“Just picked up my pups from staying with Alex for the weekend. They had a great weekend playing with Reese. Alex sent us pics of them and they were so relaxed and happy. They look forward to staying again!!!”

“Amber and her family took good care of our dog, Bella, for the weekend! She responded promptly to messages and coordinating our meet and greet and pick up/drop off times. She sent pictures during Bella’s stay and it seemed like Bella enjoyed her time!”

“Loved loved LOVED Nicole. King’s transition was so smooth. She stayed in communication. Made us feel comfortable from the beginning to the end. King will definitely be back.”

“Unlike previous stays at kennels Gator came home happy and relaxed. Steven was in contact with us constantly sending text messages about his daily routine and photos. He was thorough in the screening process to ensure that Gator would be a good fit. We will be using Steven again!”
“Ebony did a great job with our Rusty. She sent pictures and videos every day. When he had an upset belly and needed a diet modification, she had no problem making adjustments! Thanks, Ebony!”

“Hannah took such great care of our dog! Our dog can't go off leash, and Hannah did an awesome job of keeping her safe while getting her plenty of exercise and play!”

“Simon had a great stay with Heather! She was great about communicating and sending pictures while we were away. She was also great about making sure he got enough energy out during the day with walks and play time. It's so nice to have a family to take him to that is similar to our home while we are away. Definitely recommend.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Kelly was amazing! She took such good care of my dog and kept him entertained and active the entire time. You can tell she is an animal lover and really treats your pet like part of her family. My dog was sad to leave! Loved the frequent photos and updates as well. Highly recommend.”

“I am extremely pleased with the care provided. She was an excellent caregiver, very attentive to my pet and treated her with the same love and kindness I would. I will definitely choose her services again. Her customer service and dedication were outstanding.”

“Thx, Robin & family for lovingly caring for Haiku :-) Never-bored, she enjoyed play times & fun with exciting new friends ... an all-around thriving "vacation" experience we're most grateful for ... truly a "home-away-from-home"!”

“Ariel is an extremely dedicated and kind dog sitter. When our pup was homesick and struggling, she did everything in her power to provide love and security for our dog. She took the dog on long walks to get out the energy and even went out of her way to purchase bones from Petco for our dog to chew on. We are so appreciative.”

“Will and Adriele were amazing!! They sent lots of updates while I was away, and I could tell that my pup was very comfortable and having a fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!”

“Another fantastic stay with Theresa. Misa is always so well taken care of at her house and I never have to worry. She sends pictures every day and a check in. Theresa and her daughter Lyv are our go to sitters when we travel.”

“Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Samantha is a good care taker. She knows how to care for my senior dog. Her house was great with Winston’s company and has a nice backyard full of good smells. She’s a great communicator and send updates frequently.”

“Great sitters for my pup. They provided photos and updates while I was away. My dog seemed really happy, calm in his photos so I knew he was in good hands! Virginia & Steve were very accommodating of my travel plans, I would rebook & recommend them.”

“Shakiyla was soo wonderful and helpful throughout this whole process. This was a last minute effort to find where my dog could board for a couple days and she was so flexible with me and really helpful. I’m so grateful and glad it worked out.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Finksburg
Lora really went above and beyond to care for our dog! You can tell it’s not just a side job for her, but instead a passion. Her home and yard were set to accommodate dogs well and she even provided 3 treats a day from her large treat collection! She sent multiple photos each day in addition to messages about how our dog was doing. Lora will definitely be my first choice next time I leave Betsy! Betsy was well loved and taken care of!

Jena is an amazing dog sitter and took wonderful care of my dogs while we were on vacation. She has a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys, a dog ramp, and a kiddie pool for them to splash around in. Jena keeps the dogs on a good schedule and gives them plenty of love and attention. I loved receiving the daily videos and pictures of my happy pups every day. We will definitely book with Jena again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
