“Curtis and Lindsay were great, sharing pictures and communicating the whole time we were away. Our pup appeared content, happy and tired out when we brought her home. Would definitely recommend!”

“Yvi and Christians hospitality was amazing. They were incredibly dependable and made sure my dog felt secure and cared for while I was gone. It was clear they truly enjoy their work, and it gave me such peace of mind knowing my pet was in such capable hands. I'll definitely be booking with them again!"”

“Chrissy was the best to our fur baby!! We left him for one night and a Chrissy was extremely communicative. She sent updates and photo’s throughout the time Buddy spent at her house! He and her dog Lucy got along infamously so I felt bad splitting them up when we came to take Buddy home. He had so much fun and he is completely exhausted! We will 100% be using Chrissy again when needed.”

“Rebecca did an amazing job! Our dogs were very well taken care of and happy while we were away. She was very communicative ame sent frequent pictures. Such a positive experience; will definitely book again!”

“Wonderful land for our boys to run on and have fun outside. They enjoyed playing with other dogs there and Emily took great care of them. There are so many places for dogs to explore and they have daily walks around the property. Highly recommend this sitter.”

About: Have 10+ years of veterinary care experience in both VA & MD to include puppy care (kennel & potty training…) and senior dogs care (medications, ear & eye care…). Have owned and cared for over 15 pets in my lifetime to include my last shih-tzu who live to 20 years old. Additionally, my husband and I have been the go-to godparents & babysitters for all friends & family pets. Both my husband & I have recently retired and I am looking to fill our time with taking care of and loving your fur baby instead of getting a puppy of our own. We are home all day so would be available for non-stop love & attention for all types of fur babies. Ideal for babies of ALL ages including pups & older dogs for the special time and care they need such as frequent potty breaks. I have years of experience with puppy training and senior dog care to include dispensing of medication and basic eye, ear, etc care. Hope you will allow us to love on your baby while you are away. Since we are home all day, any and all special needs will be taken care of for your fur baby. We have a great fenced in backyard as well as parks near by for walks as needed.
“I was a first time boarder and Kathleen and her family helped me and my pup to be at ease in this new space. The photos and updates throughout the stay were amazing. I can definitely see that my dog felt comfortable and welcome. I will definitely return as a customer.”

“Marieliz was great with Samson. I received regular updates, photos, and videos. Was great to see how he was adjusting while I was away. Turns out he felt instantly at home and settled in great. Would highly recommend Marieliz, and would love to have Samson stay with her again.”

“Priscila (and her mom) did an awesome job with our two pups! We got pictures and videos and updates on our week-long vacation and our boys looked very happy. You can really tell they are animal lovers. I would not hesitate to book with her again!”

“Nancy really helped Ruby feel comfortable and was great at providing pics and updates! I appreciated the chance to do a meet and greet and Nancy’s flexibility around pick up and drop off times. We would definitely consider booking with Nancy in the future!”

“Chanel was a guest with Min & Matt for a week! I got daily updates on her progress! She got lots of attention and great care! They treated her like family! She was spoiled rotten! I am so thankful I found these wonderful, kind, and caring couple! They are true animal lovers PLUS Min is a great photographer! She captured so many fantastic pictures of Chanel, I will be making reprints for my home! I am truly blessed to have found these folks I did not worry about Chanel the entire week I was gone!!’ I will use them again and again!💕💕💕”

“I knew after our Meet and Greet that Gordon would be in good hands with Jennifer. She is obviously a dog lover and realizes the level of trust and responsibility required to be a good dog sitter. She asked all of the appropriate questions, making sure she understood Gordon's needs and my expectations. While "on the job", she sent several pictures each day, keeping me posted on Gordon's activities, and Gordon came home a very happy camper. I will definitely leave Gordon with her again and again.”

“We had a great experience with Nicole taking care of our pug, Memo, for about a week. She was super nice and easy to work with from the start. From the meet and greet, we knew Memo was going to love her. She kept us updated every day on how Memo was doing, and we really like the photos and videos she sent. It really made it a lot easier being away from him. You could tell right away that Memo was comfortable and happy with her and her husband. They treated him like their own and made sure he got plenty of attention and walks. We’d definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.”

“Very nice experience. I rarely board my Reba and wasn’t sure how she would react. I know I couldn’t take her to a kennel and Jolene was an excellent alternative. Jolene kept me up to speed on Reba and sent pictures I highly recommend her. Will definitely feel comfortable using her again.”

“Our experience w/ Dan’s boarding was fantastic. We came from Chicago for family time where a 94pnd 3 year old German Shepard would not be having fun. Booking w/ Dan was easy, great communication and just a relief to meet him, tour the beautiful land they have. Instantly knew our girl would be just fine and she so was all dog smiles! Thank you Dan and we will see you again next trip or after….. Respectfully, Erica, Nancy, & Hendrix”

“It is obvious that Erika loves animals and can cater to any dog's needs. She took on our rambunctious teenage puppy with ease, spoiling her with play and cuddles and updating us routinely with pics of their time together. I’m sure Wexler would love to hang out with auntie Erika again!”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for years. I previously worked at a veterinary hospital, where I cared for pets in a kennel setting and assisted with appointments, giving me experience with animals of all sizes, ages, and personalities, and also currently furthering my vet med education. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply cuddling on the couch, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I am a stay at home (expecting) mom, and my schooling is also done at home. You can rest assured knowing that your fur baby will get constant attention and affection I have ample house space and yard space for your fur baby. I also make walks apart of my daily habit so you can rest assured knowing your baby will get all the exercise they could dream of
“Linda took great care of our two dogs (lab and goldador)! She sent lots of pictures and they looked very happy in every picture. They also seemed like they had a great time when we came to pick them up. Linda was very responsive and easy to communicate with.”

“Emily did a great job watching our two pups! This was our first time leaving our dogs since one was diagnosed with diabetes, so we were understandably a little nervous. Emily is skilled at giving injections and used to have a diabetic dog herself, so that immediately put us at ease. Emily did a wonderful job and kept us informed with updates and pictures. We will definitely use her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
