“Karen was amazing with Jazzy! Our dog has significant separation anxiety, but Karen immediately understood her needs and knew exactly how to help her feel comfortable and secure. The farmland is a huge plus offering plenty of safe, private space for dogs to play and explore. Best of all, Karen and her family treated Jazzy like one of their own. We had complete peace of mind knowing our fur baby was so well cared for, and we're incredibly grateful to have found a sitter we trust. The ample pictures and videos were an added bonus! We'll definitely be back again and again!”

“Brittanie and Ryan ensured that both Bodhi and I felt comfortable with boarding him at their home when I dropped him off. They were attentive to him and sent me pictures and communication throughout the stay, which helped put me at ease. They even contacted me before I dropped him off so I would pack extra food in case of a potential snow storm. I’m thrilled that they were our first experience using Rover, and I will recommend them to any friends needing dog care in the future.”

“Will and Adriele were fabulous! Very accommodating to my drop off and pick, took my dog for a walk and shared many pictures. They were fabulous and will definitely be using them again! Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Mio had a great time staying with another family instead of being boarded! They were great with communication, including photos and videos of our boy while we were away for the weekend. Thanks again for taking care of him like he was yours!”

“Great experience with Christa, we were able to drop off Mochi and pick her up without any worries. She also gave us progress pics and updates on how Mochi was doing. Christa also was very kind about us picking her up at night even though we were running behind.”

“Andrea is the perfect sitter! I appreciated her flexibility with drop off and pick up times and her very calm, personable and welcoming demeanor. Sarge loved being at her house and was already exploring the house by the time I left. Andrea made sure he had all the comforts of home and even got him to sleep in a dog bed that she provided. When I picked him up, he was very content and in no hurry to go home. I have already booked another stay, as I know Sarge will be in good care with Andrea.”

“Our dogs enjoyed their time with Terry! Our dogs enjoyed their time with Terry! We received daily updates, which made me feel at ease since my dogs are a bit anxious. They were given outside time and lots of cuddles. Terry is very accommodating; he supported our last-minute changes to the schedule. I already have my next stay scheduled. Thanks for your wonderful service and care.”

“Kim was great! She took our last minute request without hesitation. She's got a great fenced in backyard so we didn't have to worry about our girl getting loose. She kept us posted regularly with texts and photos which meant the world to us since this was the first time we used this app. We definitely recommend Kim and will use her services again!!”

“Casey and Marwa are the most accommodating and caring dog sitters, we have ever had. They do their best to keep with the routines that Indiana knows and then add extra long walks, treats, brushing, playing, and lots of love. Their Pug Kevin is so cute and friendly. On top of that, they are super-flexible with drop off and pick up times and took Indy in on very short notice. Will definitely be back”

“My pups were so welcomed and comfortable immediately. It was everything I wanted for them and had no worries while I was gone. What a loving family and beautiful home.”

“Priscilla was a very attentive and nurturing sitter. As a new dog mom, I was nervous to have my very anxious pup stay with a sitter, however, Priscilla is very clear and precise with how she cares for each pup, provides numerous check-ins with photos and gives the pups so much love and attention. I would highly recommend her and will be booking in the future!”

“With a senior dog, we do get nervous about leaving mango new places. I would say within five minutes of the meet and greet it was clear that Shanilka and her husband would be taking great care of him. They asked all the right questions and during our stay sent regular updates to make sure we knew he was in good hands. Would definitely use again!”

“We really appreciated Alonni's excellent care of our 7 month old dog. We loved how she made our Archie part of her home and family while he was with her for boarding. She truly loves dogs and did a great job giving him an active day, giving us updates, and following instructions we sent with him.”

“Robin promptly responded to all requests and provided a great experience for our Addie. Clearly comfortable working with dogs, has ample space indoors and outdoors for play. This was our first time and was great experience.”

“Bria was very sweet. She helped me out even when my flight was canceled and held on to dog for an extra day! I will absolutely be booking again. Bria is a very responsible and caring dog sitter! Thanks so much!”

“Piero and his family did a wonderful job taking care of my two dogs. They were willing to accommodate my dogs’ feeding and potty habits, but I also trusted them to do what would work best and what fit with the household’s vibe while my dogs were their guests. Communication was great, and they sent photos and videos of the dogs’ stay. Would definitely use Piero for boarding or grooming again!”

James and Mary were wonderful! They took great care of our two pups and sent lots of pictures and updates throughout their stay! Our dogs usually come home a bit stressed when we have used other boarding places, but after picking our boys up, they were super happy and relaxed! We look forward to using them again!

We had our rambunctious pups boarded for 5 days with Veronica and family. We will 100% book with them again and I highly recommend them! They communicate very well, send updates and are easy going and patient with them. Definitely a home away from home for our pups!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
