“Heather did a fabulous job taking care of our sweet girl, Stella! Stella lived her best life enjoying time on the farm! Thank you for all of the great care and communication!”

“Jena did a great job. I had total peace of mind while my dog was with her. I got cute updates throughout, and she was very professional and took excellent care of my pup. Her house and yard are so fun and perfect for dogs. I’ll definitely be using her again and highly recommend her services!”

“Steven was great! He is very knowledgeable about dogs! He did a very thorough meet and greet prior to BG staying with him. BG had a great time and he sent tons of pictures!”

About: Hello! I am a veterinary technician of 8 years and pet owner of 20+ years who is highly experienced in animal care and petsitting. As a cat, horse, and previous dog owner myself I understand that our pets are our family! I look forward to meeting your fur baby! I work part time hours and am off weekends and holidays. I’m happy to spend my free time playing, walking, and spending time with your pet! While at work crates, gates, or free roam can be used depending on your pets needs and comfort. Pets will be monitored through pet cams during working hours. While in my home pets can have free roam or access to a crate depending on their needs and comfort. For walks I utilize harnesses and if needed can add a back up slip lead if owner feels more comfortable to ensure safety. Pets will always have access to fresh water and toys and will be well loved while in my care!
“I have left Yoda with Lingli on multiple occasions when I'm out of town. My experience with her has always been great! She takes very good care of him and he is always happy to see her :) She is also very diligent at keeping me updated with photos which I greatly appreciate! I highly recommend her :)”

“Sadie did really well staying with Jacob and Megan – with getting older, she has some anxiety when she’s not at home and can be a little 'stubborn'. They were very accommodating and I appreciated the extra effort. I would definitely use them again to watch Sadie!”

“Another amazing stay with Danielle! This is the second time Coco has stayed with her for an extended visit, and once again, we couldn’t be happier. It truly feels like a doggy vacation paradise for her. We know she is so well cared for, and we’ll absolutely be back again.”

“Auana was excellent! My puppy was in great hands, she is super responsive and gave me updates throughout my dog’s stay with her. Her willingness to follow my dog’s care plan was extra comforting. Will be booking her again!”

“Melissa was great with Lilly and very accommodating with our small change in the number of days that she was needed. She sent pictures so that I could see that my pup was getting along well with the other dogs that she had which I was worried about. It was clear that she loves dogs and had a good command of discipline them. I will use her again and recommend her to others. A big thank you!!”

“Jess is simply amazing with my elderly and very high maintenance Havanese. He has serious separation anxiety but I never worry about him when I drop him off. She’s very attentive and patient and will go out of her way to make him comfortable. She’s really the only one I trust with my baby 🥰”

“Ariel did an awesome job with my 13 month old shih tzu. Her professionalism, care, and attention to details were very much appreciated. She is the best pet sitter in my opinion.”

“Lydia was an exceptional boarder, I would highly recommend her to keep your pet in her home. Her whole family welcomed Sophie like she was their own! Lydia supplied daily updates with pictures and couldn’t have been any more helpful. I will definitely utilize her services again hopefully (I will be boarding Sophie again in April). Thanks again for the stellar job you did Lydia, my wife and I couldn’t be happier with Sophie’s care! Mike & Lisa”

“Aida was a wonderful sitter and my dog had a great time with her! He enjoyed time spent in her large yard, many walks, and an overall comfortable stay. She shared frequent updates and pictures, and was happy to adapt to my dog’s routine and quirks. I felt so comfortable and was able to enjoy my trip, knowing my dog was in fabulous care.”

“Elizabeth took great care of my dog. She gave lots of updates and was a pleasure to work with. My dog loves her and seemed so happy while she boarded with her.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life. My childhood cat lived to 22, and I grew up with Golden Retrievers, including helping care for a litter of puppies. I also worked as an assistant manager at a large pet daycare facility and now have two rescue dogs of my own. I’m very active and love walking, so I’m happy to give dogs plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention based on their needs. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine. I work part-time in a flexible office role and can also work remotely, while I am building my real-estate career. That gives me the ability to plan my schedule around walks, drop-ins, feedings, playtime, and staying consistent with each pet’s routine. In my home, pets are treated like family. I have a fenced yard, a large back porch, a walkable neighborhood, and a park nearby for walks and playtime. My two rescue dogs are used to sharing the furniture, so visiting pets will have plenty of comfortable places to relax and feel at home. In a client’s home, I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, playtime, medication instructions, and any house rules—while keeping you updated with photos and messages. As a former college coach and admissions counselor, I have spent most of my career in trusted, responsibility-heavy roles, and I bring that same attentiveness and care to every pet.
“Ebony did a great job with our Rusty. She sent pictures and videos every day. When he had an upset belly and needed a diet modification, she had no problem making adjustments! Thanks, Ebony!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
