“Look no further! Virginia and Steve watched my dog for five days and I can honestly say they are the most patient, kind, dog-loving people ever. We communicated the whole time and they took such good care of Franklin. They will truly treat your dog as their own. I would trust them with my dog over and over again and recommend them to anyone!”

“Theresa and Lyv were the absolute best watching our baby Misa for the week. Theresa sent so many pictures and updates throughout the week and I could tell Misa was having such a great time with them. She loved curling in bed with Lyv and being the diva that she is! It was really good to be able to relax while away knowing she was in good hands. Last minute, Misa had a skin flare up the weekend before we dropped her off and Theresa was able to medicate her and keep a watchful eye so she was all better by the time we picked her up. Can’t say enough good things about Theresa, will 100% use her again when we need a sitter!”

“Melissa was great to work with! Our pup had a great time during his stay and was well cared for. I'd recommend Melissa for your dog boarding needs and we would love to work with her again in the future.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Karla is an amazing dog sitter! She communicates effectively through text message and the Rover chat. Karla also takes the most amazing photos of your pet to give you that extra sense of comfort. My dog had a wonderful time in her care and will definitely be back to see her soon.”

“Priscilla was amazing with our little one! She made sure she felt right at home and spoiled. She kept us informed with pictures and stories throughout the stay. We will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve grown up around both small and large dogs, giving me experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. I’ve also cared for and dog sat more dogs than I can count. Me and my partner love dogs and we wish we could have our own - but out jobs are both in person Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday making it impossible to be there for a dog during the week. However, we would love to care for an animal over a weekend! Or even just dog sit! I currently work from home only on Mondays and Fridays. I am in person Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I would be happy to help in baby sitting for long weekends and walks on the weekends! We currently live in a townhome with both a small front and back yard. While neither yard is fenced, your dog’s safety is my top priority. I always keep dogs on a leash when outside and never let them off leash unless they are in a fully fenced, secure area.
“Tiffany is absolutely amazing! Drexel has loved spending time with her family and gives her hugs and kisses when he leaves. She sent me many detailed updates and photos and even gave him a bath. She was also able to extend our boarding time when our trip was extended. I really appreciate her kindness, flexibility, and 100% trust he with the care of Drexel!”

“Brittanie & Ryan were amazing! I had never used this service before and was a bit nervous. They were great and explained how it worked, and I met them before booking to make sure it was a good fit for all of us. It really was!! I could tell they took care of my dog as well as their own. They sent pictures throughout the week and texted back right away with any questions that I had. I can’t thank them enough and would definitely recommend them 100%! What a wonderful family and they loved Lucky and he was so happy with them and their family.”

“We had to go out of town last minute and Jingru gracefully accepted our request to watch the dogs. We received multiple updates throughout their stay and they came home tired and happy. Highly recommend!”

“Virgina watched my retired guide dog Harry in her home while I was traveling for business. She made sure everyone would get along beforehand and took time to meet and talk with me. This was the first time Harry was staying with someone he didn't know and I was worried he'd be anxious. He had a good time with her senior dog Chip. I'll likely book with her again.”

“Lorna is the best! She was very kind and loving to our pup, Milo. She sent updates throughout his stay and even watched him for an extra day with last minute notice. We have already rebooked our next visit! 🙂”

“Amanda was so great with my nervous girl Xena, she provided a safe, loving home for her to stay in. Amanda was also amazing with providing detailed updates and photos. I would give 10 stars if I could.”

“Sarah, her family and her pup Jack were all so very wonderful! I think Frisbee and Jack are now bffs, and she’d love to go back! Sarah let us even let us Chang”

“James is an awesome sitter! We felt super comfortable leaving our 100lb Corso with James and he sent us pictures every day (which is great for a worry wart like me). Definitely boarding our dog with James again!”
“Guy took excellent care of Carmel while I was away. He was professional, attentive and genuinely caring. He ensured Carmel was well taken care of, and kept me updated with photos and messages. Carmel was happy and relaxed when I returned. I highly recommend Guy, for his outstanding service!”

“Shruti is very caring and considerate of my dog who has separation anxiety. She worked with me to find the best solution for her. I've already booked her this time for an extended stay while I am travelling.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Linthicum Heights
Leaving the country for an extended period was stressful, and I wanted my baby in a loving home instead of a boarding facility. Even though Adonis can be unpredictable in new environments, this has officially become his second home! Geovanna is, without a doubt, the best pet sitter I've ever worked with. She treats every pet like family, and as a fellow dog mom, she made me feel completely at ease. She sent thoughtful daily updates, photos, and was always so responsive, which meant everything while I was away. I was honestly amazed at how comfortable and happy Adonis was with her. Knowing he was so well cared for allowed me to truly enjoy my trip. From now on, Geovanna will be my first choice every single time. Thank you so much for loving my baby like your own and making him feel so safe and at home. We appreciate you more than you know!

Liz, Jeffrey, and the kids were fabulous! They made my Yorkshire puppy feel right at home, loved, and entertained. She was happy to see us when we picked her up, but I think a little sad to leave. We received lots of photos and videos while we were gone to help us feel like we made the right choice and that Pixie was in good hands.
Wow! 🤩 The care provided by John and his lovely wife was second to none! Our pup was loved, pampered, happy and content as I have only seen him at home! We had zero worries about Noah as we saw how much he was cared for immediately! We will be back soon for sure! Thanks John!

Sarah is an absolute dream with both of my pups. They both adore her and her husband and love playing in her yard. She is super attentive and sends me lots of pictures every time they are with her. You can really tell how much she cares for animals. We are so lucky we found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
