“Olivia was great with my lab Daisy! Daisy has exhibited separation anxiety in the past when I have been gone for a while but Olivia was very patient with her. She has 2 small dogs of her own which probably helped too. She was very flexible with drop off and pick up times as well. Also she did a good job of keeping me up to date by daily sending me pictures and videos. All in all I would definitely recommend Olivia for all your dog sitting needs.”

“Angie and family were great with our two boys, treated them like family. We got lots of updates and photos, and we always knew the boys were ok. Would definitely have them watch Boh and Tequila again.”

“Jennifer did such a great job caring for my pup when I was away! I received frequent photos and updates and could see how happy my dog was with her. Would highly recommend her services!”

“My new FAV pet sitters! My little Pomeranian has the best time with their pups! I always wonder if he will even want to come home. lol! I am always getting pictures and video updates and know he is safe and well cared for here.”

“We're so happy we found Yousef and Dima to take care of Maya! Right from the meet and greet, it was clear Maya absolutely loved them! Their home is beautiful and they’ve got a big backyard, which gave Maya plenty of space to run around and have fun. We got tons of updates and photos from Yousef every day, which really put us at ease. Honestly, we’re thrilled with how well they took care of her, and we'll definitely be bringing Maya back to stay with them again!”

“I would not hesitate to recommend Yuhui to anyone. Chester had a wonderful time with her! She is super attentive and takes great care of my dog. This was my first time booking Yuhui, and we are already looking forward to having Chester stay with her again when we are out of town. Highly recommend!”

“Chrissy was the best to our fur baby!! We left him for one night and a Chrissy was extremely communicative. She sent updates and photo’s throughout the time Buddy spent at her house! He and her dog Lucy got along infamously so I felt bad splitting them up when we came to take Buddy home. He had so much fun and he is completely exhausted! We will 100% be using Chrissy again when needed.”

About: For over 20 years, I’ve devoted my life to caring for dogs with the same love and attention I give my own. As a professional groomer and lifelong animal lover, I’ve learned that every dog has its own personality, quirks, and needs—and that they all deserve a safe, happy place to call home while their families are away. At my home-based boarding, your pup isn’t just a guest—they’re family. With a cozy indoor space, a secure outdoor play yard, and plenty of cuddles in between, I make sure every tail wags with joy. Whether it’s playtime, rest time, or a little extra pampering, my goal is always to give them comfort, care, and peace of mind—so you can feel at ease knowing your best friend is in loving hands. Pet care is my life and my passion. As a home-based groomer with 20+ years of experience, I combine professional skills with the comfort of a family environment. Dogs aren’t just clients—they’re guests in a loving home where every wagging tail is noticed, every need is met, and every pup feels safe, happy, and cared for. My home-based setup allows me to give personalized attention, cozy care, and consistent love that bigger facilities often can’t match. My home doubles as a haven for pups! I have a cozy basement workshop where I work, a special indoor play yard where puppies can romp safely, and a fenced outdoor yard for fresh-air fun. And of course, after work, it’s family time—they’re free to snuggle, play, and enjoy life with me beyond the yard.
“FANTASTIC Family!! Maverick had a great time and was well cared for. Communication was outstanding. They were super with his medication, and patient with my nervous texts about him staying anywhere overnight. Maverick & I look forward to when he can see them again!”

About: I am an animal-lover who would be happy to welcome cats or dogs into my home, or to drop by during the day to make sure your pets are cared for. At home, I strive to create a calm, clean, and caring environment where your animals will feel safe and loved. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, playing with kittens, and helping you make sure your pets get enough attention throughout the day. Most of my pet care experience comes from taking care of my own animals, but I also pet sit as a kid. I raised a loving golden retriever and two Siberian cats. They have great temperaments, which I believe is more a testament to their care than breed alone. If you have shy animals, I'm probably a good fit to help them feel relaxed. I was impacted by a mass layoff and have a pretty free schedule. I have availability for dog walking starting at 2:00 pm. I'm generally available for boarding and am happy to discuss further availability and scheduling for individual inquiries. I will not work with animals with a bite history. I will not take animals that intentionally mark inside or that wear diapers. At your home: - Let me know your expectations. I want to respect your home so you have the best experience. At my home: - Cleanliness is important to me. If you're familiar with Friends, it's more like Monica's apartment and less like Joey's. We take our shoes off inside and try to keep things decent. I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but I'll clearly lay out my expectations and hope you'll recognize it's all in the interest of providing a clean, safe environment. - The home is pet resistant, not pet proof. Gates are available to discourage pets from traversing floors if your pet's physical restrictions include reduced use of stair cases. Please inform of any risk for behaviors like cord chewing - I want to keep your pets safe. - Any pets staying over at my house need to be on a current flea/tick regiment. Most familiar with flea/tick collars. Please inform if the regiment is non-obvious, such as medications or topical treatments. - Pets I work with must be up-to-date on vaccines per local laws and veterinarian recommendations, including rabies vaccinations. Dogs: - Dogs who are boarding >24 hrs. will be taken on 2-3 walks per day, generally following the schedule of 1 long morning and evening walk and one shorter mid-day walk. - Please bring your dog with enough of their food and medications for the duration of the stay, along with instructions for feeding and medicating. I can give your dogs oral medication, and crush it up and mix it with peanut butter if needed, but am not qualified to administer injectable or IV medications. I am uncomfortable giving dogs I don't know eyedrops. - I will have some treats on hand, but if you prefer specific treats, please bring them. - I am happy to brush your dog if you provide the brush, and your dog is ok with a new person brushing them. - For your dog's best experience, please bring your dog's crate or bed, blanket from home, and favorite toys/stuffies for comfort and fun. - Dogs will be able to explore the fenced-in backyard off-leash if they are not at risk for going under, through, or over the fence, or on-leash if they need more supervision. - We sometimes have wildlife that come through the yard, so please let me know if your dog is at risk of escaping trying to chase other animals. - I will supervise dogs while they are in the backyard, and make sure if the poop in the yard it gets picked up quickly - I don't let dog poop accumulate in the back yard. - I typically use baby wipes and/or a towel to clean paws when dogs comes inside after walks. Please let me know if your dog does/doesn't allow their paws to be touched. - Beyond puppies, dogs must be trained to pee and poop outdoors. I will not accept adult dogs that use puppy pads indoors, but can help puppies less than 1-yr-old with potty-training. - Whether or not dogs will be allowed on furniture will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based on behavior. - I will not accept dogs that rip, bite, tear, or defecate on furniture, or otherwise destroy property other than their own dog toys. Cats: - While at our house, all cats are indoor-only cats. This protects your cats and local wildlife. - I will have a cat scratching post. I can't accept cats that scratch furniture, carpets, or the house in general. - Cats must be litter-box trained. Litter cleaning: - I will use scoop-away cat litter. - I will scoop out clumps daily. - I will change out the litter completely, and disinfect the cat box weekly, and in-between animals from different clients.
“Natalia and Edward were wonderful with my dog, Olly! From the start, they were kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving Olly in their care. Throughout the week, they sent me regular updates and lots of cute pictures, which I really appreciated, it was so nice to see how happy he looked. They clearly took great care of him and made sure he got plenty of attention and love. When I picked him up, he was calm, content, and clearly had a great time. I’m so grateful for the care they gave him and would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend Natalia and Edward to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters!”

“Jen was awesome with Max and Daizy! I’m always a little nervous leaving them, but she made me feel so much better with updates and how well she handled everything. My pups can be a little particular, and she did great with them. You can tell she really cares. Definitely would book her again!”

“Rachel and Jason took great care of our little Shi-Chi overnight. Pepper is usually such a creature of habit that we didn't know what to expect, but seeing the photos of her while we were away really put our minds at ease. Rachel even went the extra mile cuddling our little lap dog and seeing that her ponytail and bow were straight. Highly recommend!”

Katie was absolutely wonderful! She took care of our dog for four days and made him feel completely at ease. She sent us photos and videos every day, which gave us so much peace of mind. Her kids were also incredibly friendly and played with our dog, which he clearly enjoyed. When we picked him up, he looked happy and relaxed, which says everything about how well she cared for him. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
