I have some flexibility to adjust the hours I work to meet the needs of your pet. That means I can accommodate AM and PM hours. On the weekends I am available for afternoon hours as well.

As I arrive, I take caution opening the front door to ensure your four-legged loved one won’t rush out. After entering, I make sure the door is locked behind me. This allows me to ensure no one can follow me inside, as well as reinforces that the door is closed and your loved pets can’t get out. I ensure that all doors are closed, locked and secured properly before leaving for the day/visit. Water dishes are refreshed everyday. Feedings are completed per your instructions.

I like to meet the dogs and owner before officially accepting any pet-care inquires. This allows me to provide the best care to your animal and get a full understanding of what you as the owner are searching for.
A typical day
I can not currently board animals in my own home, but am more than willing to do drop-in care, daily walks, or even stay the night in a setting they are more familiar with. Walks, if requested, are done around your neighborhood. Each visit will consist of opportunities for play and cuddles.

I’ve been a pet owner my whole life, so when it comes to caring for your Four-legged family member while you’re away, there isn’t anyone better! Guaranteed! You’ll receive photos of your happy pet every visit, with any updates needed. Any special requests or needs are easily accommodated. The entire length of the visit is spent engaged with your pet, whether that is playing, walks, or giving all the cuddles. I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs and cats since 2020 as a volunteer at a shelter! This includes wellness checks, giving medication, as well as cleaning duties. My best friends name is Roxy. She is a Border Collie/Blue Heeler adopted from a shelter in Texas. Her favorite activities include walks, blowing bubbles in the creek, and smiling for treats. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I’ve set my prices low, not as a means to call my services cheap, but because as someone who also loves to travel, I understand the extra expense of having someone look after your pet can really add up. For house sitting or drop-in care, I don't charge for extra pets. It's one flat fee.

Mel was fantastic. Gave us updates on our pups almost daily. Was open to providing unexpected medical care for one of our dogs that happened the day before our trip! I would highly recommend her and definitely use her services again!
This was our second time asking Mel to watch our two boys, and once again she was fantastic. She is wonderful with them, especially since one of our pups is usually shy and takes some time to warm up to new people or even people they’ve met before. Both of them absolutely love her and connected with her right away. Mel kept us updated daily with photos and videos, and she always shared how they were doing, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided and will definitely be reaching out to her again for future trips. Highly recommend!
Widget is always happy to see Mel - he puts on the same shenanigans begging for more snacks and is comfortable. Would always recommend her to cat or dog parents especially if their pets can be a little nervous around new people!
