“Phyo is a patient and excellent sitter! My dog, Tony can sometimes be a bit difficult, and Phyo was patient during our first meet and greet. He also lives in a great neighborhood, so you can be rest assured that you furry friend will have a great time staying with him. I will be using Phyo again!”
“Casey and Marwa are the most accommodating and caring dog sitters, we have ever had. They do their best to keep with the routines that Indiana knows and then add extra long walks, treats, brushing, playing, and lots of love. Their Pug Kevin is so cute and friendly. On top of that, they are super-flexible with drop off and pick up times and took Indy in on very short notice. Will definitely be back”

“Jim and Mary watched my two dogs for 10 weeks while I was working out of town, and they were the perfect dogsitters. They were very communicative and sent lots of photos, and I never had”

Lydia supplied daily updates with pictures and couldn’t have been any more helpful. I will definitely utilize her services again hopefully (I will be boarding Sophie again in April). Thanks again for the stellar job you did Lydia, my wife and I couldn’t be happier with Sophie’s care! Mike & Lisa”

We will not hesitate to book with Odessa again!”

“This is the 2nd time Lastat and Dozier stayed with Virginia overnight. Virginia sent pictures of my fur babies relaxing(which means they are very comfortable). It appeared as though they had a great stay!! They both came home, had dinner, and relaxed the rest of the evening. Virginia is awesome!!!”
“Theresa was amazing with my senior pup! I loved receiving daily updates and photos of my little one. My guy is a timid little one, but he opened up with Theresa and her family and surprised us both by giving them a little lick. She went above and beyond by washing his bed and giving him a quick rub down after he had an accident. I definitely would recommend Theresa for your sitter needs. She’s a real gem.”

“My dog had a wonderful stay with Brianna! She is caring and conscientious, and she sent lots of texts and photos throughout the stay. I could tell my buddy was having a grand time going on walks, enjoying playtime and lots of attention! I highly recommend Brianna!”

I'm so glad we found her to take care of our Zoe - and as a dog trainer myself, I don't trust just anyone with my pup.”

Thank you, Robin for taking such great care of our pups! We appreciate it and would definitely recommend her services to anyone.”

“Jerry was so amazing with our dog, Puffin! It was our first time leaving him for an extended period of time since moving to Maryland, and I was having major anxiety about finding someone reliable. Jerry is such a kind person and followed all of my instructions. He sent daily updates and photos, which made me feel at ease. We will definitely be using him in the future and I highly recommend him! Thanks Jerry! :)”

Brisa & Jackson were wonderful! They were willing to accept my cat-like dog's quirks and took excellent care of our twelve-year-old shiba inu. They provided daily photos and updates and Holly came home the calmest and most relaxed she ever has - it was clear she was not anxious or stressed with them and had been cared for as if she was their own! Would board Holly with them again and highly recommend them!

Our dog Bax loved hanging out with Anita! I think he missed her when we left. Anita did an amazing job with communicating on when she walked our dog and how he was doing. She also sent random pictures of him just to send which was really nice. I would definitely book again!!

Mariah is the perfect sitter for my Bentley…I was gone on a cruise for 8 days and Bentley was in Mariah’s care for 10 days and she is outstanding!!! Bentley even received while in her care as well. Highly recommended, Greatly appreciated. Will definitely request her again for a 4th time.

We had a wonderful experience with Ayanna and her family! She was incredibly attentive and treated our boy with so much love and care—like he was part of her own family. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does. We’ll absolutely be back and highly recommend her services!

Keyona was beyond amazing! This is my third time boarding my Goldendoodle and Bernedoodle with her. She takes great care of them making sure they get enough walks, play time, cuddles, and snacks. My pups love her pups Annie and Bentley. They don’t have any issues with her cat. Overall I feel very at ease leaving my pets with Keyona because I know they’re in a loving and caring environment. She even went the extra mile and took them to their grooming appointment during their last boarding. I am extremely grateful to have found her and I recommend her if you’re looking for boarding services.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
