“Nicole loves cats and you can tell. She gave Mr. Bingley sweet care and attention. She was very good about sending pictures and videos to let me know he was doing well while I was away. There was a stressful situation with the petsitter before her, and Nicole handled it all with grace, professionalism and assurance to me that all was well. That was greatly appreciated. Thanks very much Nicole for taking such good care of Mr. B.”

“One of the best sitters I have had. Frequent updates, followed all instructions, went above and beyond. Dash was happy, well cared for, fed, clean, and loved. I felt completely at ease leaving him with Shannon.”

“Ken watched my pups for a week while I was away. He was amazing. He kept me informed daily of their activities. He sent pics. He definitely made me able to relax and enjoy the trip knowing that the pups are in good hands! Definitely will be calling Ken again.”

“Gloria stayed with our gigantic pup for a week. She clearly loves animals and Malachi loved her. I could see how relaxed and happy he was. It was such a relief to know Malachi was so well cared for! Would not hesitate to ask Gloria to watch him again.”

“Michele stayed with our dogs for a week and took such great care of them (and our home!). She is caring, thoughtful, and thorough. We will definitely hire her again in the future. Highly recommended for your pet sitting needs!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for several years and truly love making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Before getting my own dog, Kira, I cared for a Shih Tzu and an English Springer Spaniel in my home, including taking them on walks and giving them lots of attention. I’ve now cared for my Maltipoo, Kira, for four years and have taught her potty-pad training since I got her when she was only 3 months old, leash training, and different tricks. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I always make it my priority to give every dog the same love, patience, and care I give my own! My schedule is fairly flexible since I currently work part-time, although my work schedule varies from day to day and isn’t the same every week. Because of this, my availability depends on my work schedule, but I’m able to plan around it and communicate my availability in advance. I’m especially available on weekends and can often accommodate walks, drop-ins, and in-home pet care. I’m always happy to communicate my availability in advance and make sure I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve! When caring for pets in their home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and at ease. I’ll provide fresh food and water, take them on walks or give them playtime and attention, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable throughout my visit. I also understand that every pet has a different personality and needs, so I’m happy to follow any specific instructions from their owner. Most importantly, I treat every pet with the same patience, care, and love I would give my own.
“Heli was AMAZING when she stayed in our home to watch our severely speration anxiety ridden cockapoo, Ruby. I felt relieved and relaxed knowing Heli was watching Ruby while my family and I were away for a week. Although we had not previously met, I was immediately put at ease with the way she interacted with both Ruby and me. Heli also sent me a ton of pictures while we were away showing all the fun activities they were doing. She also kept to Ruby's schedule. As a very picky mama, I would 100% use and reccomend Heli in the future.”

About: I have taken care of my own dog since I was young, and since her passing I have routinely dogsit for friends and family. My childhood right-paw-man was a Beagle mix, and so I love to handle hounds who sniff first & think later (as well as distract them with Pupperoni…). I took care of her in her old age, so I have some experience in dropping medicine on the floor and pretending it’s a delectable morsel so dogs devour it! I also have handled plenty of bark-happy dogs, and like to bring treats on all my walks to incentivize more calmer adventures. I am currently in a partly asynchronous grad school program, and I’d love to spend my very flexible time taking healthy (and frequent) breaks from studying to care for your pet! I’m excited to adapt to fur-parents’ homes and needs! I’m comfortable crating pets, supervising outdoor time in fenced yards, and being attentive to your pets’ body language while inside their home.
“Felicia was great! Sent me lots of pics, left my home spotless, and my pups were happy when I got back. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Will definitely use her again!”

“Jina took care of our dog and home for 2 weeks while we were out of town. She was amazing. Our pup was well cared for and I so appreciated her daily updates and photos. Jina gave our dog his daily medication, took care of our plants, brought in mail/packages and cleaned up after our pup who likes to bring food across the floor. I highly recommend her and will be looking to use her services again in the future!”

“Allison spent the night at our house to watch our dog and cat. We appreciated the meet and greet beforehand. The dog was well taken care of and looked like he got the snuggling he needs in addition to being given his medicines which included an eye cream. Both of our boys were well taken care of and Allison also took good care of the house. We would definitely use her again in the future!”

“When we met Rosie, she made a special effort to connect with our dog--also named Rosie. She took very good care of our dog and our home while we were away for a recent weekend; it was so appreciated! I know our girl will be in good hands when we take a long vacation later this summer!”
“Addie did a great job caring for our two huskies. First off, she came at the last minute when our other Rover Petsitter canceled, so we are grateful for that! She was very professional during our meet and greet and the dogs took to her very quickly. She kept us informed through the trip, sharing lots of pictures. Dogs were happy when we got home and the house was nice and clean. You can’t ask for more!”

“Adrienne was absolutely wonderful with Quincy! She was incredibly attentive during her overnight stay. As a Type A dog parent, I provided a very thorough Quincy care document with everything she needed to know about Quincy and our home. Adrienne did a fantastic job taking notes, asking thoughtful and detailed questions, and making sure Quincy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout her stay. She was also very respectful of our home and took great care of everything while she was here. Although this stay was only one night, I couldn’t be more grateful to have found someone we feel comfortable trusting with Quincy. We’re already looking forward to her upcoming stays!”

Audrika took wonderful care of our chocolate Lab while we were away. She provided daily updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was happy and well cared for. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and treated our pup like family. We would definitely use her services again and highly recommend her!

Loved Melina, her personality from the time of the meet and greet, I knew my dogs would be in great hands. I can tell from my pet's energy that they were very happy. She walked them and I couldn't have appreciated that gesture even more. I would definitely book her again.

Jeanette is always so great with my Eli! Even though he misses me when I'm away, he feels safe and secure with her. Her warmth and nurturing personality shine right through! Jeanette's an awesome pet sitter and I always feel comfortable leaving her in my home so that Eli can stay home and in his daily routine. It makes going away on vacation less guilt inducing. Of course as pet parents we will ALWAYS feel guilty for leaving our fur babies behind, but when you have a competent sitter like Jeanette, it makes things a little easier! 🥰

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 10,138 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boyds. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boyds walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boyds maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boyds choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boyds. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
