“They are such great fur baby sitters! Jax came home happy and not stressed at all. I loved getting all the updates and pictures and will definitely book with them again!”

“Zeus was very well cared for and enjoyed his stayed with Dorian and his family. The home was very clean with a large fenced in backyard. The best thing is that Zeus took right to Dorian. Will definitely book with Dorian again.”
“Excellent service! Linda took such great care of our Dogo, sending daily pictures, taking him for walks, and giving him lots of attention. She gladly accommodated a late request for extended boarding as we prepared our home for sale which alleviated a lot of stress. She has a beautiful home with an amazing yard providing a safe environment. She’s also gave him meds as scheduled. Can’t thank her enough 🐾”

“Emily has taken care of my dog twice in the past month or so. Emily is superb in every way. She exceeded my requests for his care and sent me updates and photos to help reassure me that he was doing well. She is a wonderful match for my dog.”

“Rebecca was fantastic! She took very good care of my dogs and provided updates and was very responsive. I unfortunately did not have the correct dates for my vacation but she went out of her way to not only watch my dogs for the extra night but got them additional food and she was very kind about it when it was my mistake. I would definitely recommend her.”

“I have an older min pin that hasn’t ever been away from me with someone she hasn’t known before. When I brought her over for a visit before the booking, I knew immediately my baby was going to be taken care of and would be safe. I got a bunch of pictures and videos of my baby girl and I could tell she was being taken care of as if it were me. I would recommend Min & Matt to family and friends, which says a ton about the way they took care of her.”

“Priscila (and her mom) did an awesome job with our two pups! We got pictures and videos and updates on our week-long vacation and our boys looked very happy. You can really tell they are animal lovers. I would not hesitate to book with her again!”

“Nancy did a great job watching our German shepherd. She spoiled Nala with long walks daily, had treats for her and played with her. She communicated really well with us and sent us lots of pictures. It’s clear she is an animal lover and we never doubted our pup was in good hands in our absence.”

“We had a great experience with Nicole taking care of our pug, Memo, for about a week. She was super nice and easy to work with from the start. From the meet and greet, we knew Memo was going to love her. She kept us updated every day on how Memo was doing, and we really like the photos and videos she sent. It really made it a lot easier being away from him. You could tell right away that Memo was comfortable and happy with her and her husband. They treated him like their own and made sure he got plenty of attention and walks. We’d definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.”

“Robin is a rockstar dog lover! She took excellent care of our two french bulldogs... she even let them sleep with her! She was very accommodating to our schedule and understood that we would need flexibility in terms of pick up time since we were not sure how traffic would be. I will definitely use her again.”
“Erika was an amazing sitter for my puppy Ace. This was the first time Ace has been away from both his parents, but his weekend stay with Erica made him feel right at home. I let her know that I love getting pictures and videos. And she came through she let me see that Ace was being loved and well cared for. And she even made him extra tired for when I was coming to pick him up from a long trip so he came home and went right to sleep. Thank you so much for making our first experience so well. We will see you in July.😁😁”

“Dan has watched our two dogs twice now and it has been such a relief! Our dogs are part of our family and I worry about them when we aren't with them, but Dan keeps in contact with the us the whole time we are gone with pictures and videos and our dogs always look so happy. We know they are in great hands and we can't wait to book him again!”

“I have used Sneha 3 times. She takes great care of my husky and communicates well about any concerns/updates. Boozo makes a great playmate too! My husky always comes back happy and well adjusted. This doesn’t always happen with others sitters. Def recommend Sneha!”

“Kinsey was absolutely fantastic with my two pups! She provided updates and sent pictures to ease my worries. I would absolutely have Kinsey watch my dogs again! Thanks Kinsey!!”

“FANTASTIC Family!! Maverick had a great time and was well cared for. Communication was outstanding. They were super with his medication, and patient with my nervous texts about him staying anywhere overnight. Maverick & I look forward to when he can see them again!”

“Bubba enjoyed his stay very much! Excellent care-followed our feeding, playing ball routine and checked with us, sending pics and updates daily during our 10 day vacation, highly recommend-we will use this sitter again. Thank you,John, Marne, Eli and Bailey”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Walkersville
Robin was very good at sending photos and videos of our dog while we were away, She kept us informed on how he was doing. Puck has never been socialized and Robin worked with him on learning to get along with her dog. Her twin sons were also very helpful in taking care of Puck. Hunter, her one son, especially made sure Puck felt at home immediately after we arrived. Overall Puck received excellent care and I would use Robin again if I go away. Thank you Robin and family for taking such good care of our dog! We were able to relax on our trip knowing he was in good hands.

Cindy did an excellent job caring for Tobias. She is very knowledgeable about dog behaviors and she is so kind. She has a nice fenced-in yard that is great for dogs to run around and play. This is the first time we have ever left him with anyone overnight. Cindy sent updates, pictures and videos throughout his stay and was very responsive. Tobias came home happy. We'll definitely call on Cindy for future stays.

Nancy was very warm and friendly. We had a lovely meet and greet at the park, then scheduled an overnight visit for Lexie. She kept me informed with pics and video so I could see how well Lexie was adjusting to a new environment. Nancy was highly attentive to Lexie during her stay. Would definitely call upon Nancy again! 🙂

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
