too!”

“Shruti is very caring and considerate of my dog who has separation anxiety. She worked with me to find the best solution for her. I've already booked her this time for an extended stay while I am travelling.”

“This was my first time ever using a sitter for my baby girl, and Morgan could not have provided a better service. She stayed in contact with me during the days leading up to the stay, and continued updating me with pictures and news during the stay. My fur baby came back to me happy and exhausted from all the play time with other dogs. I will definitely be returning to Morgan for future boarding for my baby girl”

“Our pets felt right at home with Janice and Stalio. They were so welcoming, helpful and accommodating with our boys. They kept us up to date daily with pictures and messages and even helped us out with making them their food because we miscounted the amount we sent. They provided amazing care and we look forward to rebooking with them in the future.”

“Lorna took care of my dogs like if they were her own. She constantly kept communicating with us, sending pictures and videos of them. She made them feel at home and played with them, walked them constantly, and even had them together with her dog. Will recommend in a heartbeat!”

“Nautica was an excellent host for my busy little boy. She kept them an extra day because we've been having brownouts in my neighborhood. She even dropped him off and picked him up. I knew he was going to be spoiled rotten after enjoying a long weekend with the backyard. I will be using her again”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her, and would definitely use her service again. She was very nice and kind. Very warm and set my heart at ease the minute i walked in her door.”

“Nadia has become our go-to for pet sitting! She and her entire family treat our dog like one of their own, and we always get the best updates and videos showing just how much fun our pup is having. It gives us total peace of mind knowing our dog is so well loved and cared for 😊”

Wow! 🤩 The care provided by John and his lovely wife was second to none! Our pup was loved, pampered, happy and content as I have only seen him at home! We had zero worries about Noah as we saw how much he was cared for immediately! We will be back soon for sure! Thanks John!

Duke had a wonderful stay with Megan! She took great care of him, sent pictures regularly and communicated other updates frequently. Megan was very responsive to my questions and reached out to confirm Duke’s needs if there was any clarification needed (for example, about his medications). Duke is a senior pup so does require some extra TLC and Megan provided that. Thank you for taking such good care of him!

We can’t thank you enough for stepping in at the last minute to watch our sweet baby boy! You made everything so seamless and stress-free for us. He was 100% happy when we dropped him off and just as happy (and exactly the same) when we picked him up.. tail wagging, full of energy, and clearly well cared for. We truly appreciate your flexibility and the wonderful care you gave him. We’ll definitely be reaching out again! 🤍🤍🤍

Maddie did a great job watching my dog Mia for the week! She was very responsive and sent great updates while I was away. Mia got along great with Maddie’s dog Penny and seemed very happy and comfortable during her stay. Maddie was also very accommodating with the meet and greet and flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, which made everything really easy. I would definitely book with Maddie again!

Hali and Alex took wonderful care of our two dogs over New Years. The communication was prompt, and I felt that they were well looked after. It was clear that our written information on the dogs’ schedules and behaviors was followed closely. We look forward to entrusting them to Hali and Alex’s care again!

This is the second time she has taken care of our dog. The first for one night and this time it was for a whole week. Made sure to send me pictures every day. When I picked up my dog she started crying when Justine walked away so I know she had a great time with her!

Jiapeng (Michael) and his girlfriend Candace has been a life saver for us. We needed to board our dog very last minute before our trip due to previous rover cancellation and Michael and Candace were able to do a meet and greet right away. They took such great care of Mochi, I would 10/10 recommend!! We got daily pics and updates, they even put on shoes and rain boots for Mochi during her walks. Morty and Nao Nao definitely kept Mochi company during her stay. Michael and Candace were transparent with any issues with our dog that came along the way. They were very accommodating and helpful to our requests. We look forward to booking with them again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
