“Klaudia was a great pet sitter! She sent pictures and updates about our pup each day, which was really nice. She was easy to communicate with and we would absolutely book her again.”

“Allison spent the night at our house to watch our dog and cat. We appreciated the meet and greet beforehand. The dog was well taken care of and looked like he got the snuggling he needs in addition to being given his medicines which included an eye cream. Both of our boys were well taken care of and Allison also took good care of the house. We would definitely use her again in the future!”
“Don was a wonderful pet sitter. He took such great care of my cats. Even my scaredy-cat loved him and even slept with him. That home was as clean as when I left it too. I will definitely book Don again.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Jenny provided! She was responsible, attentive, and truly empathetic with our two dogs, making them feel safe and loved while we were away. She also took excellent care of our home and was incredibly respectful of our space. We especially appreciated the thoughtful daily updates and how responsive she was throughout the stay. She even went out of her way to ship something we had forgotten at home—above and beyond in every way. Highly recommend!”

“Lauren was great! Took great care of our big, energetic dog and our cat! She kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and pictures. Would definitely recommend!”

“Keara was amazing! I will definitely be using her again. Our dogs and cat were treated like family. She kept us updated and got plenty of videos and photos. You can tell she really loves animals and is passionate about her job. Anyone using her is in good hands!”

“Jeffrey was amazing with our two pups. We have one who is a bit anxious and fearful around new people, especially men, and Jeffrey quickly won him over! He was available for a meet and greet and gave tons of updates and photos to put our minds at ease. He is fantastic!!”

“Leslie did a great job taking care of my dog and cat for a week. My kitchen was being renovated, and she did an outstanding job despite difficult circumstances. I will be calling on her again.”

“Xena was great with my dog, Penny! She took great pictures and sent updates throughout the day. She communicated well and I could tell my dog was well taken care of. Thanks, Xena! 😊”

“Amanda was our favorite dog sitter we’ve ever had! She was extremely communicative and sent updates everyday throughout the day without us having to ask. She also left our home in perfect condition, nice and clean. She’s also very friendly and reliable, we can tell our fur baby loved her! Would 100000% recommend Amanda to anyone and already looking forward to the next time we get to book her :)”

“Mia was wonderful to work with. She was patient and gentle with Arya and communicated to us the whole trip. Our girl doesn't like just anyone and it was clear she was very comfortable with Mia. Additionally, she was flexible to add a other booking last minute for us. We will definitely book with her in the future!”

“Taje was so amazing caring for our three dogs for a week. She sent daily pictures and communicated as much or as little as we wanted every day. We had special circumstances where one dog had to be consistently separated from another, and she handled that special situation with professionalism and expertise. Our house was cleaner than we left it (amazing considering how much our dog sheds!), and we had not one worry while we were away. We plan to use Taje again anytime we leave our house in the future!!”

“Jina was an amazing house-sitter for our dog! She gave us daily detailed updates and pictures. Our dog loved her and we felt very comfortable on our trip knowing Jina was watching him. We would absolutely book her again!”

“One of the best sitters I have had. Frequent updates, followed all instructions, went above and beyond. Dash was happy, well cared for, fed, clean, and loved. I felt completely at ease leaving him with Shannon.”

“Amanda did a wonderful job! She stayed in our home, following all instructions and leaving our house clean and tidy. Most importantly, she took great care of Winnie! We received super photos, so we knew they were playing and hanging out together. It was clear that Winnie was in good hands, whch allowed to have us a stress-free time away. Thank you!”

About: I have experience with puppies and dogs I have had 2 dogs before a pug and a German Shepard I love taking walks and being outside! I’m a college student but most of my classes are from 9am-12pm so I’m free the rest of the day for whatever your pet needs. I have my own car so I drive a lot and can do homework from my computer. My cats are my number one priority keeping them safe is everything. We always make sure to check for our babies when leaving the house or doing laundry. I’m very careful when it comes to animal Saftey and making sure they are the happiest they can ever be when I’m taking care of them.
“This was Belarria’s first time with a pet sitter she didn’t know. Since I’m her primary person and she basically mopes when I’m gone, even if being looked after by someone she knows and loves, I didn’t have any expectation that she would become best pals or anything, and that was the case and is fine. But she warmed up to Omar quickly when I was there. And she felt secure enough with him to sleep in the bed when the fireworks were happening and take comfort from his presence. She did take treats and medicine (she broke a dew claw right before we went away) from him. I’m extremely happy with the care Omar provided and will be using his services again. Highly recommend.”

“Felicia was an incredible communicator, took fantastic care of our home, and we would definitely hire her again. We even had a surprise big delivery that she handled unexpectedly. Our pup was very well taken care of!”

I cannot recommend Thelma more highly! She house-sat our cats for 10 days while we were away and did a phenomenal job. She gave updates and photos, made sure to clarify any questions with us promptly, and truly left our home cleaner than she found it. Great communication, super kind, and above all great with the cats!

Anna was great! She offered to come by beforehand to meet us and the dogs, which I really appreciated. She stayed overnight with them and was very responsive throughout, quickly sharing updates and photos whenever I checked in. We came home to two happy pups and I’d definitely recommend her!

I wanted to share how absolutely amazing Taje was. I was desperate for last-minute help with my elderly, blind, and deaf dog, as well as my elderly cat. I usually hate leaving them, but she came and stayed with them and completely put my worries aside, and I felt entirely comfortable knowing they were in her care. I could not recommend her more to take care of anyone's pets!

Abby house sat for us and provided excellent care for our 2 cats (1 very senior, serious old man and 1 young, skitzy girl). She did a great job managing complicated instructions and flawlessly cared for both cats. Abigail is a conscientious pet sitter and does a fabulous job!
We rebook Jony anytime we can…his care for our animals (dog, cat, chinchilla, and fish) and communication to us is exceptional. We recently adopted a new cat and his expertise helped us learn a few new things. We have booked him for staying at our home as well as daily drop-ins. Would highly recommend Jony.

Patricia is simply the best. Reliable and she knows pups and loves them; knows how to interact with them and, importantly, what questions to ask. We never had a worry or, frankly, second thought knowing she was providing care. We are so happy she helped and we will definitely use her again.

Amanda is fantastic with our 110-lb rescue German Shepherd, Gonzo. He has separation anxiety but you wouldn't know it when Amanda cares for him. He is happy, well-behaved, and totally comfortable with her. We left Gonzo in her care for six days and it was the first long vacation we've had in 3-years. We couldn't recommend Amanda more highly!

I'm so grateful to Romario for taking care of my senior cat, Neko, while I was away. Neko needs medication twice a day, and he's very shy, scared of strangers, and not easy to handle. I was honestly very nervous about leaving him, but Romario was incredibly patient and never gave up. He kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which meant a lot to me. Knowing Neko was being cared for made it much easier to enjoy my trip. If you have a cat who needs extra patience or medication, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Romario. Thank you for taking such good care of my little guy.

Luna stayed at our house with our lab for a week. Our pup seemed happy when we returned; Luna had to give her meds twice a day and follow her multi a-step feeding schedule. The house was clean and orderly ( and mail was picked up!). We hope to be in contact with Luna every time we have to be away from home she was great and communicative!

Carolina did a wonderful job talking care of our dog over the 4th of July weekend. She met with me before the weekend to meet our dog and understand all of her needs. She kept me updated during the weekend. I will definitely use her again and highly recommend her.

I was out of town and I got a alarm motion on my home camera and I saw FIREMEN in my house!! I texted Shannon and she jumped into action and she was at my house within 15 minutes to take care of my precious Cody. I Highly recommend Shannon and I will use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Washington Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Washington Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Washington Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
