Their house has a nice fenced in backyard as a plus. We have already booked our summer vacation and plan on booking other trips as well. Very happy to have found such a perfect fit.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“It was great to leave my Gus with a stranger! Gus has never been away from me and doesn't get much interaction with dogs. Malik communicated with me the first night to say things were going well and them followed up the next night with a photo! I highly recommend Malik and will use him again!”

“Anna and Christian were friendly, reliable and timely. They sent updates of my boy, Beau, and were great communicators overall. Anna and Christian made me feel safe to leave my pet knowing he was happy and well cared for. Will use again.”

“Theresa was great with my beagle-mix and was very understanding regarding all of my concerns as a dog-mom. She sent pictures and updates which put my mind at ease. My dog seemed very comfortable with her and I believe he truly enjoyed his stay with her and her chihuahua-mix, Lois.”

“Nicole was an amazing host! She took loving care of our dog and sent frequent updates & photos. We will definitely trust her with our dog again if the need arises.”

“Molly was an amazing sitter! Vienna is elderly with multiple medical problems, and Molly couldn’t have been more patient, understanding, and attentive regarding her needs. I felt so relaxed having her with Molly for her overnight stay and Vienna was so happy and comfortable with her stay. Thank you Molly!”
“Rey was FANTASTIC with our English Bulldog Petey!! He had the best time and Rey was an expert in integrating him into the pack. This will continue to help him train as a he grows up! We felt so safe leaving Petey with Rey while we were on vacation and the pictures he sent made us smile each day! Will definitely be using Rey in the future as he is so accommodating.”

“Wow! 🤩 The care provided by John and his lovely wife was second to none! Our pup was loved, pampered, happy and content as I have only seen him at home! We had zero worries about Noah as we saw how much he was cared for immediately! We will be back soon for sure! Thanks John!”

“Brew seemed to have a great weekend with Alessandra and her pup! I’m so appreciative of her taking him out for adventures, as well as accepting our last minute request! She’s very communicative and keeps you updated with photos.”

“This was my first time ever using a sitter for my baby girl, and Morgan could not have provided a better service. She stayed in contact with me during the days leading up to the stay, and continued updating me with pictures and news during the stay. My fur baby came back to me happy and exhausted from all the play time with other dogs. I will definitely be returning to Morgan for future boarding for my baby girl”

“Sophie was a very attentive, kind, and communicative caretaker for our cat! She took extra care to manage boarding our cat alongside her cats, sent us pictures, and shared sweet updates with us while we were away. We highly recommend Sophie and would be glad to have her as caretaker for our Frankie again!”

“I am sooooo happy that I found Ashley! She's amazing with Gracie and I am fully at ease while traveling knowing that she is being well taken care of. She keeps me updated daily and I so appreciate that she does it without me having to ask. Ashley is now my go-to sitter!!”

Absolutely excellent experience with Megan. Everyday. I got a plethora of photos and videos of my pups being actively engaged. Communication with Megan was excellent. My dogs came back happy and well cared for. I will definitely be booking with Megan in the future!

Louisa is very kind and took great care of our Kaya. Kaya was a bit nervous and even threw up her dinner. Louisa and her housemates tended to Kaya and made her feel comfortable. By the time we picked her up, Kaya seemed completely acclimated to Louisa's home. I highly recommend Louisa.

This was the third time Claire watched Milo and she did a great job taking care of him as always. Unfortunately, Milo was sick while staying there, but Claire was a great caregiver and was very communicative throughout. We would definitely leave Milo with Claire again.

We can’t thank you enough for stepping in at the last minute to watch our sweet baby boy! You made everything so seamless and stress-free for us. He was 100% happy when we dropped him off and just as happy (and exactly the same) when we picked him up.. tail wagging, full of energy, and clearly well cared for. We truly appreciate your flexibility and the wonderful care you gave him. We’ll definitely be reaching out again! 🤍🤍🤍

Karla always takes great care of our dog, Loki. He is 13 years old, and it's nice knowing he will be accommodated and well looked after. She always gives great updates and is available to talk whenever we need. We will definitely go back and recommend her to anyone we know!

Maddie did a great job watching my dog Mia for the week! She was very responsive and sent great updates while I was away. Mia got along great with Maddie’s dog Penny and seemed very happy and comfortable during her stay. Maddie was also very accommodating with the meet and greet and flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, which made everything really easy. I would definitely book with Maddie again!

Hali and Alex took wonderful care of our two dogs over New Years. The communication was prompt, and I felt that they were well looked after. It was clear that our written information on the dogs’ schedules and behaviors was followed closely. We look forward to entrusting them to Hali and Alex’s care again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
