“Anahita was a life saver for me this past weekend. She was able to care for Sammy with last minute notice, which I really appreciated. I like the fact that she has other dogs because Sammy is very social and likes to play with other dogs. Apparently he got along with her dogs just fine and that makes me happy. He needed some socialization. She sent photos throughout Sammy’s stay in her home. When I picked Sammy up the next day, he seemed very calm and relaxed. He was pretty calm the rest of the evening which was great. I expected a little anxiety when I returned but Sammy seemed peaceful on the drive back home. I think that Anahita’s calm, caring and peaceful personality played a huge part. I appreciate that so much. She pays attention to details that are important to the dog for a successful stay, but is not overly anxious. Thank you so much, Anahita, for caring for Sammy for me. I was able to relax and have a great overnight trip without worrying about Sammy! We will be repeat customers for sure!”

“Perfect family for Ace..He loves children ..Charity is very caring and was very understanding when I had a medical emergency and had my sister pick him up when I was in the hospital..The best”

“When I met Chris prior to leaving my dog with him, I felt confident leaving my 10 year old beagle in his hands because I could sense he genuinely cares and loves for animals. Toby immediately gravitated to him. During his stay, Chris provided daily updates with pictures; they went on nice long trail walks, enjoyed couch cuddles, and relaxed. I definitely recommend using Chris for your pets next stay!”
“We are so glad we found Olivia to care for our girls! This was her first time watching them and she was reliable and excellent in giving us updates with pictures of our dogs. Overall, we are very happy and so are Luna & Libby! 🐶 🐕”

“Kacy took such great care of our dog! We were able to enjoy our trip with no worries about her at all. Many photos and videos of her so we could see how she was doing along with notes from Kacy. Definitely 5 + star rating and will absolutely have our dog vacation with Kacy in the future!”

“Colleen did a great job taking care of my old dog, Bentley. She is very knowledgeable about dogs, and especially good with older dogs. This gave us peace of mind. I would definitely recommend her. Next time, I will remember to check off the photo-sharing option so I can see pictures of Bentley while we are away.”

“Jennifer was very professional. When we met with her she took notes about Hugo's personality and our preferences. Jennifer and Juan were great with Hugo. I got pictures twice a day and he seemed happy when we returned.”

“Alex was a real pleasure to work with as we left our labradoodle with him for 10 days over the holidays. Easy to reach, prompt and pleaant, drop off and pick up were easy and we had a flow of information on Bruce while we were away. Bruce was evidently well cared for and Alex is knowledgeable of and good with dogs. I highly rate Alex and we will seek him out again if we need to board Bruce in the future.”

The daily pictures sent to me indicated he was having a fabulous time, enjoying Ali’s family and all the love provided. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing he was being well taken care of. Once again I can highly recommend Ali, she is wonderful!”

“What can I say? Sarah was fantastic! The whole experience was so easy and wonderful for our dog. Sarah was flexible and very responsive. Super accommodating. She kept us supplied with lots of updates and photos during the whole visit. Our hound sometimes has anxiety during new experiences but she was so well cared for that she felt immediately at ease when we arrived and through the whole visit. Sarah and her wonderful family took such good care of her that I would absolutely want my dog to stay with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Emily was great and handled our 100 pound Doberman effortlessly. I never felt so comfortable going out of town. Our Doberman Zeus is cautious of new people and immediately loved Emily. She took him on long walks everyday and sent pictures. We will definitely be boarding him again with Emily.”

“We’re so grateful for the love and care our pups received. It meant everything knowing they were not just safe, but truly happy while we were away. The sweetest part was how much our doggies adored her kids you could tell they were having the best time together. We came home to a couple of relaxed, happy dogs, and that says it all. They will be going back forever now!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lovettsville
This was the first time we've used what we call "Kara's Kamp" for our dog Ellie while we were away on vacation and we couldn't be more thrilled with the care, love & attention she provided. Kara texted many photos during the time Ellie was under her care and it was obvious how comfortable Ellie was with Kara and the other dogs in the house. I don't think Ellie wanted to come home! Kara is a genuine dog-lover and it shows. We will definitely use her service again in the future and appreciate how much she cared for our 4-legged child while we were gone. Kara is a real assert to Rover!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
