“This was my first time using rover and having someone other then family watch Simba.I was very nervous at first. However Priscilla was fantastic. From the moment I met her I felt like I knew her. She has such a beautiful spirit and is very nice. Simba loved her. She took pictures everyday and it made me know he was in goods. Her family and her are great and I will definitely be using her again.”
“Jon and Mary took great care of our Faye. We haven't left our puppy with anyone before so we were very nervous. They put us at ease by talking to us for a while about their rover experience. They have two adorable, friendly, fun loving labs that played with our little Faye. Their family all pitched in to keep Faye happy and active. We will definitely be using Jon and Mary again. Highly recomend!”

“As always, Kelly and her family were amazing. They took care of our Leo as their own and updated us several times a day with photos and notes. We were so thankful that Leo was in good hands during our out of country trip.”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and cats my entire life and cannot remember a time I didn't love them all. My cat is no longer with me but I still have dogs and would love to care for your pets as I currently do my own. I can handle big dogs and little dogs as well as am willing to clean out your cats litterboxes. I'm happy to tussle with big dogs and take naps with lap dogs anytime! I'm a college student looking for work over the breaks and any pet time over the semester as I'll be away from my own. I'm happy to work around my class schedule to be with your pets as much as possible. I have a mostly fenced yard with the only opening being the driveway but intend to do walks and keep pets leashed just for safety. My own home has two dogs that are great with other dogs, both of them being on the smaller side and great with people as well. When I'm up at school there will be no other pets up there and the space will be fully for your pets. I'm also able to do house sitting, walks, and drop-ins for your pets to make sure your pets are getting love and attention when you're away.
“Karen and Patrick are the best! We felt so comfortable leaving our dog with them and the pictures they sent showed that he was having a wonderful time. We will definitely use them again!”

“During Bella's stay with Phuong, I felt she was treated like a member of her family. Bella seemed to be comfortable there, even taking over Phuong's office chair! We are grateful to her and her family for taking care of Bella.”
“Bria was wonderful with my big boy while I was away on travel. She is extremely responsive and sends cute pictures with updates so you’re aware of your pup’s adjustment. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!!”

“Jasmine was SO helpful with a last minute need for our pooch Hansen!! She was gracious enough to offer a meet and greet despite the last minute booking, which made me feel more comfortable already. She was kind enough to send updates, asked good questions, and put me at ease leaving him with her. I look forward to trusting Jasmine with Hansen in the future! Thank you, Jasmine!”

“We booked Sophia with just a couple of weeks before we left for 17 days! She was professional and very nice. Amber loved Sophia and her house and her yard and her pets. She sent us updates with pictures and videos. We felt very comfortable leaving our pup with her and will use her again when the need arises.”

“Thank you so much for taking great care of Webster! His second trip to your home was successful. Thank you for keeping me informed while I was traveling. He was quite pooped when I brought him home so he’s catching up on his Zzzz. We look forward to mommy’s next trip 💕”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sykesville
Our dog is usually very shy but she loves Michelle and her mom. She almost didn’t want to leave after staying with them a few days. I’m so grateful to have found someone I trust to watch her while we are away. And we also love the pictures and videos she sends of her during our trip!

We had our rambunctious pups boarded for 5 days with Veronica and family. We will 100% book with them again and I highly recommend them! They communicate very well, send updates and are easy going and patient with them. Definitely a home away from home for our pups!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
