“Susan was so good with my senior Yorkie - staying with her was a no brainer. She’s detail oriented and asks thoughtful questions - right away I knew Soog was in the best hands.”

“Karen and Patrick are the best! We felt so comfortable leaving our dog with them and the pictures they sent showed that he was having a wonderful time. We will definitely use them again!”

“Jessica and her family embraced my baby Chase like he was apart of their family. He spent an entire week with her and the experience was amazing. She will be my forever sitter.”

“Casey and Marwa are the most accommodating and caring dog sitters, we have ever had. They do their best to keep with the routines that Indiana knows and then add extra long walks, treats, brushing, playing, and lots of love. Their Pug Kevin is so cute and friendly. On top of that, they are super-flexible with drop off and pick up times and took Indy in on very short notice. Will definitely be back”

“Ximena is the best!! she was very helpful with our dog Hinata, very understanding and caring when it came to Hinata. She is very good at what she does, if its walking, sitting, or just showing love to our pet she is the best! I highly recommend!”

“Nikki was great! She was flexible and seemed to understand what our reserved, sometimes anxious girl needed to feel comfortable. We appreciated knowing she was in good hands.”

“Nautica was great! This was the first time boarding my puppy. Nautica scheduled a meet and greet before I left her. And, she was so accommodating - my schedule changed as my flight was delayed. I will book with her again.”

“I went on vacation for six days and left UNO in Robin's capable hands and care. Robin sent videos and updates on UNO. He had a good time with the other dogs. I will definitely be using Robin again to take care of UNO. Robin will shower your dog with the same love and care that she gives her own dog. When I saw and read Robin's profile I knew she was the person to leave UNO with. Thanks again Robin for your patience and tlc for UNO.”

“Ginnie took amazing care of my puppy Mischa while my boyfriend and I were in Italy for two weeks. She is great with animals and has a real gift for caring for dogs. And I know my puppy loved her big yard. I will definitely be using her again!”

“Jasmine was SO helpful with a last minute need for our pooch Hansen!! She was gracious enough to offer a meet and greet despite the last minute booking, which made me feel more comfortable already. She was kind enough to send updates, asked good questions, and put me at ease leaving him with her. I look forward to trusting Jasmine with Hansen in the future! Thank you, Jasmine!”

“I felt comfortable leaving my pup with Nicolas. His home a was clean and spacious, and his neighborhood was suitable for dog walking. Would definitely recommend and request to board with him again.”

“I can't say enough good things about Esther and Yi. They were communicative and took great care of my pup Tilda. I received great photos of her playing with their pups and relaxing around the house. I would definitely have Tilda stay with Esther and Yi again if schedules permit.”

“Bria was wonderful with my big boy while I was away on travel. She is extremely responsive and sends cute pictures with updates so you’re aware of your pup’s adjustment. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!!”

“My Paisley had an amazing time and was well exercised and fed. She loved being with this family. She didn't even have time to miss me. I'm happy there's somewhere she'll be happy and well cared for, for future trips.”
“Jen was awesome with Max and Daizy! I’m always a little nervous leaving them, but she made me feel so much better with updates and how well she handled everything. My pups can be a little particular, and she did great with them. You can tell she really cares. Definitely would book her again!”

“Cheryl and her family were amazing again! Our dog is not comfortable everywhere, so it makes us so happy that he enjoys his stays with her and is himself! Thank you again and we will be seeing you soon!”

Terry was absolutely AMAZING with my dog! Given that this was a last minute booking during a holiday, I was super grateful he took him in. Terrys house is perfect for dogs as well. He has a huge backyard so much space for him to run around. I was updated constantly with lots of photos which made me feel so at ease. 10000% recommend and will definitely be using Terry again for future stays.

From the meet and greet to pickup, Stanley was incredible! Very communicative, friendly, and warm towards us and Scruffy. We knew Scruffy would be in great hands in a loving home while we were away. Highly recommend Stanley and will 100% book him next time we need a sitter!

This is our second time having our pup Niko stay with Karen and her family and we are so grateful! We joke that while we’re on vacation, Niko is also on vacation at Karen’s house because he is so well taken care of. We definitely recommend Karen and her family!

Jenna was an amazing choice to board for me while I was out of town. My chihuahua has separation anxiety so I was nervous, but Jenna was willing to do 2 meet and greets with us and was very inquisitive about her habits or behaviors to look out for. She was very communicative with updates throughout the day and photos. She’ll be moving soon but I hope not far as I’ll absolutely be reaching out to book her again.

Erin was fantastic! My dog is only 5 pounds and can easily slip out of the front door when someone is at the door. Erin was VERY consciences of my concerns and I was very comfortable with her visit even though this was our first time boarding with Erin. You are in good hands with Erin!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
