“Virginia and Steven were great with Bonnie. They were very understanding and patient when my travel plans slightly changed and I needed to change my pick up time. We had a small issue with Bonnie’s food, and they went out and found a replacement for her!”

“My lhasa apso is very attached to us and shows high anxiety when a family member is not around, even to the point of vomiting when my daughter went away on a trip in June. I was very nervous about leaving him during our family vacation, but Sarah and her family went above and beyond to make sure that Oliver was comfortable. He received lots of belly rubs and attention, went on nice walks and trips to the dog park, and became BFF's with Jack, their beagle. Sarah sent numerous pictures at least twice a day, and my favorites were of Oliver and Jack snuggling together. Seeing this pictures greatly helped my own anxiety at being so far away from my fur baby. Sarah also gave updates. Her family just really seemed to understand dogs. She was not upset when Oliver had "marked a piece of furniture" but was totally cool about it; similarly, when I warned her that Oliver is prone to throwing up when away from his family, her response was, "we have hardwood floors so it's easy to clean up." Oliver had a wonderful experience with Sarah, Jack, and the rest of the family, and I recommend her for anyone and especially those with anxious pups.”

“I was very pleased with my dogs stay with Felice. The environment was very warm and inviting. My dogs seemed to have a wonderful time. We plan to return soon.”

“We booked with her on short notice, and she did a great job. She kept me updated with pictures, was very caring, and made a real effort to get my picky dog to eat. I really appreciated the communication and attention she gave him. I’d definitely recommend her and would book with her again.”

“Amanda does an amazing job caring for my Charlie. She provides picture and videos as well as updates frequently. Whenever my dog stays with her I know he is in good hands!!”

“Another stay with Carlie and we cannot recommend her enough! We always have such peace of mind with her daily updates and photos and knowing that our pup, Indi, is safe and having fun. Indi gets her own vacation when she stays here and we love knowing that our she gets to enjoy herself, too! Between Carlie's loving and kind family, the huge bonus yard, and Carlie's attention and ability to continue medicine (she even notices any behavioral changes!), we just know we've made the right choice. Do yourself a favor, and get on her schedule for your pup sitting needs! :)”

“Theresa and her daughter took such good care of our dog, Lily! They really loved her like their own and sent plenty of daily updates and pictures. We enjoyed ourselves on vacation knowing that our pup was in good hands.”

“Elizabeth is the best host! She does a wonderful job with my dog. She always communicates with me on updates about Denim. She sends tons of pictures too! Very flexible and professional. We have used her about 4 times now”

“Danielle took great care of my dog while I was away! Sadie was happy and well cared for when I picked her up. Danielle was responsive and sent me regular updates so I knew Sadie was happy and safe. I highly recommend Danielle!!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Very positive experience with James! We have a 1.5 year high energy pitbull. Multiple walks a day and lots of play. James did great with her and I can tell she loved her stay. Loved the picture updates of her and his dog, and I appreciated that there was an option to keep them separate if needed. Highly recommend!”

“Aparna was so great with Piper! She was responsive, communicative with me about how Piper was doing, and Piper was right at home. I will definitely be reaching out for future sitting needs!”

“Shruti took excellent care of my dog this weekend and did a truly wonderful job. She was communicative, responsible, and clearly loves animals. My dog was happy, well cared for, and relaxed when I returned, which says it all. I highly recommend Shurti and would absolutely book her again!”

“My dog loved his stay with Veronica. She made sure my dog was comfortable in her home and made every effort to get to know his personality and preferences before he boarded with her. My dog returned home a happy pup!”

“Brittanie and Ryan were wonderful sitters for our dog this weekend! She seemed to have gotten very comfortable in their home pretty quickly and had no issue coexisting with their dogs at all. They sent frequent update pictures and really went above and beyond bringing our dog to our wedding so she could be included in our pictures. Overall great first Rover experience and would happily use them again!”

“Couldn't ask for a better sitters - I boarded my pup with Janice and Stalio for three days. They were accommodating with some changes to my schedule and sent photos and feedback while I was away. I look forward to booking them again since I know my dog is happy and cared for well.”

Absolutely excellent experience with Megan. Everyday. I got a plethora of photos and videos of my pups being actively engaged. Communication with Megan was excellent. My dogs came back happy and well cared for. I will definitely be booking with Megan in the future!

Wow! 🤩 The care provided by John and his lovely wife was second to none! Our pup was loved, pampered, happy and content as I have only seen him at home! We had zero worries about Noah as we saw how much he was cared for immediately! We will be back soon for sure! Thanks John!

Merlin had a wonderful stay with Elizabeth. Through her detailed updates, we could tell he was being well cared for. She also sent lots of photos, so we could see what a blast Merlin was having with the other dogs. He loved lounging in the baby pool to keep cool during the heat wave. Elizabeth went above and beyond and gave him a bath before we picked him up, so he was clean and soft. We would definitely have Merlin stay with her and her family again!

Aimee is fantastic! She took amazing care of my two cats during a cross-country move and kept the two fluffs happy and healthy during a stressful transition. Aimee is incredibly knowledgeable about cats, is warm and considerate, and gave my kitties so much love while I was gone. She provided fantastic pictures and updates and totally set me at ease! Wish I were more local as Aimee would absolutely be my go-to cat sitter. 11/10 - thanks so much to Aimee and her family for the excellent care!

We can’t thank you enough for stepping in at the last minute to watch our sweet baby boy! You made everything so seamless and stress-free for us. He was 100% happy when we dropped him off and just as happy (and exactly the same) when we picked him up.. tail wagging, full of energy, and clearly well cared for. We truly appreciate your flexibility and the wonderful care you gave him. We’ll definitely be reaching out again! 🤍🤍🤍

"Melissa is an outstanding dog sitter. She is attentive, reliable, and really understands how to cater to a dog's individual personality and requirements. Coco was happy and well-cared for the entire time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pet like their own!"

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
