“Alex took great care of my Mini Aussie Tango these last several days, including timely communication and updates! His place with the large enclosed grass yard was perfect for Tango to get her energy out. She really enjoyed her time with Alex’s dog Reese and came home happy and exhausted!”

“Ariel was everything we were looking for in a dog sitter! She cared for our sweet Cookie and sent pictures. She made all my worries out the door when she reassured us that Cookie was fine! We have found our dog sitter and I couldn’t be more grateful for Ariel 🌸”

“Whitney and her family were absolutely amazing! Her fenced in yard provided plenty of space for the dogs to play. My dog, Finn, received so much love and snuggles! Finn will definitely be back. Thank you, Whitney!”
About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Sarah was so kind. I really felt great about Yani’s care with periodic pics and updates from Sarah. She showed really good care for Yani and I would certainly recommend!”

“Marissa is extremely caring and flexible and treats the dogs she watches like family! I consider her house to be a second home for my dog. Unlike a kennel I always know Marissa will be there to snuggle and play with the dogs and the dogs will get tons of time to play together.”

“Outstanding dog sitter! My dog had a blast and Pamela C. was wonderful about documenting it through photos and sharing. Excellent communication and clearly a wonderful dog person. Highly recommend!”

“Janelle and Joanna were amazing! We have a puppy who is definitely in training. I was very worried about leaving him, especially since he was still newer to us. Janelle met Remy and me a few days before with her adorable pup Zoey. She had great communication prior to visit, during, and after. Remy felt very comfortable at her place. I am thankful for the extra TLC and patience she showed our boy. We will definitely being calling again for future needs! Thank you ?”

“We had the best possible experience with Jill and Chad and their sons taking care of our two pug brothers! They welcomed our two boys into their home and family and privided us with wonderful pictures and reports in their shenanigans! From now on, they'll be our pet sitters! Our dogs thrived with them!”

“Molly was fantastic! She was patient and welcoming despite my dog’s high energy level and kept me updated throughout the stay with great pictures and regular communication. She was very knowledgeable, well-prepared, and even taught us a few new things. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I highly recommend her and would happily book with her again!”

“Lingli was so sweet and attentive the entire stay and was great about sending videos and pictures. My cat was taken care of so well and she's a really great communicator.”

“Karla is the best and my dog is in love! Karla took excellent care of my pup while I was traveling...which allowed me to relax and just enjoy my vacation. She sent so many cute pictures and videos of their adventures and of his epic naps. I already booked Karla for my next trip and Frank cannot WAIT to hang out with her again.”

“Brittanie and Ryan were wonderful sitters for our dog this weekend! She seemed to have gotten very comfortable in their home pretty quickly and had no issue coexisting with their dogs at all. They sent frequent update pictures and really went above and beyond bringing our dog to our wedding so she could be included in our pictures. Overall great first Rover experience and would happily use them again!”

“Our dog spent two nights with Rich, and he absolutely fell in love with him. When I came to pick him up, he was thrilled to see me but clearly reluctant to leave Rich's place. I’m confident that Rich took wonderful care of him and kept him entertained the entire time. Rich is kind, considerate, and genuinely the best sitter we’ve ever met.”

“Aida was a great sitter for my pup. She was very communicative with me and very attentive towards him. I was able to have peace of mind while on vacation as I was updated with pics and activities throughout each day I was gone. I highly recommend Aida for any of your dog sitting needs.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
