“I am a new dog dad, and never used a dog sitter or Rover previously. I had to go away for a work trip, and I contacted Priscila on very short notice. She did great with my pup. I received plenty of pictures and my puppy looked so happy and was playing constantly. My dog gave her a big hug as she was leaving and made some new doggy friends during her stay! Thanks so much!!”

“Casey was awesome with Coda! She had a great time hanging out and running around with her dog Jojo. She’s already been sleeping most of the day just from all the fun she had there.”

“Lillie and Dawson had a great time with Joel and Janelle. We know our babies and happy, safe and very well taken care of. We have already booked again! 🐾❤️”

“We are so grateful to Elisa, Jim, and their son for taking such wonderful care of our pup while we were away for over two weeks. Since he was only 4 months old, we were extremely anxious about leaving him at such a young age. However, Elisa’s daily photos, updates, and sweet messages quickly put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. They showered our pup with love, treated him like family, and ensured he was happy and well cared for every day. They are kind, reliable, trustworthy, and excellent communicators. We highly recommend them to any pet parent!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for many years and currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I understand the patience, attention, and consistency pets need to feel comfortable and safe. I have experience with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and the extra care that comes with older dogs. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own. I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and companionship. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks on both weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and bedtime routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, routines, and household rules. I take time to learn each pet’s personality and respect their boundaries, especially with senior, shy, or anxious pets. When staying in a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space, keep the home secure, and provide regular updates so owners can feel comfortable while they’re away.
“Our two dogs had an excellent stay. We received pictures and updates several times a day. Our dogs enjoyed the huge fenced yard to run and play. Sandra was great at communicating and caring for our two dogs. Will bring our dogs again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Middletown
I usually don't leave reviews but I have to this time. Renee is amazing! We found ourselves needing a sitter for our 7 month old Golden Doodle for a week. I had never used the Rover app OR a dog boarding service before. I found Renee using the Star Sitters filter and I am so grateful to her. She was patient with all of my questions (before, during, and after the meeting and greet!) and immediately put my mind at ease. You can tell she has a lot of experience with dogs and has a very calm but assertive demeanor with them that made me confident she could handle our amped up puppy. While we were away she sent us pictures and updates regularly without me asking so I was never worried about how he was. He even made friends at her house to play with! After bringing him home I could tell she kept him on his routine and he is doing great. I can't recommend her enough!

Molly felt right at home with Christa and her family! We are so thankful to have such a wonderful and loving vacation home for Molly because we never have to worry about her while we're away. Christa and Patrick always take the best care of Molly, ensuring she stays active with lots of walks, too! We highly recommend Christa and Patrick, and can't wait for Molly's next stay!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
