About: I've done pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors for most of my life. This includes care of dogs to include feeding, play, walking, and administering meds if applicable. I currently have a six year old English Bulldog who is a stubborn sweetheart and I regularly pet sit for a family member's pitbull mix. I will be available on marked days, most regularly weekends as well as selected weekday options as I have a flexible/remote work set-up. I take care of pets of my own (as well as children) so I can confidently fill in to care for your pet. I have reliable transportation and defined radius on my profile so I can arrange for several walks and in home check-ins and care throughout the day and evening. When/if I do board or care for a client's pet in my home, there is a fenced in backyard and one other dog in the home.
“We needed a sitter on really short notice and Christyn was available. She sent pics of our dogs showing how they were, our hound took to her immediately. Thank you for taking care of our pups! Definitely recommended!”

“Adrienne was fantastic with our 3 pets for several days at our house! She communicated well and provided great photos daily. We can highly recommend Adrienne and plan to hire her again.”

“Nicole did an excellent job watching and walking my anxious pup, followed directions/instructions exactly as provided, and helped keep my puppy happy and occupied while I was away. Very friendly and great communicator.”

“Jessica was great! She accepted our booking last minute and still made time to do a meet and greet prior to watching our dog. She was very communicative and prompt! Would definitely book her again!”

“Addie is a true professional. Punctual, followed all my directions, and most importantly cared for and loved on my two cats and Pit Bull. She's great who I will use again.”

About: I have had several pets through my life and all have had different personalities. Adapting to them to make them comfortable is important. I also have helped family take care of their new puppies. I’m very comfortable and understanding when dealing with puppies. Currently I can do any time! I don’t mind having an early morning or late night drop in. I am very flexible and want to make this easy for YOU! Just communicate what you need and it’ll be great. I want the animal to be as comfy as possible. Sometimes their human leaving can be stressful! I want to meet them where it’s needed. Not have their routines thrown off.

About: I had the pleasure of taking care of a little Shihtzu named Giselle for nearly 7 years and now have a gray tabby named Chicho for nearly 4 😊 Every moment has been incredibly rewarding. I wanted to extend that same love, care and patience to all other animals in my area! Having experience with dogs and cats of all ages, all personalities and all energies has given me the opportunity to learn the different kinds of care they each require. ***House-Sitting/Overnight requests are JUST me staying overnight in your home to care for your pet (9PM-8AM). My house sitting is not all day 24/7 care, I typically aim to check in on your pet(s) every 3-5 hours or as less/more often as you request. My Overnight/House Sitting fee includes (1) walk and/or visit (example: letting them out in your yard, playtime, etc.) Additional visits are extra.*** I work full time as a dental surgical assistant 8AM-4PM on weekdays. After then and all day weekends I’m available to care for your little one! I understand the importance of making sure your pets are fulfilled within their limits and I’m happy to maintain their typical routine and even more.
“Kenneth was wonderful! He look care of my baby dog like he was his own. My Sullivan loved him from the minute Kenneth stepped in the door! I highly recommend Kenneth for dog walking and overnight dog-sitting! Wry trustworthy and I’ll definitely use his expert services again!”

“Antoinette was AMAZING with my dog Rocky while I was on vacation and I highly recommend her. I found her thru Rover. She came to my house before I left to meet Rocky and to go over everything. My dog has skin allergies which he takes medication for so she gave him meds overnight. Rocky was a little upset the first day she watched him and didn’t want to eat. I had never left him before. She contacted me immediately and we came up with a plan and it worked. She sent me lots of pictures throughout the day of Rocky which I appreciated. I will use her again in the future.”

“Mikayla was wonderful! It was our first time leaving our dog not with family for an extended period of time and she made us feel so assured and comfortable. Scout loved her and we've already planned to book Mikayla again soon :)”

“Heidi was fantastic with Quincy! It's so refreshing to work with someone who is not only organized but also makes sure everything is clearly laid out, ensuring everyone is on the same page. She asked great questions to understand Quincy’s needs and gave him all the care and attention he deserved. Heidi provided the perfect amount of updates and even went the extra mile to give Quincy additional stimulation by taking him to one of his favorite walking spots. She truly goes out of her way to understand the dogs she cares for and makes sure their owners feel at ease. It’s been a pleasure working with her!”

“Klaudia was a great pet sitter! She sent pictures and updates about our pup each day, which was really nice. She was easy to communicate with and we would absolutely book her again.”

“Felicia was fantastic at wrangling my beloved, but extremely difficult, elderly cat with chronic kidney disease! She was able to give my cat transdermal meds and daily subcutaneous fluids, despite my cat hating everyone but me and making an absolute scene about it every time. Felicia's care for my cat and my home made it so I could actually enjoy vacation without checking the pet cam every five minutes. I'm so grateful for her help!”

“Gloria was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond with caring for my dogs and looking after them. I’ve had other sitters in the past but Gloria really is to my standards. She even cleaned the dog bowls and sent pictures of the dogs. I really appreciated everything she did :)”

“Brandon was fantastic. He is a great communicator and clearly gave my dogs lots of love and attention while we were away. I highly recommend Brandon for your pet care needs!”

“I have to thank Collin for his patience and willingness to watch my furry duo. He managed to somehow feed my poor dogs using sorcery and sheer willpower to scrounge whatever I had left after my dog’s food was stolen from my doorstep. My dogs also adore and trust him so he gets 100/10. Thank you so much, Collin!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Comus
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 8,710 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Comus. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Comus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Comus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Comus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Comus. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
