“Marissa is extremely caring and flexible and treats the dogs she watches like family! I consider her house to be a second home for my dog. Unlike a kennel I always know Marissa will be there to snuggle and play with the dogs and the dogs will get tons of time to play together.”

“Kaylynn was great! I was a little nervous before I left my dog because I had never used someone I didn’t know before, but Kaylynn quickly put my mind at ease. She texted me often with updates, sent lots of videos and responded to my messages quickly. I won’t hesitate to use her again”

“Alex did an amazing job with my boys! I could tell from their smiling faces that they were being loved and well taken care of. I received prompt updates and pictures of them having a good time. He definitely made my trip worry free! I look forward to booking him again! Thanks again!”

“Ruth and her family are so welcoming! Besa felt right at home and we felt relieved knowing she was surrounded by so much love during her stay. Will definitely be booking with them again.”

“Wow! What an amazing experience! I felt at ease knowing my Bentley boo was in the hands of Lisa! When asked, Lisa provided an update with videos! I’m considering booking a few daycare stays for my baby with her because she’s that great! Her home was beat and clean and Bentley had other fur babies to engage with. I’m so happy I found her!”

“Our Bellatrix's first time with Crissy and she had a wonderful time. Crissy was great keeping in touch and sending pics. Thank you Crissy. Bellatrix will see you and Dublin again soon ☺️”

“Elizabeth was an amazing dog sitter. She watched our newly adopted dog Donkey for 3 nights when we had to travel unexpectedly for a funeral. She gave Donkey exceptional care. She kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and really left us at ease especially during an already stressful time. I would highly recommend Elizabeth!!”

“Emily was a great option to board our dog with. She was very interactive and communicative. She sent us pictures regularly. She was very warm and welcoming, and made our dog feel at home from the beginning. We will definitely be boarding our dog with her again.”

About: I've cared for dogs my entire life as an owner. Ive had small dogs, terriers, and their strong will and playfulness to large dogs, ie German Shepard, and their willfulness and loyalty. I love them all and understand how to build trust with a pet. Ive also become a cat owner to tow boys bringing our home pack to 2 dogs and 2 cats. Currently I have a flexible schedule for drop ins during the day or evening. I am glad to feed them, play, and take out for breaks. Available any day except Sundays. Our home has invisible fence and our dogs are trained to remain in the years. We have also had fenced yards in the past. I can and do walk smaller dogs.
“Shannon not just took good care of our little old man-dog, but seemed to really enjoy him, too! And she took the best photos we have of him. A delight to communicate with, and what a relief to find someone we trust to look after our dog!”

“Chris was great with Koto. This was a last minute booking and also our first time using Rover. We were pleasantly surprised. Chris was wonderful with Koto and provided pictures and updates daily. When we picked up Koto he was the same energetic friendly boy and his stool was not soft or diarrhea (results of a previous bad boarding experience). And Chris made Koto his own personalized bag with his name and picture on the bag. How special is that! This was a great experience and we will definitely be using Chris in the future! .”

“Casey took great care of my dog while I was out of the country for a few days. She kept me updated with daily messages and pictures. She was accommodating to my drop off/pick up times. I will definitely be using her again!”

“Shana and her family were amazing. We received loads of updates throughout the week. It was clear to us they'd welcomed our dog Ziggy as if he was part of their family. Ziggy made fast friends with their dog Bella who is an absolute sweetheart. They took the dogs on lots of hikes, fed them homemade treats, and shared toys. Our dog probably received more attention than he normally does at home! We will definitely rebook with Shana and highly recommend her.”

“My dog’s stay at Rodney & Marissa’s was good. My dog had never spent overnight away from home nor been with other dogs. This was a new experience for her. Rodney is very compassionate about animals. I appreciate he and his wife caring for Chloe while I was away. It certainly eased my worries. I more so appreciated the pictures and updates. Each text put a smile on my face knowing that Chloe was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Rodney & Marissa to others. Thank you.”

“Janelle and Joanna were amazing! We have a puppy who is definitely in training. I was very worried about leaving him, especially since he was still newer to us. Janelle met Remy and me a few days before with her adorable pup Zoey. She had great communication prior to visit, during, and after. Remy felt very comfortable at her place. I am thankful for the extra TLC and patience she showed our boy. We will definitely being calling again for future needs! Thank you ?”

About: I have more than 15 years of experience caring for both cats and dogs, and I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I'm dependable, detail-oriented, and especially comfortable caring for pets with complex care instructions, including medications, special feeding schedules, senior pets, or multi-pet households. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you're away. I enjoy spending quality time with them so they don't feel lonely, whether that means playing, cuddling, or taking long walks with your dog. I believe pets thrive when they receive companionship, consistency, and plenty of attention. I'm also happy to help care for your home by bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, taking out trash, and completing other small household tasks while you're away. I follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I carefully follow feeding, medication, litter box or potty routines, and spend quality time playing, walking, or simply keeping them company so they don't feel lonely. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
