About: I’ve had my own dogs for 20 yrs. I’ve fostered abused dogs for 10 yrs. Dogs are my therapy, they bring me peace and I love spending my time with them. I have been a special education teacher in Montgomery county for over 25 yrs. I have evenings, weekends and holidays available to care for pets. I try to spend my time with animals because they bring me joy and peace amongst the chaos. I have one very large, playful 3 yr. Old Great Pyrenees. He loves making new friends and playing until he falls asleep. I live on an unfenced 40 acre farm. My dog has an e collar so visitors would need a long lead for outdoor walks. I can easily crate overnight but I let the dogs roam during the day with scheduled walks.

“Amit is a great pet sitter. We recently left our 1-year-old Golden Retriever with him for 2 nights, and he took amazing care of him. His kindness, regular updates, photos, and genuine love for animals gave us peace of mind knowing our dog was safe and happy. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Min and Matthew were exceptional sitters for my girl, Rani! Not only did they play with her endlessly (seriously, Rani has zero ability to self-regulate and they went with it!), they also cared for her as their own pup. When she was being finicky about eating, Min took the time to spoon feed her just like I do. Min also send so many pictures and videos, which helped me feel so at peace knowing Rani was well taken care of and loved. I will definitely be sending Rani back to Min and Matthew’s in the future…the 40 minute drive to/from our place is more than worth it!”

“Staci was wonderful! Zola had a great time and was completely tired out when I got her home! Staci was also very understanding and flexible when we hit some unexpected traffic and got back a bit later than planned. Would absolutely use Staci again!”

“I would like to personally recommend Xiao if you need an outstanding dog sitter. I boarded my baby Skip Marley with her for a week. She kept me informed on how he was doing sending me pictures and videos which helped put me at ease in knowing he was being well cared for. I believe Skip may have been afraid at the beginning and on guard, but by the time I went back to pick him up he was a happy and healthy guy. I am sure she spoiled him rotten. He did not want to leave. She has a big gated back yard where Skip could run around and explore. I will definitely use her again. Thank you so much Xiao for taking care of my baby!”

“Phil & Amanda took care of Teddy for more than 10 days and we just know that Teddy had a wonderful time in every way! Reliable, trustworthy, and excellent communications! It is very clear how much they love dogs and we never worried while we were away.”

“Victorias took great care of Sassy! She sent me pictures and kept me updated so I knew Sassy was happy. Sassy came home happy and tired from playing with friends! Highly recommend Victoria!”

“both of our dogs seemed well cared for. His property has plenty of space for the dogs to run and he took them for walks in the woods, which I’m sure they enjoyed. I would consider boarding our dogs with him again.”

“Sharon is simply fantastic. Responded right away on short notice! Romeo took to her immediately, communication was outstanding, Romeo was clearly having the time of his life based on every pic sent! I really felt the love Sharon had for Romeo but also the other dogs that were there too. I feel like I dropped Romeo off for a fun sleepover with his friends! I’m so grateful we found her and will def rebook.”

“We've boarded our dog with Nina and Kon before and I missed my chance to leave a review the first time. They are the absolute best. They truly treat our dog as one of their own and provide frequent updates on all the activities—daily walks, trick-or-treating, and playtime with the pack. Trusting anyone with your pet is a difficult thing to do, but with Nina and Kon, we can truly relax knowing he’s in excellent hands and being well taken care of.”

“Piero and his family did a wonderful job taking care of my two dogs. They were willing to accommodate my dogs’ feeding and potty habits, but I also trusted them to do what would work best and what fit with the household’s vibe while my dogs were their guests. Communication was great, and they sent photos and videos of the dogs’ stay. Would definitely use Piero for boarding or grooming again!”

“Thanks a million to Shiva for taking such good care of our baby. He is an anxious pup and shiva and her family were so patient with him. We received detailed updates with pictures that nearly teared us up as we have never seen our pup so calm and content with anyone else up until now. Our long weekend was extra special knowing he was in good hands. 14/10 recommend.”

About: If you’re looking for someone who will care for your dog the same way you do, you just found her. I’m a devoted dog owner who knows how hard it is to find a reliable, loving, and compassionate sitter. After struggling to find the right care for my own huskies, I decided to become the kind of sitter I would trust with my own dogs. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals, often caring for multiple dogs at once. Animals have always been naturally drawn to me, and I believe that comes from the genuine love and calm energy I bring to them. Today, I work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. I have a cozy, fully fenced backyard and a calm home environment where dogs can feel safe and relaxed. I share my home with my two friendly huskies. I walk them several times a day, and if your dog is comfortable, we can walk them together. If not, I’m happy to walk them separately to respect their needs. Dogs are not allowed on beds, but they are welcome on the couch. There are multiple dog beds around the house, along with plenty of toys and enrichment. For everyone’s safety, I only accept dogs that are spayed or neutered, and I require a meet and greet beforehand to make sure all dogs are a good fit. For safety reasons, I do not accept dogs with active health issues, as I want to ensure every pet in my care receives the attention they deserve within my level of expertise. My goal is simple: for you to travel with peace of mind, knowing your dog is safe, loved, and well cared for. There will be walks, playtime, cuddles, and lots of love. 🐾 I work from home full time and run my own business, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My schedule is very flexible, and I can easily adapt to your dog’s routine, including feeding times, walks, play, and rest. Your dog will not be left alone for long periods, and I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for at all times. I provide a safe, calm, and loving home environment. I have a fully fenced backyard and a doggy door that allows dogs to go in and out freely, giving them autonomy while still being supervised. My home is set up with multiple dog beds, toys, and enrichment options to keep dogs comfortable and engaged. I have two friendly huskies, and I always prioritize safe introductions. I require a meet and greet beforehand to ensure all dogs are a good fit and comfortable together. Dogs are supervised at all times, and I follow each pet’s routine closely. If needed, I can separate dogs for feeding, rest, or walks to make sure everyone feels safe and relaxed. My goal is to create a stress free, structured, and loving environment where your dog feels at home.
“My Golden had a wonderful 2 week stay with Karen. She sent videos and pictures everyday. Her whole family is so sweet and she has a beautiful property! Will definitely use her in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Beallsville
Phil and Amanda were wonderful to us. A trip that was supposed to last 20 days ended up being extended due to a health issue. They were understanding and took excellent care of our little one. They are a special family who truly love animals. We are grateful for everything.

Kayla was wonderful watching our young pup. This was our first time leaving our dog with anyone, and Kayla made her feel right at home. She is so quick to respond to messages, sends picture updates and has a wonderful home setup for dogs to feel comfy. I also appreciated that Kayla asked if there were any special requests that she should be aware of when watching our dog. Our dog warmed up to Kayla immediately, which made us feel like she was in good hands. We would absolutely recommend Kayla as a sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
