“Nicole loves cats and you can tell. She gave Mr. Bingley sweet care and attention. She was very good about sending pictures and videos to let me know he was doing well while I was away. There was a stressful situation with the petsitter before her, and Nicole handled it all with grace, professionalism and assurance to me that all was well. That was greatly appreciated. Thanks very much Nicole for taking such good care of Mr. B.”

“Allison spent the night at our house to watch our dog and cat. We appreciated the meet and greet beforehand. The dog was well taken care of and looked like he got the snuggling he needs in addition to being given his medicines which included an eye cream. Both of our boys were well taken care of and Allison also took good care of the house. We would definitely use her again in the future!”
“Felicia did a fantastic job taking care of our dog (and house!). She went above and beyond what was expected and provided excellent care of the dog, including some post surgery care that was needed.”

“Jason was awesome and took care of our pup so well! We highly recommend him for his attention to detail and going above and beyond. Our pup definitely enjoyed the time away from us.”

“Keara did an amazing job taking care of our boy - providing regular updates and pics showing how happy he was with her while we were away. We had travelled abroad and knowing he was receiving such high quality care provided us with great comfort even though we always miss him terribly. I also wanted to add during our initial meet/greet meeting Winston and us, she was very conscientious of knowing all the intimate details needed for his care and asked real good questions. She has real good instincts and connected with him immediately and we knew we made the right choice in hiring her. We are extremely happy and grateful to have her as our pet sitter.”

“Don did a great job House-sitting with our cat and dog! Our pets loved Don and were happy and healthy when we returned. The house was in great shape and Don also did a great job looking after our plants. If you want peace of mind for your pets and home while you’re away, I highly recommend hiring Don!”

“Our dogs had a great weekend with Addie! They were by her side most of the time enjoying her company! Addie is trustworthy and great with our two cavapoos and we hope she will come back again in the future!”

“Jina surpassed all our expectations! She was very communicative, sending detailed updates, lots of videos and absolutely frame-worthy photos 😻 She made our two week trip worry free and did an amazing job taking care of our cat and apartment while we were away. It was relief to see we left our cat in great hands and how much he enjoyed Jina’s company. They quickly became best friends and we will be happy to book Jina again when needed. Thank you Jina ❤️”

“One of the best sitters I have had. Frequent updates, followed all instructions, went above and beyond. Dash was happy, well cared for, fed, clean, and loved. I felt completely at ease leaving him with Shannon.”

About: I have experience with puppies and dogs I have had 2 dogs before a pug and a German Shepard I love taking walks and being outside! I’m a college student but most of my classes are from 9am-12pm so I’m free the rest of the day for whatever your pet needs. I have my own car so I drive a lot and can do homework from my computer. My cats are my number one priority keeping them safe is everything. We always make sure to check for our babies when leaving the house or doing laundry. I’m very careful when it comes to animal Saftey and making sure they are the happiest they can ever be when I’m taking care of them.

About: Hi! I'm Darling, and I'm someone who genuinely enjoys caring for animals. While I'm new to Rover, I've always loved spending time with dogs and understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I'm responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, and I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playing fetch, cuddle time, or simply relaxing, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. I'm happy to follow your pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), potty breaks, exercise, and any special instructions. I'll also send regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for. I know every dog has their own personality, and I take the time to make sure each one feels comfortable and receives the attention they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I'm currently available with a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable and attentive care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or plenty of playtime, I'm happy to work around their routine. I believe consistency is important, so I'll follow your pet's feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and at ease. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I'll carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and exercise routines. I always keep pets supervised, use secure leashes during walks, and make sure they have fresh water, a clean environment, and lots of attention. I'll also provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel confident knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for several years and truly love making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Before getting my own dog, Kira, I cared for a Shih Tzu and an English Springer Spaniel in my home, including taking them on walks and giving them lots of attention. I’ve now cared for my Maltipoo, Kira, for four years and have taught her potty-pad training since I got her when she was only 3 months old, leash training, and different tricks. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I always make it my priority to give every dog the same love, patience, and care I give my own! My schedule is fairly flexible since I currently work part-time, although my work schedule varies from day to day and isn’t the same every week. Because of this, my availability depends on my work schedule, but I’m able to plan around it and communicate my availability in advance. I’m especially available on weekends and can often accommodate walks, drop-ins, and in-home pet care. I’m always happy to communicate my availability in advance and make sure I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve! When caring for pets in their home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and at ease. I’ll provide fresh food and water, take them on walks or give them playtime and attention, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable throughout my visit. I also understand that every pet has a different personality and needs, so I’m happy to follow any specific instructions from their owner. Most importantly, I treat every pet with the same patience, care, and love I would give my own.
“Words are inadequate to convey how THRILLED we were with Michele taking care of our VERY social 11 year old kitty. We were hoping to find someone who would spend a lot of time with him -playing and cuddling -and the pictures and videos she sent us confirmed that we had found a gem of a pet sitter! Seeing Yoshi "head bopping" Michele and flopping down next to her told us everything we needed to know and gave us great peace of mind ! Also coming home to an immaculate house after having a VERY bad experience with a previous pet sitter was a joy . Nobody ever wants to come home from a vacation and then have to clean up a mess - our house was absolutely spotless ! We will be using Michele again for sure and can't recommend her highly enough !”

“Amanda was our favorite dog sitter we’ve ever had! She was extremely communicative and sent updates everyday throughout the day without us having to ask. She also left our home in perfect condition, nice and clean. She’s also very friendly and reliable, we can tell our fur baby loved her! Would 100000% recommend Amanda to anyone and already looking forward to the next time we get to book her :)”

Shanice was absolutely wonderful with my dogs! She house-sat for us and was reliable, caring, and very responsible throughout her stay. She communicated quickly and consistently, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I had to extend my trip by one extra day, and she was incredibly flexible and kind enough to accommodate the change. She also went above and beyond by coming back to my home after some unexpected logistics glitches to make sure everything was taken care of. It’s difficult to find someone you can truly trust with your home and your pets, but Shanice was amazing! I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable, and caring pet sitter.

I cannot recommend Thelma more highly! She house-sat our cats for 10 days while we were away and did a phenomenal job. She gave updates and photos, made sure to clarify any questions with us promptly, and truly left our home cleaner than she found it. Great communication, super kind, and above all great with the cats!

Relle is wonderful! We went on a lengthy vacation and she provided excellent care of our pets, plants, etc. Her calm demeanor and personality really helped our pets adjust, especially our anxious dog. Relle sent daily updates and super cute photos, which gave us peace of mind while away. She also gave lots of attention, exercise, and entertainment to our cats and dog. Our fur babies adored her!
We have an 11-year-old Shih Tzu named Buddy who has never been boarded or crated. Because of this, our vacations have typically been limited to places we can drive so that we can take Buddy with us. We had used Rover before for drop-in visits and walks, but never for overnight house sitting. When we planned a recent vacation and didn’t have a family member available to watch Buddy, we found Nicole on Rover. Her reviews were excellent, and I believe she had a 4.9-star rating, so we decided to book with her. Before accepting the booking, Nicole came to our home for a meet-and-greet so she could meet Buddy, learn his routine, and make sure everyone was comfortable. We chose the house-sitting option because it was important to us that Buddy remain in his own home and have someone there with him. Booking Nicole was the best decision we could have made! She arrived on time and stayed with Buddy throughout our trip. She took him on multiple walks, administered his eye medication, took care of the house, and even took out the trash. Most importantly, she was wonderful with Buddy and gave him the attention and companionship he needed. Knowing that Buddy was comfortable at home and being well cared for allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without worrying about him. We felt very comfortable having Nicole in our home and caring for Buddy. We would absolutely book Nicole again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, attentive, and caring to look after their pet. Thank you, Nicole, for taking such great care of Buddy and giving us peace of mind while we were

Anna was great! She offered to come by beforehand to meet us and the dogs, which I really appreciated. She stayed overnight with them and was very responsive throughout, quickly sharing updates and photos whenever I checked in. We came home to two happy pups and I’d definitely recommend her!

Patricia is simply the best. Reliable and she knows pups and loves them; knows how to interact with them and, importantly, what questions to ask. We never had a worry or, frankly, second thought knowing she was providing care. We are so happy she helped and we will definitely use her again.

I'm so grateful to Romario for taking care of my senior cat, Neko, while I was away. Neko needs medication twice a day, and he's very shy, scared of strangers, and not easy to handle. I was honestly very nervous about leaving him, but Romario was incredibly patient and never gave up. He kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which meant a lot to me. Knowing Neko was being cared for made it much easier to enjoy my trip. If you have a cat who needs extra patience or medication, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Romario. Thank you for taking such good care of my little guy.

Luna stayed at our house with our lab for a week. Our pup seemed happy when we returned; Luna had to give her meds twice a day and follow her multi a-step feeding schedule. The house was clean and orderly ( and mail was picked up!). We hope to be in contact with Luna every time we have to be away from home she was great and communicative!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Montgomery Village on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 11,118 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Montgomery Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Montgomery Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Montgomery Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montgomery Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Montgomery Village. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
