“Our two cats love Jennifer! She’s conscientious and caring and sends lots of pictures. We always love having her care for our girls. Definitely recommend her services! Thanks again!”
“I couldn't recommend Jen more! I knew from previous experience working with her that she was great with animals and there was no one better to trust my animals with. I have an anti-social husky who most people want to pet and interact with right away but Jen was so good about listening to me about her behaviors and respecting her space. She was able to read her body language well to know when she did and did not want to interact and was just understanding of her needs. I trust very few people with my pets and Jen is one of them!”

“Love Kayli to the fullest!!!! She was amazing my baby had amazing time she had her for a whole week sent pictures daily, kept us up to date on her adventures and new findings her husband also helped watch my Nyla and gave plenty of love and play time. Kayli was a last minute find and was ready to help immediately! She came and met my nyla and us we had good conversation she asked all the right questions and answered all of ours. I am a true mama bear and so is she so she made sure my mind was at ease daily while we were out of town. If you need someone who is loving she is the best choice!!!”

“Courtney was absolutely fantastic! She took great care of our senior kitties (one of which requires several medications). She was very communicative and sent photos to us everyday. I would leave her 10 stars if I could!”

About: Hi! I'm Vince. I'm a 24 year old college student & I have a life time of experience taking care of dogs and other animals of all sorts. I've been working with Rover for about 2 years now. I love animals, dogs especially, and I can take care of feeding, walking and bathing. We have a somewhat small yard, but it's big enough for your dog to run around in, and I'll usually take them for 2-4 walks a day, depending on your instruction. As stated on my profile, I'm willing to take care of boarding, drop-in visits, walking, and overnight stays/drop-ins at your place, if necessary. Don't hesitate to contact me, I'll make sure your pup is happy and gets plenty of attention! :)
“Hannah was absolutely incredible! My dog has a special condition which means he requires pretty constant supervision, and she was so accommodating. I felt really comfortable leaving him with her. She provided me with thorough updates while I was away and was happy to answer my questions! I highly recommend working with Hannah.”

About: I'm a life-long dog owner and have had cats much of my life. Years of volunteering at animal shelters has given me real, hands-on confidence with all kinds of animals and temperaments, including the reactive and anxious ones who need a calm, patient hand. I'm comfortable administering medication, managing mobility limitations, special needs, and the kind of quirks that make pet parents nervous to leave instructions for a new sitter. I also have advanced training for working with dogs with behavior challenges, training protocols, dog and cat body language, and I am currently in the process of getting certified in pet first aid and CPR. No matter the animal, the basics stay the same: sticking to their routine, and sending updates and check-ins so you're never wondering how things are going. Your pet is in calm, capable hands. I work from home and am available for walks and drop-ins in the mornings and evenings, and midday as my schedule allows. I’m also available for house sitting. Have needs outside of this? Let’s talk! If the travel distance exceeds my daily service range, additional fees may apply. For walks and drop-ins, I keep things low-key: familiar environment, familiar routine, minimal disruption to their day. For house sitting, I stay in your home and keep your pet's routine exactly as you left it. I treat your space with the same care I'd want someone to treat mine. Got a weird routine, like needing to fake a 5-star meal, or finding the perfect blade of grass for a potty break? Tell me about it, I'll make it happen.
“Heather and Jennifer were great sitters for our dog Charlie! They were really nice people and trustworthy in our home. We got regular communications from them and they proactively reached out and offered to treat a hot spot they noticed on Charlie’s tail. We would definitely book with them again!”

“Just returned home from a trip where Kemmesha house and dog sat for me! She kept in communication with me during the duration of my trip! My girl, Koko, was well taken care of and in great spirits when I returned home! My house is in pristine condition, maybe even better than I left it! Kemmesha is responsible and such a gem to have as a dog sitter! Thank you so much for your care! Koko can’t wait to see you again!”

“Naya handled all my dog could throw at someone new - from pooping in his crate to trucking her into extra play time outside, naya handled it all perfectly. When I got home, I literally had to reassure my fiance someone did take care of juicy- she left the house with no trace she was here, she only left behind a happy well loved pup! Will be booking naya again!”

“Aleya was AMAZING! She took excellent care of my dog, sent a lot of pictures, she’s great at communicating everything and she’s a very happy person! Will definitely book her again!!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since I was a kid and have always enjoyed spending time with animals. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I regularly help care for my siblings’ dogs and my roommates cat! I currently have an internship on Monday and Tuesdays, so I’m available after 6pm on those days. The rest of the week, my schedule is very flexible and I’m available Wednesday through Sunday for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. When caring for pets, I always follow any instructions given and stick to the pet’s usual routine. I try to spend as much time with them as possible and give them plenty of attention and care. I also make sure to send consistent updates and photos!
“We were so fortunate to find Abby on Rover. She took great care of our dog, Ravyn, and would definitely use her again and recommend her for others looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you Abby!”
“Jessica took great care of my dog and my house. I really appreciated the thorough updates and she sent lots of photos. My dog seemed comfortable and I did not stress while I was away. Would definitely book again.”

“Emily took care of our recently adopted (reactive) dog and our two cats. This occurred around the snow/ice storm in February 2025, which caused havoc with walking the dog and being outside. Yet Emily was up to the task and we came home to a very happy dog and very happy cats! Also, when the dog got into some mischief in the house, Emily contacted me right away to let me know - which I 100% appreciated. Together we came up with a game plan. This was the responsible, honest, and careful way to proceed, which was great. I definitely would use Emily again.”

“Can’t say enough positive things about Raimey! She’s taken care of my two kitties a few times now. Most recently one of my babies was a little sick and required medication two times a day. I was a bit nervous with this falling around the time I was travelling but Raimey made me feel very comfortable and handled it like a pro. She’s great with animals and gives regular updates throughout the day! I highly recommend her for your pet needs ☺️”

“Ruby is such an amazing dog watcher! She always spends extra time with my dog and is a great communicator. I trust her to take care of my dog and my house when she’s gone. Would highly recommend!”

Paige did an amazing job watching our 3 big dogs! We were away for 4 days and never once were we worried about our pups! She settled right into their routine and sent us so many pictures of them. This was our first time using river and Paige and we will definitely be rebooking any time we need her!

Courtney was so great! She stayed with our dog at our home while we were out of town (which was a fairly last minute request from us) and took such good care of her. Loved getting the sweet pictures and videos too. Highly recommend and can’t wait to have Courtney back again!!

Alyssa was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my two kitties, sending regular updates and adorable photos throughout the 2 weeks we were away. They got plenty of love and attention. Leaving your pets behind can be stressful, but Alyssa made both my husband and me feel completely at ease. Thanks to her, we were able to truly relax and enjoy our vacation. We came home to two happy cats and a very clean house. I would highly recommend Alyssa and would love to work with her again!

Carlos is amazing and we HIGHLY recommend him! Went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations. He watched our dogs for 11 days in our home and was very responsible, communicative and reliable. Aside from that, he also did walks for our dogs and was punctual. One of our dogs is on a special diet and is a picky eater and Carlos was able to deal with her no problem. He’s a dog whisperer and even managed to get our people-weary pup to warm up to him. He even took the dogs along with him on mini adventures instead of leaving them at home! We love Carlos and feel blessed to have found him and we will be clients for as long as he will have us.

Love Kayli to the fullest!!!! If you need someone who is loving she is the best choice!!!

Vanessa was such a breath of fresh air and was very sweet and patient with my babies. She took pictures everyday and gave me a sense of peace and i appreciate her for that. I look forward to working with her in the future just because my dogs seem to like her very much. Thanks again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Dundalk
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Dundalk on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,788 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dundalk. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dundalk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dundalk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dundalk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dundalk. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
