“Tabitha is WONDERFUL! My dog is very emotionally needy (has anxiety), and I needed a sitter very last minute. Tabitha came to the rescue and was so attentive with Franny and did such a good job with her! I really trust her and i can’t wait to use her again 🙂”

“We had a wonderful, stress-free experience with Samantha during her week-long stay in our home. She took great care of our dog and he was completely himself when we returned. Our home was also well cared for and very clean when we returned. She kept us updated regularly with photos and messages, and we had peace of mind while traveling. Samantha is reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and professional. We would absolutely book her again!”

“We have never had a pet sitter before, and our 4 cats do well on their own for a few nights, but our new puppy needed care while we traveled out of state. Megan was fantastic! She asked clarification questions we wouldn't have thought of, took excellent care of all our fur kiddos, and we loved her updates and photos throughout the sitting experience. Our home was as we left it and Megan was genuinely enjoyable to interact with! Additionally, she is a veterinary technician and that provides extra comfort. Our kitties and puppy would gladly hang out with Megan again!”

“Emily was wonderful with my pug puppy, Peaches! She watched her for the weekend, and I felt at ease knowing she was in great hands. Emily was communicative, prompt, and kept me updated with messages and photos. I highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Would definitely book again!”

“Briana was great! We had a special situation where our two pups just met and so they had to be separated during her visit. And both of them are anxious. Briana handled it perfectly and was so sweet to them. From the minute we met her we knew she’d be excellent with our pups. She is reliable, responsible, communicative and so sweet. She gave us so much peace of mind we were able to enjoy our vacation. We will definitely use her again. Highly Recommend!”

“So grateful to Donald for taking such good care of our pup! This was our first time every having a sitter for him, and it was for a full week - we could not have asked for a better experience for our pup (and for us and for our house, too!). Donald was not only great with our anxious clingy pup, but he also kept us updated regularly and put us at ease that all was going smoothly. He took great care of the house too, with attention to all kinds of little details I wouldn't even have thought of. He was also super flexible when we had to make a last-minute change to our timing - he could not have been nicer about it. And of course, the best and most important part is that our dog loved him and will look forward to when we can have him come again!”

“Erica was great at communicating with us and providing updates and pictures of the pups while we were gone. We will certainly use her again in the future!”

About: I have owned dogs my whole life, and know how to take care of them. I also have experience with cats, I have helped my grandfather with a stray cat that chose him! I'm openly available, as of today. I like to volunteer, but that usually only takes about 4 or 5 hours. I will give your pet the time it needs. You make sure that they have plenty of fresh water, eat on time, and walk them every day when the sun is not too hot, eg in the morning or evening.
“Emma was so great! She always responded quickly to messages, and was very accommodating to our needs - she came over in advance so we could meet her and introduce her to our dog, and she dealt with some unconventional dog hand-offs while we were away. She also left the house just as it was. We will definitely be reaching out to her for dog-sitting needs in the future. Thank you, Emma!”

“Jennifer did a great job watching our dogs and cat (and bunny). Even with rough weather and power outages, the animals were in good hands. Thank you for keeping them healthy, happy and entertained.”

“We have never used a sitter in our house before our dogs before but thought we should try it because one of our dogs get anxious going to other people's houses. Kathleen was such a great choice in a house/dog sitter. She was communicative, sent plenty of photos of the dogs, and overall went above and beyond in making sure they were well cared for while we were away for the weekend, including administering eyedrops to one of dogs who HATES getting them and walking a tough walker. We would 100% recommend Kathleen and will definitely be requesting her again for future house sits if she is available!”

“Jamie is wonderful! She’s punctual, communicative, and caring. She spent lots of time with our dogs when we were away from the weekend and took great care of them and the house. She also sent lots of pics, which we loved. We can’t recommend Jamie enough! Looking forward to many future bookings with her.”

About: I’ve been a pet owner most of my life and have taken care of pets for friends, family, and neighbors. I am the one they always rely on to care for there’s pets and I hope to do the same for you. I’m currently looking for a job, so I will have lots of free time to care for your pets, and with flexible scheduling to what days you might need. Caring for pets at the client’s home I would make sure to ask where they keep the food, treats, toys for the pets, and cleaning supplies just in case if they make an accident by chance.

About: I've been caring for dogs of all sizes around the multiple states I've lived in for just over half a decade. Also have been a dog owner for a majority of my life and am comfortable giving meds to dogs as well as consistently giving walks to all dogs. Animals are my passion and I am even in school right now for animal based fields Currently job searching so I have all the time in the world to care for both my shih tzu and any other animals that may be included in my house at any given time. I will be able to easily walk and play with dogs of all sizes and ages I do have an apartment, however there is tons of safe and surveilled space to walk dogs and they will easily be able to go on mile+ walks if need be. My dog is another member of the family and I do mean that literally. She is treated as such and even eats at the same time as us (when she feels like it) and your dog will be treated no different than her as all pets deserve the best.

Megan was amazing! She was a last minute booking because our usual dog sitter had a family emergency. We could not have been more pleased. She communicated well and took great care of our dogs and our house! We would definitely recommend her and would book her again. Megan, thanks for everything!

Cory was very communicative and kept me up to date with their daily activities. We had a minor pet illness that happened and Cory made sure we went to the right vet and got the treatment we needed. She got me in touch with the vets and made sure I was able to make the best decision possible. Now the pets are happy, healthy, and back to being goofy.

Jamie is a great sitter! She is very calm, warm, and approachable—which is just what we needed for our overly-anxious Frenchie. She cares about our pet’s well-being, followed the routine we shared, and was communicative while we were away. We look forward to hiring her more in the future!

Erica was wonderful with my three fluffers while I was away on a work trip for a week. She stayed in our home and arrived right on time, communicated often, including videos and pictures, and was very respectful of the house. After a slew of really bad sitters, Erica was a breath of fresh air. We will definitely book with her again. Thank you so much, Eric!

Tara took great care of one large needy dog and a small alpha dog, a cat, 6 snakes, and leopard gecko while we were away for a week. I appreciated the thorough daily updates and quick responses. We even got photos to set our minds at ease each day and comforted that someone so responsible was taking great care of the animal pack. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Tara again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Linthicum Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Linthicum Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Linthicum Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
