“Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Lingli was so sweet and attentive the entire stay and was great about sending videos and pictures. My cat was taken care of so well and she's a really great communicator.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Nikki. She took amazing care of my dog while I was out of town. She was attentive, kept me updated and included photos, which gave me peace of mind. When I came back, my dog was happy, healthy and clearly well-loved. I highly recommend Nikki to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Another excellent experience with Steven! Our large dog stayed the week and came home happy, well exercised, and clean. We appreciate the updates and are always happy with our dog’s stay!”

“Sarah was so kind. I really felt great about Yani’s care with periodic pics and updates from Sarah. She showed really good care for Yani and I would certainly recommend!”

“Ashley was so understanding of the issues I faced the morning of our arrangement. I had listened to my phone in the park while I was walking jojo. I didn’t have directions printed so I had to rely on memory but couldn’t find her house. I went back to my computer and messaged her and she calmly accepted the delay. She is great with Jojo and had her out on walks as well as sleeping happily.”

“I felt comfortable leaving my pup with Nicolas. His home a was clean and spacious, and his neighborhood was suitable for dog walking. Would definitely recommend and request to board with him again.”

“This was my dog’s third stay and he behaves better for Meredith than he does for me! He’s a little… “different” and I’m so glad he has a place he can go where he feels comfortable and can be his quirky self. So thankful for Meredith!”

“Veronica did a great job caring for Coda. I appreciated that she has a system for acclimating new dogs so I wasn’t worried about him being overstimulated and overwhelmed. He came back happy and tired.”

“Marissa is extremely caring and flexible and treats the dogs she watches like family! I consider her house to be a second home for my dog. Unlike a kennel I always know Marissa will be there to snuggle and play with the dogs and the dogs will get tons of time to play together.”

“Shruti was super patient with Flora, and provided plenty of updates and photos without me having to ask. I will definitely be asking her to keep Flora again!”

“I can't say enough about how great of a dog sitter Victoria is and I would recommend her to anyone. She took care of both of my pups and made them feel at home in her place. Thank you Victoria.”

OMG!! What an absolutely fantastic dog sitter! I forgot everything, including dog food. So glad she was able to provide meals for my boy Max! Everything went perfectly, and my furry boy looked so happy and well cared for upon my return. I would absolutely book their services again and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in search of a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter! Tae Said It!

Leah and Shawn were fantastic sitters for my Pitsky, Finnegan! I was traveling from out of state (looking to move to Baltimore) and felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care. They are both very laid-back, knowledgeable people who clearly understand dogs and dog behavior. Finnegan is a higher energy dog, and they were more than capable of handling the things that come along with that. I appreciated receiving updates and a few photos while I was away, which gave me peace of mind he was doing well. When I picked Finnegan up, he seemed very happy, relaxed, and well cared for. I can tell Leah and Shawn have a love for dogs that extends beyond their two very sweet resident pups, Olive and Zoe, who were such gracious hosts to have my little monster as a guest for an extended weekend stay. I would absolutely book with Leah and Shawn again and we fully intend to use them for future stays. Highly recommend!

I’m so grateful that I found Kassandra to board my dog, Benji! The consistent updates and photos provided throughout, gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Kassandra and her adorable son will love your dog like their own to make the absence easier on your pup. Oh, and benji got spoiled with that amazing fenced in yard! 10/10 recommend.

P1 definitely had a great time, and we really appreciate the care you gave him. One small thing we noticed afterward was that all the food we prepared was gone, which ended up being a bit more than his usual amount. He had a couple more bowel movements than normal, so we think he may have been slightly overfed. Just wanted to mention this for future reference. Thank you again!

2nd time watching Mika! Brittney is so easy to work with and kept my puppy safe over night on a holiday! Mika boarded at her home and had a great time playing with their puppy. Brittney is super easy to communicate with and very responsive to my texts or calls. I'm looking fwd to having her watch my girl again for sure!

As a first time Rover user of the sitting service, Mila eased my anxiety with the care she provided to my senior dog. I was had not worries while out of town. She updated me and kept in communication along with sending pics. She is wonderful and my dog took to her beautiful energy. Thank you Mila for your exceptional service!

The best Dog Sitter we’ve ever had! Very good with the dogs, they came back very happy. Very good with the communication. She took lots of pictures. Very good condition conditions you can tell by the pictures of things are neat and tidy. We will definitely be using Gloria again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
