“This was my very 1st time being away from my fur baby & Carla made the process smooth. Very caring & kept me updated. The pictures helped a lot as well. Thank you so much again. This overall experience was a 10/10.”

“They took phenomenal care of my pup over the holidays! He was in great hands! When I picked him up they had even made him his own bandana! I would definitely trust them to take care of my boy again!”
“My pups had a great time with Adrienne, who accommodated us last minute. Our pups are high anxiety and they settled in quickly and happily for a couple of nights at her place. She’s great about providing the amount of updates you feel comfortable with, and was thoughtful with how she prepared for their stay. I would definitely recommend!”

“Heather's home is a dog's little slice of heaven. Awesome property for dogs to run, swim, chase critters and get TLC. She was very responsive and communicated perfectly. I know my dog had a great time playing with another dog she was boarding, and playing with her little girl as well. Thank you so much for caring for my dog and all the cute pics too :) I'd absolutely recommend booking with her!”

“Cola was well taken care of for her overnight stay with Auana! I received photo updates and they treated her like one of their own! Even going the extra mile to brush her and send her back so happy :)”

“Karen was extremely nice, very welcoming of our pup Milo! she kept me updated with videos and pics which really showed how happy and safe Milo was! I really recommend her and will definitely keep booking with her in a future😊😊”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.

“Kacy took such great care of our dog! We were able to enjoy our trip with no worries about her at all. Many photos and videos of her so we could see how she was doing along with notes from Kacy. Definitely 5 + star rating and will absolutely have our dog vacation with Kacy in the future!”

“This is our first time with Rover and we could not have found a better person/family for our beloved recent rescue to stay with for a few days. We know our rescue needs lots of love and patience and we are so grateful that Theresa understands that and in addition only takes one client at a time. This was perfect as we saw how much of a difference it makes for our dog vs being at a doggie daycare center. She provides updates and pictures to ease our minds and always on top of communication. We are so grateful! And will be repeat customers.”

“Ebony did a great job with our Rusty. She sent pictures and videos every day. When he had an upset belly and needed a diet modification, she had no problem making adjustments! Thanks, Ebony!”

“Nat and Ally and their kids were such a wonderful family and took perfect care of our husky. They understand how to take care of dogs and how to help integrate dogs that are more shy (like our husky). Nat and Ally were also very communicative and always sent updates. I could not recommend a better family for dog sitting!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Leaving Violet with someone new is never easy because she's a sweet girl with a few quirks. She loves long walks, naps, sunshine, and belly rubs. She also has a strong prey drive (especially for bunnies!), so we really appreciate sitters who pay attention to the details. From the moment we met, we knew Violet was in great hands. Our sitter took the time to understand her routine, made sure she got plenty of walks and sniffs, and gave her all the love and attention she thrives on. We received regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind, and it was obvious Violet felt comfortable, relaxed, and cared for throughout her stay. When we picked her up, she was happy, well cared for, and settled right back into life at home, which is always the best sign that she had a wonderful boarding experience. We're incredibly grateful for the care and attention Violet received and are already booked again for an upcoming trip. If you're looking for someone who will treat your dog like family, we highly recommend them!”

“As always, Kelly and her family were amazing. They took care of our Leo as their own and updated us several times a day with photos and notes. We were so thankful that Leo was in good hands during our out of country trip.”

“John and his wife did a great job with our pug, Ellie. They have a really nice house with a good sized fenced yard. They exercised Ellie and gave her the allergy pills. They sent us some great pictures and video of Ellie. I highly recommend them, and I will be using them again!”

“Such great pictures and comments the whole time our dog was being watched by Brittanie and Ryan. My dog seemed so relaxed and absolutely loved the yard that he could run around in, along with having some other dogs to play with. Highly recommend and we will definitely be using them again!”

Had a wonderful experience working with Asani. She was extremely kind, professional, and accommodating throughout the entire process. My schedule ended up having a few unexpected delays, and she was incredibly flexible and understanding, which I truly appreciated. She made the entire experience stress-free and communicated clearly every step of the way. It gave me real peace of mind knowing my dog was in good hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter. I would absolutely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
