“Fantastic time was had by all! Brianna is a warm soul who knows dogs, detailed, and observant! I looked forward to her message updates and pictures of the pups while i was away on a trip.”

“Iesha was awesome! She sent us daily updates and was flexible with the drop off and pickup times when we had our plans change. I was nervous about leaving our kitty for the first time but he had a great time and was comfortable pretty quickly with Iesha and her family. And our dog had such a great time too playing with her dog. Will definitely use Iesha again! Thanks for taking such great care of our babies 🩷”

“I am a new dog dad, and never used a dog sitter or Rover previously. I had to go away for a work trip, and I contacted Priscila on very short notice. She did great with my pup. I received plenty of pictures and my puppy looked so happy and was playing constantly. My dog gave her a big hug as she was leaving and made some new doggy friends during her stay! Thanks so much!!”

“This was the first time, I had to leave my dog. Rebecca took a very good care and was always keeping me updated with all the pictures. Which really helped us so relaxed even though we are away. Will definitely come back.”

“We ran into an out of town family emergency and these folks immediately brought on our senior Bassett Hound into their home To say they were kind is an understatement. When we needed to extend our stay out of town they readily understood and continued care of our pup. The updates about how he was doing along with the photos of him were a wonderful gift during a painful time in our lives. If there were more stars we could rate them with, it still wouldn't be enough.”

About: I have recently relocated to Frederick, Maryland from California after recently retiring & wanting to be closer to family <3 I have over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and rabbits, including senior and special-needs pets and animals requiring medications. I currently have a French Bulldog, four cats, and a rabbit of my own, so caring for multiple animals with different personalities, routines, and needs is part of my everyday life. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed feeding and care instructions, providing walks and enrichment, and recognizing changes in an animal’s behavior or health. I’ve also volunteered with animal shelters in both California and North Carolina. I worked as a first responder for almost 14 years, I’m dependable, trustworthy, safety-conscious, and take the responsibility of caring for someone’s pets very seriously. I’m retired with a completely flexible schedule, so pet care can easily be accommodated throughout my day. I’m available mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays for boarding, doggy daycare, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I provide a safe, comfortable environment tailored to each pet’s individual needs and routine. I have a fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time and plenty of indoor space, including separate areas when a visiting pet needs their own quiet space away from my animals. I’m experienced with medications, senior and special-needs pets, and will closely follow all feeding, exercise, medication, and care instructions. I will treat your animals as if they were my own while I am trusted with their care. As a retired first responder, safety, responsibility, trust, and attention to detail are extremely important to me. 🐶😺🐰🏡🐾
“My pug, Django, loves staying with Linda. He was so excited to see her when we showed up to her place! This is his second stay with her. She’s always kind and friendly and I trust her with our furry little guy. Linda sends lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. Linda is definitely our go to Rover <3”

“Anna took such great care of our German shepherd, was communicative and understanding when we had an unexpected travel change. She was more than accommodating and went above and beyond to help given our travel issue. Anna’s house is great for any dog, her dogs are very sweet and her family is awesome. I cannot recommend enough and we will book with her again 1000%”

“Mandie was wonderful and helped us with a six day stay with very short notice. Communication was perfect with quick responses and frequent updates with pictures. We definitely recommend Mandie and will surely be back!”

About: Have watched family and friends’ dogs in my home for years. Currently have 2 family dogs of different sizes and ages. Range of experience. Lots of walking, playtime and snuggles. I’m home during the day and can adjust my daily schedule to the needs of the dog. My kids are in school during the day so it’s quiet during the day. I have a fenced in yard with room for dogs to play and take care of business. I have 2 dogs at home so your dog will never be alone. My kids and younger dog loves to play. The neighborhood is full of walking paths for walks.
“Nancy was absolutely AMAZING! We left our dog in her care for 5 days and he was very well taken care of. Nancy made him feel very comfortable and he looked like he was at home in all the pics! We highly recommend Nancy and will definitely be using her services in the future!”

“Poh was lovely! I was going out of town last minute and therefore needed a last minute booking and Poh was available with fast response times as well. She has great rates and took amazing care of my dog, she even offers grooming and cut my pups nails over the weekend! She sent daily photos/videos of my pup with others, and took great care of him. Her dogs are also adorable and well behaved. Very kind and professional boarder, we will definitely rebook in the future whenever he requires a home away from home!”

“Buddy was in good hands and slept solidly after his two days of visiting. We will use Darshini and Joseph again in the near future. Thank you for taking care of our Buddy.”

“Min and Matthew were exceptional sitters for my girl, Rani! Not only did they play with her endlessly (seriously, Rani has zero ability to self-regulate and they went with it!), they also cared for her as their own pup. When she was being finicky about eating, Min took the time to spoon feed her just like I do. Min also send so many pictures and videos, which helped me feel so at peace knowing Rani was well taken care of and loved. I will definitely be sending Rani back to Min and Matthew’s in the future…the 40 minute drive to/from our place is more than worth it!”

“Jennifer is 100% a dog person! Very warm yet very professional. We didn’t a meet and greet and she had a checklist ready to go over everything. She has spare bowls and toys. She took great care of my Odie! Even though she has a fenced in yard she still took him for walks. I got lots of pictures during his stay. Odie did have an incident and Jennifer handled my pup with the utmost care and was very friendly and professional while we worked it out. Even if Odie’s not welcome back I would still 100% recommends her. Anyone can do a job when everything goes right. It takes someone special to handle when things go wrong. 10/10!”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and cats and currently have Berlioz, my 6-year-old tabby, and Chibi, my 6-month-old Husky. I love giving pets the time, attention, patience, and affection they deserve. As a nurse, being responsible and attentive comes naturally to me, and I’d love to give your furry family member the same loving care I give my own! 🐶🐱❤️ I'm currently working as a full-time nurse, but I only work 3 days a week which gives me plenty of time in the rest of the week to take care of your furry pets! We live in a single family home with an unfenced backyard but in a quiet neighborhood. There's plenty of lawn space and a 10x10 ft dog pen in our backyard.
“Kathleen and her family were great with Barkley! Her daily texts and pictures were very reassuring that he was having a great time! I will definitely use her again and recommend her to care for your pet as her own!”

“Kelly took excellent care of our 1 year old golden doodle pup!! She kept me up to date on how she was doing and sent cute pics which made me feel great knowing she was settled and enjoying herself while I was away. Would highly recommend!!”

“Sophia is an awesome dog sitter. Our dog has flourished and comes home very happy after she's been at Sophia's. Sophia has been very patient and kind to our anxious dog who takes time to get comfortable. She sends pictures everyday our dog is with her, regularly updating us about her. Sophia takes beautiful pictures, which is another bonus:) Highly recommend her, if anyone is looking for a home away from home for their furry family member!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Walkersville
Carmen and her husband were very nice. They watched our 7 pound Yorkie, Cooper, for the weekend while we were at a wedding. They gave us daily updates with cute photos. And Cooper was really happy when we came to pick him up. Their two dogs were great with Cooper and he enjoyed playing with them.

Cindy did an excellent job caring for Tobias. She is very knowledgeable about dog behaviors and she is so kind. She has a nice fenced-in yard that is great for dogs to run around and play. This is the first time we have ever left him with anyone overnight. Cindy sent updates, pictures and videos throughout his stay and was very responsive. Tobias came home happy. We'll definitely call on Cindy for future stays.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
