“Wonderful experience. Tracey and her family were such caring and communicative sitters, tending to Ivy's "old lady" preferences and surrounding her with love.We are so appreciative and will definitely be in touch next time we travel.”

“Elisa and her family were fantastic! They took great care of our Yorkie and sent us updates with pictures every day, which really put our minds at ease. I could tell that she was loved and pampered. We will definitely be booking them again. Thanks again.”

“I was in MD for July 4th celebration and needed to find a dog boarder for one night. I found Dawn through Rover as a last minute choice. Right choice. Dawn was very good with my golden doodle who has separation anxiety. My dog felt right at home and had a very wonderful time.”

“Christopher took excellent care of our boy and provided frequent updates. He even bought a bone for our boy to chew on while he looked after him! I would definitely use again.”

“This is an absolutely fantastic choice for a dog-sitter, in my mind. Leslie was loving, caring and she treated Frances, my terrier-dachshund with the closest and kindest attention—plenty of walks, balanced diet, happy human company to sleep with when she desired, and various places to rest—so Leslie passed those all those important measures. She also sent me photographs with comments fairly often, which delighted me and made me know that Frances was safe and happy! But then, of Great value was the fact that she always could find positive human companionship—her cousin came, and let Frances and another dog, sleep on his knee, looking utterly content, her roommate really liked Frances and showed it, and Leslie did too. AND there was always her dog, and then occasionally a neighbor’s dog or another client’s dog visiting for a number of hours. That was Heaven for Frances, and just what I was hoping for. A place where Frances could be, as Leslie put it, a member of a pack. NOT a large, in any way overwhelming pack, but a small pack, consisting of one or two or conceivably three other dogs, which she could be with. THAT and the essential human warmth which was very much present—was all I could dream of—and Leslie provided it. Thank you so, so much. I will definitely use her services again! Leslie is cause for peace of mind, great happiness and satisfaction for Frances and me.”

“Marco and Margaret are so nice and we can see that they enjoy caring for the dogs. We loved the pictures and video of our dog, seeing that she was enjoying the other dogs, sunning herself outdoors or lounging inside. We will definitely use them again!”

“My dog Tako was extremely well taken care of and I got frequent updates. Shanilka was very easy to communicate with and she was very flexible as my travel plans changed due to the weather. I will absolutely be using her again if I ever need!”
About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. My whole family have them as family members. I adopted Colby, a mini poodle, 13 years ago and he recently passed on Mar 7, 2026 due to oral cancer one month before he turned 14 yr-old. I will board ONE NON-SHEDDING dog at a time so I can spend quality time with that dog ☺️ I would love help dog owners to walk, play, and love their dogs while they cannot and get some dog love for myself. I miss my dog tremendously so I am not ready to have another. Let me take care and play with your dogs and make them happy ☺️ I work full-time remotely. I can customize my schedule to fit your needs as long as I am given a notice to adjust (I set my work schedule a week in advanced every monday). I love taking a long walk when the weather permit. 😁 Whatever your dog accustomed to, I can adjust. I live in a one bedroom condo right now. I will provide a safe and loving environment for your dog.
“I wish I could give 10 stars to Karen and her family! Our dog, Casey, is a rescue who is a bit anxious when he is away from us, but we didn’t need to worry. Karen kept us updated and we could sense how happy Casey was during his stay. I highly recommend Karen; I know she will be our first choice for a “home away from home” for our dog!!!”

“We are so grateful to Pam! She treated Mikko incredibly well. And he played with toys for one of the first times (he’s a rescue and an older dog so this was amazing). His food has multiple steps to it and she was very detail oriented regarding this. Thank you again Pam!! 💌”

“Kathy was the best! Rumi felt relaxed and comfortable all weekend, and Kathy provided lovely video updates. It was so nice to have such a peace of mind knowing Rumi was safe and in great hands!”

“Amanda was very communicative and took great care of my dog for a long weekend! I got regular updates, and he seemed to get along well with Amanda’s dog too. I would happily leave my dog with her again.”

“Gena did a wonderful job watching after Oatmeal! She provided amazing communication throughout the entire time, from our initial Meet and Greet to pick up. The daily updates and pictures Gena provided really put us at ease as this was the first time we boarded Oatmeal. We also really appreciated Gena requesting detailed care instructions. We would definitely recommend Gena for pet care!”

“Cooper enjoyed his time with Huan, her family, their dog and the daycare dog. She fussed over him and let me know of any concerns immediately. We also got daily pictures and videos. He came home exhausted.”

“Terri was absolutely wonderful. She let us do a meet & greet before leaving my pups which really gave me peace of mind. She had a nice & clean environment. Daily reassurance of how they have been doing along with a ton of pictures and to top it of she was so kind to gift them some new toys to keep!”

“Natalia and Edward were wonderful with my dog, Olly! From the start, they were kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving Olly in their care. Throughout the week, they sent me regular updates and lots of cute pictures, which I really appreciated, it was so nice to see how happy he looked. They clearly took great care of him and made sure he got plenty of attention and love. When I picked him up, he was calm, content, and clearly had a great time. I’m so grateful for the care they gave him and would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend Natalia and Edward to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters!”

“We had a great experience with Lorenzo watching our dog, Pele, for two weeks. He was very communicative throughout the entire stay and regularly sent picture updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Pele was well cared for and happy when we got back. We really appreciated the reliability and attention he gave our dog. Highly recommend!”

“My pups had a great time with Adrienne, who accommodated us last minute. Our pups are high anxiety and they settled in quickly and happily for a couple of nights at her place. She’s great about providing the amount of updates you feel comfortable with, and was thoughtful with how she prepared for their stay. I would definitely recommend!”

Vanessa was terrific with our energetic little Berkly! She kept in touch daily with updates on how she was eating, getting along with other furry friends and staying active! We truly appreciated this and highly recommend Vanessa for your pet too! I will definitely use her services in the near future.

Lorenzo accepted my last minute request and my dog is in a good hand. Lorenzo took extra step to take care of my 16-year-old dog, who is sometimes poop inside when goes to a new environment. Lorenzo also communicated with videos and pictures on daily basis, to let us know how our dog is doing. Thank you! Lorenzo.

This was Leo’s first time staying with someone who wasn’t family and we couldn’t have been luckier to find Shen-Huan! Our fur baby can be a little needy and ended up requiring way more than we expected, but she handled everything like a champ. She kept us updated, took amazing care of him and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Gena did a wonderful job watching after Oatmeal! She provided amazing communication throughout the entire time, from our initial Meet and Greet to pick up. The daily updates and pictures Gena provided really put us at ease as this was the first time we boarded Oatmeal. We also really appreciated Gena requesting detailed care instructions. We would definitely recommend Gena for pet care!

Chash, we can’t thank you enough for the attention and care you gave our pup this week! Tons of walks, play time and cuddles.. we couldn’t ask for anything more! We would HIGHLY recommend Chash to anyone that wants their fur baby to be well loved. We so appreciated all the daily updates and photos. And even sending our pup home with some sweet new treats, so thoughtful! Our dog Birdie can’t wait to stay with Chash again 💕

Raghavi and her family were AMAZING!!! It was my first time booking a pet sitter, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I got so lucky! Raghavi let me do a little meet-and-greet before I even booked to make sure that Ryder was comfortable with her dog, which put me so at ease, and during the boarding itself, was so accommodating with Ryder's schedule (and went above and beyond by sending me lots of photos while I was away, which was such an unexpected but very nice and much appreciated surprise!) She was so easy to get in touch with, and when I needed an emergency extra couple of days covered, she was so flexible and easygoing about it. Definitely booking again!!! :)

Khushboo took wonderful care of Kylo during his week-long stay. She kept me updated daily with messages and photos, which really put my mind at ease. Kylo looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for the entire time. It’s clear she paid close attention to his needs and made sure he stayed healthy and comfortable. I’d absolutely trust her with him again!

OMG, if Maria could handle my “bipolar” and “not friendly to strangers” French Bulldog “Fito,” this means she is the bestest dog caregiver. She was caring and loving, and when I went to pick Fito up, she asked me when I was going again on vacation. One of her messages said “I just wanted to say thank you again for trusting me with Fito 🐶 I really enjoyed taking care of him.” Trust me, Fito is not easy. He is very lazy and likes to sunbathe and cuddle which makes him a low maintenance dog. But he is epileptic which means he can have a seizure, and he growls at other dogs and is anxious/aggressive (barking) if someone other than my household and my parents tries to pet him. This makes him too a high maintenance dog. I like to say “I am friendly and you can pet me but I can’t say the same about Fito.” Granted, another Rover caregiver who saw Fito gave me the bestest trick. When he saw Fito (during a pre-visit at a park) and Fito was barking at him, he told me “give me his leash.” I was hesitant at first because I didn’t want Fito to bite him but as soon as he took over Fito’s leash, Fito somehow calmed down as if Fito was thinking “hmmm this stranger now is holding my leash, I’d better be nice since I am under his controls.” I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you to this other Rover Caregiver for illuminating my mind. So when it was Maria’s turn to meet Fito (I had set up many meet and greet with a few Rover dog caregivers), I told her about the new found trick and she too was able to handle Fito. Maria, you are the bestest. You took care of Fito like if he was your very own baby and even had to endure watching a couple of seizures, and clean his crate (as he occasionally poops or pees). You r the bestest. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
