“Kimberly was very sweet and great to work with. She made sure my pup had the best care possible and was very patient with him. She was extremely communicative and I appreciated that. Would book again!”

“Karen was a delight from our first meet and greet throughout the process. We were completely confident in her ability to care for our large dog. She was attentive and thoughtful in asking questions regarding his care. We appreciated all the photos and communication while he was at her home. She gave him tons of attention from walks to belly rubs and snuggles. We would recommend her without reservation and look forward to booking with her again!”

“I cannot recommend Stephanie enough! From the moment I dropped him off, Stephanie kept in constant contact with me, sending me updates and photos of Jax having the time of his life. I felt completely at ease leaving Jax in her capable hands. And when I picked him up, Jax was happy, healthy, and had clearly been well taken care of. Stephanie went above and beyond to make sure Jax had everything he needed - from plenty of playtime to lots of cuddles and attention. If you're looking for a Rover who will give your furry friend the love and care they deserve, look no further than Stephanie. She's simply the best!”

“Will and Adriele were great! Our two pups had a wonderful time while staying with them. They were easy and responsive to communicate with and sent photos and updates a couple times a day. I'd recommend a stay with Will and Adriele!”
“Thank you so much for taking such phenomenal care of Snoopy! You completely put our minds at ease from the start. The daily photo updates were great and put our minds at ease. It was clear that he was in good hands. Snoopy came home happy and relaxed and we will definitely be booking again!”

“Alonni’s love for animals shows through her kindness! She watched our dog Buddy (who can be a handful) during thanksgiving weekend and she did a great job!. She sent us lots of pictures and maintained constant communication with us, even sent Buddy home with a goodbye gift! Would recommend her 10/10!”

“Jessica and her family embraced my baby Chase like he was apart of their family. He spent an entire week with her and the experience was amazing. She will be my forever sitter.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“We had recently moved to the area and needed someone to care for our dog while we were out of town. Carla sent pictures every day and really treated our dog like her own. Carla’s care and communication are top notch. We are so lucky to have found her!”

“This was my first time using Rover for my grand pup, and I was nervous. But the moment I met Robin, her energy immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly responsive and even sent pictures and videos without me asking—she already knew what I needed! The best part? My grand pup ran right into her home like she had been there before. No hesitation at all. That’s when I knew I chose the right provider.”

“Ebony did a great job with our Rusty. She sent pictures and videos every day. When he had an upset belly and needed a diet modification, she had no problem making adjustments! Thanks, Ebony!”

“Frances was great with Stella. She took great care of her, made her feel at home, made sure she ate, and took her to work with her. I would definately give Frances a call again. I also really liked that she took the time to send pics of Stella throughout her stay. Thanks, Frances!”
“Nicole and her family were amazing. I received a constant flow of updates and pictures. It was just a relief to know that my puppy was in such great hands.”

“My 2 year old dog has stayed with Sophia many times. She is excited to get out of the car and loves to visit to stay and play! Sophia sends multiple pictures. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Our shy fussy mini poodle seemed to enjoy his stay with Priscilla! He even ran back to say goodbye to her when my husband picked her up. Will leave my little guy with her again!”

“Virgina watched my retired guide dog Harry in her home while I was traveling for business. She made sure everyone would get along beforehand and took time to meet and talk with me. This was the first time Harry was staying with someone he didn't know and I was worried he'd be anxious. He had a good time with her senior dog Chip. I'll likely book with her again.”

“Virginia and Steven were very helpful and accommodating throughout the process of booking a stay for my dog Bessie. I was happy that there were other dogs in the home and Bessie had an amazing time playing with them.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Eldersburg
Megan was wonderful with our dog, Dolly! She had a last minute cancellation and we were fortunate to be able to book her. She stayed in touch throughout the stay and sent regular updates and photos. Dolly received lots of attention during her stay, seeing how she made herself right at home with Megan. We had a great overall experience and would absolutely book with Megan again. Highly recommend!

James and Mary were wonderful! They took great care of our two pups and sent lots of pictures and updates throughout their stay! Our dogs usually come home a bit stressed when we have used other boarding places, but after picking our boys up, they were super happy and relaxed! We look forward to using them again!

We had a wonderful experience with Lydia! She and her family took excellent care of our dog while we were away, kept us updated with messages and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear our pup was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We truly appreciated her reliability, kindness, and genuine care for our dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their dogs!

We had our rambunctious pups boarded for 5 days with Veronica and family. We will 100% book with them again and I highly recommend them! They communicate very well, send updates and are easy going and patient with them. Definitely a home away from home for our pups!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
