“My pups are a handful, especially together. Puppy energy is unmatched with them. Rene did not complain and was super patient with them as I’m sure they were a handful for her. Went out of state for 2 days and when I picked them back up they were happy and healthy. Great job!”

“Highly recommend Pricilla and her family! They were very loving and patient with my anxious and scared pup. Sent pics and updates and obviously love dogs and are great at caring for them!”

“Best Rover experience I’ve had to date for my Golden retriever Zoe. She gave plenty of updates, kept up with ear cleaning/teeth brushing, brushed her and even washed a few things. Great location for walks around Gunners Lake too”

“Chrissy is the BEST sitter on Rover. She takes AMAZING care of our dog when he stays at her house and does a great job with drop ins for my senior cat. They always get new treats and toys as long as you tell her it's okay! Our dog loves her and her existing pet family and is always excited when he gets to have a sleep over with Chrissy. Do yourself a favor and book her whenever you can!”

“Gracie had a great stay with Kacy. This was a last-minute stay and Kacy and Justin were very accommodating. Gracie came back happy and tired, which is what we were looking for.”

“Cameron did an amazing job with Zeke! I will absolutely be using him again. He was responsive, sent photos, kept me updated. I could not have asked for a better Rover. A plus is that Zeke was totally wiped after spending a few days at Cameron's place. Cameron has a huge backyard which Zeke took full advantage of! Thanks again, Cameron.”

“Laura was so great with Teddy! He loved playing with Gin!!! You can tell she really cares, and we felt totally comfortable leaving him with her. Selfishly, I almost don’t want to tell people how awesome she is 😉 We’d definitely book with her again if she’ll have him!”

“Leo loved his time with Emily! He loved exploring her property and obviously felt comfortable with her based on his behavior when dropping him off and picking him up 🙂”

About: I recently lost my 14-year old bulldog and I am looking to reconnect with dogs before committing to another long term companion. I have experience with senior dog care, to include dogs with cancer and dementia. I work full-time from home. During the day, I would be able to offer 2 15 -minute bathroom visits/walks during my breaks from work. I also have flexibility when other needs arise. In the evenings, I am free to give your dog as much love and attention as they desire. I only accept 1 dog at a time (unless multiple dogs are from the same owner and the dogs are pair bonded). I was single handedly responsible for my own dog for 11 years before she died of old age, so I know what it takes to compassionately care for a dog. I have also watched my friends’ dogs and my parent’s dog for weeks at a time. Taking care of dogs is not a new experience for me. I work from home and have complete control over the flexibility of my schedule. I can take breaks from my work to attend to your dogs needs 2 times per day during my 15-minute breaks. I am free evenings. I can also use my breaks to give walks/pet stop-ins if within close proximity to my house. I am willing to take care of dogs who prefer free play in a fenced in yard or those that prefer longer leash walks or park outings. I have no problem with free roam in the house or crating, whichever fits best with the dog’s regular routine. I have a big fenced in back yard and live in a neighborhood with sidewalks and a park 1 block away. I also have a good relationship with a local vet in case of emergencies.
“Anna took such great care of our German shepherd, was communicative and understanding when we had an unexpected travel change. She was more than accommodating and went above and beyond to help given our travel issue. Anna’s house is great for any dog, her dogs are very sweet and her family is awesome. I cannot recommend enough and we will book with her again 1000%”

“Layla had a blast and was sleeping all day and night when she got hope from her long weekend away. She definitely had some good play time! Thanks for watching her and I’ll be sure to reach out for future trips!”

“Our ageing dog was in amazing care with plenty of time to socialize and attention to specific care instructions. Everything went perfect. Thank you Kathryn and all of your amazing helpers. 💛👏👏”

“Poh Huey is absolutely amazing. She took great care of our dog Belle recently when we were out of town. She was responsive, courteous, and very professional. Huey was genuinely attentive to Belle, which was greatly appreciated. She provides video/photo updates. Her fenced backyard with artificial turf provides a safety and clean playground for dogs. Her two dogs are super friendly. Huey is the best!!”

“Barbara took amazing care of my anxious dog. She provided daily updates of how my dog was adjusting. Thankfully, my dog adjusted quickly and had a wonderful time playing with Dobby and the daycare dogs. I was only a little worried my dog wouldn't want to go home because Barbara took such great care of her.”

“Jax was so well cared for in Joanne’s care. She is delightful and took Jax pretty much on a last minute notice. She always has a smile on her face and was a joy to work with. Jax was well adjusted being back home.”

“Mindy was fantastic with Dream and Oreo! She was reliable, friendly, and sent great video updates throughout the stay, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We picked up happy relaxed pups from her. We look forward to continuing booking with her in the future.”

“Jill was amazing with our puppy Storm! We enjoyed getting photos and updates every day. He was loved and well taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“Teddy just came home from spending 3 nights with Ali and her family. When I picked him up he was all brushed out and handsome and he came home with a surprise toy that Ali gave him. These little extras separate her from other pet sitters. When he got home he was a bit out of sorts, but I think he just misses playing with her daughter and all the extra attention he got. I highly recommend Ali's pet sitting services.”

“Tamara was great! My dogs had a great time at her place and they were very well taken care of. My senior dog needed medication and to take it easy and Tamara had no problem accommodating him, while my younger dog was playfully active and Tamara also took great care of her.”
“Makie took such great care of our puppy while out of town for a week. We are very pleased and happy to have found someone who loves our little one and had no problems with special requests/ instruction. THANK YOU MAKIE!”

Victoria is exactly the type of person that you hope would be on this app. She was very communicative and easy to work with. I was completely confident that my babies would be safe with her and didn’t worry about anything. I’m beyond grateful that she accepted my boarding request. Thanks for taking care of my furry babies.

Ollie spent a weekend at Victoria’s. He had a great time playing with her golden retriever Gus and didn’t want to go home when we picked him up. Victoria gave us a ton of updates throughout the weekend, with lots of cute videos, and overall was a great experience for all!

Alex and Christina are amazing and we are deeply grateful to them. No one else has watched our sassy senior dog for many years now -- she is exclusive and only stays with the best of the best :). They have taken wonderful care of her from her wild youthful years to her current mature state. Christina and Alex are both very competent, observant, and careful with dogs. They are also very responsive. Our dog is clean, safe, and comfortable there. We can't thank them enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
