“Nat &Ally are amazing, this is by far the best Rover service that I ever had and I have been using Rovers for more than 3 years. They are very attentive, they do a meeting before the drop off day, they truly want to make sure my furbaby will feel welcome and safe. They asked all the right questions, food, timing, snacks, what is he allowed or not to do and so on. They have a backyard which is great for my chocolate lab to play and they have a playful dog that was perfect for Rocco. We even got a drawing from Rocco, from one of the kids, that made me cry…Happy cry! They are all super sweet. Love their vibe and respect. I recommend them 100%. I would be looking forward to work with them more often.”

“Karen was a delight from our first meet and greet throughout the process. We were completely confident in her ability to care for our large dog. She was attentive and thoughtful in asking questions regarding his care. We appreciated all the photos and communication while he was at her home. She gave him tons of attention from walks to belly rubs and snuggles. We would recommend her without reservation and look forward to booking with her again!”

“Kimberly was very sweet and great to work with. She made sure my pup had the best care possible and was very patient with him. She was extremely communicative and I appreciated that. Would book again!”

“Ms Kimberly was great. I get pictures on a daily basis. My baby for sure had fun! I highly recommend! Thank you very much again to Ms Kim for caring for my baby.”

“We did a trial boarding with Kristin and my fellow came home reluctantly. When Tucker didn’t take to his food Kristin and her son were trying to hand feed him and coaxing him along and so I want in a word of appreciation for their commitment to his well being”

“Terri was the epitome of perfect. She was just what my pet Blossom needed. Attention, affection, love, she filled all of those things, and then some. She took many pictures kept us up-to-date, and eased my anxiety!!! I would use her again and again and again, top-notch for sure!!!”

“Raghavi and her family were great. From the start, they made sure to get to know Archie and understand his needs, and Archie was very comfortable with the family as well as their dog, Simba. If you’re looking for a sitter who will love and care your pet like their own, I highly recommend Raghavi!”
“Mila took such wonderful, heartfelt care of my dog. She kept me updated with photos and great communication, which gave me so much peace of mind. I am incredibly grateful for how attentively she looked after my dog, and I truly feel lucky to have found such an amazing sitter.”

“Tessa took great care of our high energy pittie while in her care for 4 nights. We were nervous as temps were particularly low that week, which our girl doesn't love, yet she needs lots of exercise, and Tessa was able to get her out and about comfortably so all her needs were met. Tessa kept us well informed and we're so appreciative she was able to take such good care of our girl.”

“This was our first time using Rover.com, and we could not be happier! Evvery expertly guided us through the process - from the meet & greet, to drop off, to daily updates and photos, to a very happy reunion. We knew Ivy was in good hands - getting long walks along the lake, naps in an oversized guest bed, and plenty of cuddles and treats - and as a result, we enjoyed our time away even more. We cannot say enough good things about Evvery and her care. She is amazing!”

“My dog Barkley appeared to have a wonderful time boarding with Joy and Rodney. I am so thankful for the care and attention they gave to him while he was there. They kept me informed throughout his whole stay, and it really gave me relief and peace of mind. I whole heartedly recommend them for anyone considering boarding their pet.”

“My 2 year old dog has stayed with Sophia many times. She is excited to get out of the car and loves to visit to stay and play! Sophia sends multiple pictures. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Annette is truly an amazing dog host. She knows animal behavior so well. Her own pets are wonderful and our dog loved visiting as a guest. She is an expert with regard to introducing pets to one another. I wish he could go on a mini-vacation once a week!”

“Leah took very good care of my Millie. I got a few updates every day with pictures and she was very flexible with drop off and pick up times. I would recommend her for your dog sitting needs and I would book again should I be in the area.”

“Finnegan just loves staying with his Rover Family - they are the best dog sitters ever! Fozzie has become Finnegan’s buddy and playmate, and Finnegan is looking forward to more visits this summer!”

“We had a great experience with Rebecca! She took wonderful care of our Labrador, Lexi, over a busy holiday weekend, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and made sure Lexi was well cared for the entire time. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“My pup Topaz had the best time with Ellen. Ellen took time with Topaz and made it fun for her. Since Topaz is a senior dog, she is very sensitive to her environment, and she fit in with the other dogs as well. I will be bringing her back on a regular basis now!”

“Merline took great care of Sarge and provided daily updates. She gave him yummy treats and gave him extra people food to go along with his regular dog food. When Sarge didn’t want to go upstairs to sleep at night, she joined him downstairs so he wouldn’t be alone. Her family also looked after Sarge and showered him with love. When I picked up Sarge, he was very calm and relaxed, which tells me that he had a good time while away from his family.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
