Briana was great! We had a special situation where our two pups just met and so they had to be separated during her visit. And both of them are anxious. Briana handled it perfectly and was so sweet to them. From the minute we met her we knew she’d be excellent with our pups. She is reliable, responsible, communicative and so sweet. She gave us so much peace of mind we were able to enjoy our vacation. We will definitely use her again. Highly Recommend!

About: I’ve had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember! My pets have ranged from a 15 pound cockapoo to a 180 pound American Mastiff! I am a very gentle and caring person with a flexible mindset and happy to help where I can! I am a teacher who is on summer break! My schedule is fully open and ready to help at any time. I can be very flexible with my schedule and I am ambitious and ready to work. I have cared for dogs in multiple different home environments. I am comfortable with putting your pet in a crate if desired and spent my whole life walking my dogs as well. I’ve also worked with all ages and dogs and have administered medicine, trained dogs, and of course played with them all day long!

Erica did a great job taking care of our home and two kittens while my family was on vacation. She sent us regular updates and left our home in clean and good condition. We appreciated her flexibility when our flight has to be rescheduled. She has a fun personality and we enjoyed her sense of humor. I know our kitties loved her as well. Will rebook in the future. THANKS!!

About: Hello My name is Janay and I am an animal lover. Growing up I had several dogs living with me so I am super comfortable around pets. I have a special place in my heart for dogs. Every time my sister goes out of town I dog sit my nephew pup named Prince. He is a small Yorkie. I used to have a small dog whom i loved named Mobley. I am a mother of a handsome eight year old boy. I am caring and a born nurturer. I treat everyone human or dog as if they are my family. I am warm and compassionate. Caring for others is what is my passion and what I've been put on this earth to do. I am extremely trustworthy and honest. I am an open book. I am very kind and lovable. I went back to college to study computer science online at UMGC. I work from home full time and I have permission to take breaks every 2 hours for walks when I am pet sitting. I work Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30pm. When I’m not working I can devout all my attention to caring for your pet. I only do what is asked of me. If walking a dog I will always have them on a leash & if another animal or person is walking our way I will cross the street or stop and let them pass. I also will only do what the pet allows me too. If they are not wanting to play, I will not force them.

He did have a medical issue and she was prompt about communicating and did all yhe right things interfacing with my vet and keeping me in the loop. As a house sitter, she left the place tidy and it was a great experience!

About: I’ve been a pet owner most of my life and have taken care of pets for friends, family, and neighbors. I am the one they always rely on to care for there’s pets and I hope to do the same for you. I’m currently looking for a job, so I will have lots of free time to care for your pets, and with flexible scheduling to what days you might need. Caring for pets at the client’s home I would make sure to ask where they keep the food, treats, toys for the pets, and cleaning supplies just in case if they make an accident by chance.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since I was a kid and have always enjoyed spending time with animals. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I regularly help care for my siblings’ dogs and my roommates cat! I currently have an internship on Monday and Tuesdays, so I’m available after 6pm on those days. The rest of the week, my schedule is very flexible and I’m available Wednesday through Sunday for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. When caring for pets, I always follow any instructions given and stick to the pet’s usual routine. I try to spend as much time with them as possible and give them plenty of attention and care. I also make sure to send consistent updates and photos!

About: I love four legged (or less) family members and pets. I currently have two pets of my own - a chill 6 year old Australian & Shephard mix, and a fierce independent 8 year old cat. I provide two walks daily for boarders, day care and housesitting, reoccurring walks and drops in for cats and dogs. I am conveniently located 12 min drive from BWI, 14 drive from the Baltimore Greyhound station and less than 5 minutes away from two pet hospitals. What will your fur baby need for their stay? Their food and treats, and we got the rest. Beds, toys, bowls, & Easy Walks and Leash will be used. Dogs must wear a collar and/or be microchipped. If no collar is worn, one will be provided. Cats will be able to stretch their legs freely, enjoy tall cat trees, beds and windowsill perches. Litter/litter box will be provided. What to Know Before Booking: • Meet-and-Greet before their stay, drop-in, day care or housesitting. A 15-20 minute to discuss pet needs will be conducted in the backyard or at your home (drop in, walking or housesitting). • Daily Communication: 1-2 updates a day with photos. Detailed rover cards for walks and drops ins. You will find me to be flexible, reliable and a great pet photographer! • Free-roaming vs. Crates: Dogs will free roam during the day while at home, unless they would benefit from being crated/ require a space to feel safe. At night dogs will either free roam or sleep in crate. •Ensure Safety and Cleanliness: Pet items are routinely washed, including your own. All humans will hand off pets and items outside. Keeps the house clean and Saint/ Amada (dog and cat) and other humans who live here happier. •Hygiene: Just as humans get dolled up for travel. Terms of Service beyond Rover's: Furry guests must be friendly, non-aggressive, get along with cats and can be left alone (constant care (less than four hours) will be the standard rate x 2.5% excluding holiday rates). Luxury Pet Stay: Humans and/or dogs who require to be the only guest will have different pricing $105/ night excluding holiday rates or $50/ day care. What to Expect During Drop off and Pick-Up All pickups and drop-offs are conducted outdoors. We are a no-outdoor shoes household. Please text when you arrive; I will bring your pet and belongings outside. Flexible Pickup and Drop Off Between 9am -9pm. After Hours Pickup and Drop will incur an additional $20 per pickup/drop off or an additional night at standard rate. I am in graduate school, when I'm not studying or in class I have time for taking care of other's fur babies. Caring for pets keeps me sane and brings me joy. At home there is a sizable fenced back yard (6 feet privacy fence) with a Australian/ German shepherd mix who is super friendly, & a cat who sticks to the window. We have plenty of dog toys, treats ( I won't tell the vet), sizeable beds, food bowls and cuddles.

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have tons of experience with high energy dogs because of this. I grew up with Australian Shepherds so I know the importance of making sure your furry friend has had enough exercise. Frisbee is my favorite thing to do with my family’s dog and it allows me to get outside and get active too! Additionally, I grew up in a big neighborhood and was trusted with watching my neighbors dogs that ranged from German Shepherds, to Terriers, and even a Lab with diabetes who needed medication in the form of shots. I am also always open to learning, so if you need someone for a very specific routine or dog, I am very happy to talk! I have experience with puppies to seniors. I work from home all day everyday! So I am very available to hangout with your pets during the weekdays :) I frequently have zoom meetings on Mondays at 10am and Wednesdays at 2pm but should usually never be more than an hour. Meeting times are subject to change but should not be an issue in how and when I take care of your pets :) I am here to support you. No one knows these pets like you - and I am here to listen and follow your routines as you have set them. I will provide updates frequently and should any emergencies arise, I will immediately inform you.

About: I love snuggles, walks, and spending quality time with all pups! I’ve cared for many friends’ and family members’ dogs over the years, and I’m the kind of person who’s always stopping to say hi to as many dogs as possible everywhere I go. I’m dependable, communicative, and attentive. Whether your pup loves playtime and adventures or prefers naps and quiet company, I adapt to what makes them feel happiest and most comfortable. Expect lots of love, attention, photo updates, and peace of mind while your pet is in my care! I work part time and have off during the summer so my schedule is pretty open! I can be available all day if needed on Mon/Wed/Sat/Sun and before and after work on Tuesday/Thurs/Fri I honor your pet’s normal routine and give them lots of attention, affection, and companionship while you’re away. I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, medication instructions, and any other care preferences you have. I also make sure pets get plenty of exercise, playtime, potty breaks, and cuddles based on their personality and energy level. I know being away from their owners can sometimes be stressful for pets, so I create a calm, loving environment where they feel safe and cared for. I’m very respectful of clients’ homes and always keep things clean, organized, and secure. I also send regular photo and message updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and doing well!

We took a chance on Amy after we had a bad experience with a previous sitter, and we are so glad we did. Amy has such a cool and calm vibe and energy. I immediately felt comfortable with her, and so did Rani! She made sure she kept in touch regularly and asked questions to make sure everything went well. She even cleaned our house and washed our sheets before we came home! She also texted us after she left to make sure we arrived home okay and that our dog was not left alone. I cannot recommend Amy enough. She just moved to the area which is why she doesn't have any recent reviews but she's awesome!

FAQs for House Sitting - Brooklyn

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Brooklyn on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,198 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brooklyn. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brooklyn walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brooklyn maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brooklyn choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brooklyn. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
