“Steven's tagline couldn't be more true, because he DOES care. He took care of Rosie like she was his own. Steven is professional, thorough, responsive and willing to give much-appreciated advice. All of which is all too rare these days, in my opinion.”

“Lydia was fantastic! She welcomed her home to us with her lovely family including her chickens during our meet and greet. We proceeded to boarding 2 nights with her. Her home provided a warm, cozy and energetic vibe for our Poodle who is out going and craves human interaction. Lydia was not familiar with poodle grooming initially but after a quick demonstration and positive feedback she mastered it in no time. I appreciated her attention to detail, ability to communicate throughout the day and her willingness to learn how to care for specific dog breeds. It was a mutual rewarding experience and she even supervised her children doing obedience training with our pup.”

“Amber and her family took good care of our dog, Bella, for the weekend! She responded promptly to messages and coordinating our meet and greet and pick up/drop off times. She sent pictures during Bella’s stay and it seemed like Bella enjoyed her time!”

“Ebony did a great job with our Rusty. She sent pictures and videos every day. When he had an upset belly and needed a diet modification, she had no problem making adjustments! Thanks, Ebony!”

“As usual, Nicole was absolutely incredible! Taz stayed with her overnight and from the pictures she sent you would think he was at a fun doggy daycamp, all smiles in every shot. He loves spending time with Nicole and her family and I could tell how comfortable and happy he was. I’m so thankful for their attentive care. On top of that, I reached out last minute and she didn’t hesitate, she even came to pick him up. Her service is truly impeccable and I’m beyond grateful to have someone I can trust with my son.”

“Heather did a fabulous job taking care of our sweet girl, Stella! Stella lived her best life enjoying time on the farm! Thank you for all of the great care and communication!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Kelly and her husband are simply amazing. From booking to post-pick-up, their communication was clear and timely. During Leo's stay with them, Kelly sent me photos, videos, and update comments numerous times throughout the day. It made a huge difference for me and my daughter (9 yo) who missed Leo very much during our trip. They were so warm and kind to Leo, and I could tell that they truly cared for the pet they were looking after. They took Leo to exciting walks, let him play off leach in their backyard, and cuddled with him. I know they've done all of this because they send me so many pictures. Leo looked very comfortable and content in the photos and videos. I highly recommend Kelly and her husband!!!”

“Danielle, her family and her two dogs were the best of hosts!!! Danielle works from home so she was always there to take care Juney and all of her food needs, walking needs and taking her out back to her fenced yard to play and get all the energy out. She also kept us updated every day with how she was doing and also with great pics to show the fun she was having or just relaxing. We couldn’t be happier. Danielle is awesome! I look forward to using her again for Juneau!!!”

“This is our first time with Rover and we could not have found a better person/family for our beloved recent rescue to stay with for a few days. We know our rescue needs lots of love and patience and we are so grateful that Theresa understands that and in addition only takes one client at a time. This was perfect as we saw how much of a difference it makes for our dog vs being at a doggie daycare center. She provides updates and pictures to ease our minds and always on top of communication. We are so grateful! And will be repeat customers.”

“Aida was a wonderful sitter and my dog had a great time with her! He enjoyed time spent in her large yard, many walks, and an overall comfortable stay. She shared frequent updates and pictures, and was happy to adapt to my dog’s routine and quirks. I felt so comfortable and was able to enjoy my trip, knowing my dog was in fabulous care.”

“Robin went above and beyond to make sure my pup felt at home and loved! This was my first time leaving my fur baby with someone other than family. Needless to say, I was an emotional wreck. As we were leaving, we thought our dog would start crying and scratching at the door, but no, she followed Robin inside immediately. Robin took many videos and pictures throughout my dogs stay and sent them to me knowing I was a bit nervous. This calmed my nerves and I was able to enjoy my vacation. I’m going to definitely leave my baby with Robin when I go again!!!”

“Terry is wonderful! He recently watched our two boys after losing our long time Rover. Terry Will definitely be our new Rover moving forward. Communicative, personable, amazing with our dogs (even with our timid one who warmed up to him very quickly), and you can tell he cares about each dog tremendously.”
“Happy to have found her on Rover.com. My Lucky is being taken care of very well. I like knowing I have somewhere for him to go when I have long days at work and his not a home bored. Will definitely use her again.”

“This was my first time using Roover and I can say Jessica surpassed my expectations for a sitter. I was hesitant to leave our puppy with just anyone, but after meeting Jessica I knew he was in good hands. I look forward to using her in the future.”
“Hugo loved his stay with Melissa and her pups! I could tell because he didn’t want to go home. Melissa is definitely a dog person as Hugo adapted to her immediately, this was his first stay. Will definitely rebook with Melissa!”

Jena is an amazing dog sitter and took wonderful care of my dogs while we were on vacation. She has a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys, a dog ramp, and a kiddie pool for them to splash around in. Jena keeps the dogs on a good schedule and gives them plenty of love and attention. I loved receiving the daily videos and pictures of my happy pups every day. We will definitely book with Jena again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
