Addie was fantastic! Our neurotic dogs were happy and healthy when we got home, so we know they got lots of love and attention. Addie washed the sheets and remade the bed. And, when our flight home was delayed, she was able to stay until she was sure we made it back! Highly recommend, will definitely book Addie again.

Taje was so amazing caring for our three dogs for a week. She sent daily pictures and communicated as much or as little as we wanted every day. We had special circumstances where one dog had to be consistently separated from another, and she handled that special situation with professionalism and expertise. Our house was cleaner than we left it (amazing considering how much our dog sheds!), and we had not one worry while we were away. We plan to use Taje again anytime we leave our house in the future!!

Don did a great job watching our Maggie! He was very responsive to us and attentive to our little girl. He would often send us pics of her while we were away. Communication was great and Don did just as he said he would. He even stayed later for us due to our flight being delayed. 100% hope to book Don in the future!

About: With over seven years of professional experience in animal care, I’m passionate about providing safe, compassionate, and reliable care for every pet I meet. My background includes managing a busy doggy daycare, working as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital, earning my PetSmart Pet Care Certification, and providing dependable in-home pet sitting for families. I’m experienced with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, and I’m comfortable administering medications and recognizing signs that may require extra attention. Whether your pet needs drop-in visits, overnight care in your home, daily walks, playtime, or extra TLC, you can feel confident knowing they’ll be treated with the same love, patience, and attention I’d give my own. I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to provide attentive, reliable care for your pets. Whether you need weekday visits, weekend care, overnight stays, or last-minute drop-ins, I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. I believe pets thrive when they receive consistent care and attention, and I have the time to make sure they get exactly that while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or welcoming them into mine, I’ll make sure they receive the same love, patience, and attention I’d give my own pets. I understand that every animal has unique routines, preferences, and needs, so I take the time to learn what makes them feel most comfortable. In your home, I’ll respect your space, follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, provide plenty of updates with photos, and make sure your home is left just as I found it. If your pet is staying with me, they’ll have a clean, safe, and calm environment with constant supervision, plenty of enrichment, exercise, fresh water, and lots of affection. With my background as a doggy daycare manager, veterinary assistant, and professional pet sitter, I’m experienced in recognizing changes in behavior or health, administering medications when needed, and responding calmly in unexpected situations. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with both you and your pet, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they’re in caring, experienced hands while you’re away.

Alex was great! She spent time at our house while we were on vacation for several days. Upon meeting our 2 dogs (Mini Australian Shepherd & Shar Pei mix) and 1 parakeet she was calm and mindful of respecting the animal’s willingness to say hello. By the end of our meet and greet both dogs were really comfortable and acting normal around her. We felt positively about the decision to work with Alex instead of sending the dogs to a kennel. She did not disappoint. Each day we got photos and updates of her time at our house with the dogs. We could tell our pups had plenty of company, play, and walks. Alex cares, she communicates consistently and openly, and is reliable. She exceeded any expectations we had as first time Rover users. We would absolutely hire Alex again to help us during any future trips.

I have a dog of my own that I had ever since he was a puppy and he is 11 years old now so we basically grew up together. Not only I take care of a dog at home I also work with dogs on a daily basis. I work at a dog daycare facility so I feed, monitor, and train. I also work at a vet hospital where I help with the sick animals so you can see that animals are my life. If you have me looking after your fur babies I can guarantee that they are in the best hands. I am available for boarding on Sundays from 2pm to 5am. Wednesday from 2pm to anytime you want. I am also available on Thursdays openly. First I will make sure that they are well fed and well hydrated especially during the summer and have some quality playtime. About: I’ve had at least 1 dog in the house since 2016, I love taking care of pets and being present with them. I love their unconditional love and would love to help as many as possible!🙏🏾 I’m currently a student at Stonehill College and we have scheduled breaks. For now, when I am home on breaks, my schedule is wide open. I have a pretty consistent unofficial routine of going on runs, lifting weights, and hanging out with my girlfriend Personally, I have one dog at home and when I get back I love to take him on long walks. I also just have a mental clock of refilling his food and water. Every other week or so we get him showered and cleaned up. I’ve also helped take care of other peoples pets stopping by and taking them on walks.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including my own 13-year-old companion, Angel. She’s a wonderful example of how older pets can still be energetic and joyful with the right care and attention. I understand the unique needs of senior animals, such as gentle exercise, medication management, and extra patience. Additionally, I’m skilled at adapting activities to suit each pet’s age and personality, whether it’s training puppies or providing comfort to older pets. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe, loved, and engaged, no matter their stage of life. I work part time so i’m just down to do this whenever I am free . THE MORE BABIES THE BETTER , I have a semi flexible schedule I have a fenced yard and I can care for your baby almost as well as you can IF YOU LET ME GIMME THE FUR BABIESSSSS

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life and truly love spending time with them. I have two dogs of my own and have experience dogsitting multiple dogs at once, including a 15-year-old dog with severe arthritis, so I understand the patience and gentle care senior dogs need. I’m extremely reliable, active, and will always make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away! My schedule is very flexible this summer! I occasionally babysit for family friends and work lacrosse tournaments some weekends, but I am free and available for walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, and pet sitting throughout the week! I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. In their home, I try to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including their feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions I receive from their owner. I make sure to give them lots of attention, exercise, and cuddles while also keeping the owners home clean and secure. My goal is to help all fur babies feel relaxed and cared for while their owners are away!

5-Star Review for Hannah Hannah did an absolutely fantastic job babysitting my three dogs—Cooper, Cameron, and Anita! She was especially great with Anita, who has tons of energy and needs constant engagement. Hannah kept her entertained and active, which is no small feat! I came home to three happy, healthy dogs and a well-cared-for house, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. I also really appreciated that Hannah stayed for the full agreed-upon time, even with our extended travel delays late into the evening. It’s clear she is responsible, reliable, and truly cares about the pets she watches. I’ll definitely be using Hannah’s services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter!

By far the best pet sitter I have ever hired! Andiela is extremely professional, clear in communication, and very thorough. She was available on short notice and treated my pets as if they were her own. She didn't just walk and feed them; she spent quality time playing with them and making sure they were happy and comfortable. I came home to a clean house and to very happy and relaxed pets. A+ service!! Andiela cared for my cat and dog and took the time to know both of them and their behaviors well, gaining the ability to bond with both my shy cat and, initially anxious, then energetic dog. I could go on and on about how great she was. Her energy was amazing. I would definitely recommend and rebook her myself in the future! Thanks Andiela.

5/5 Stars – Emma is an Outstanding Cat Sitter! I recently had Emma look after my two cats while I was away for 4 days, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. We had a nice meet and greet and when I returned, my cats were happy, healthy, and clearly well-cared-for. They met me with their usual purrs (no signs of stress at all). The house was left in perfect order—everything tidied up, and even a little note. We had great communication by email. When planning my next trip and will definitely book Emma again. If you want a reliable, caring sitter who treats your pets (and home) like her own, Emma is the one! Highly recommend.

Alyia has sat for our dogs, Camden and Brewer, twice now. The most recent time was for almost a week. Both dogs can be a handful for different reasons. We felt so good knowing they were well taken care of and that Alyia really enjoys hanging out with them. She was an excellent communicator and we were able to focus on spending time with our family on vacation because we knew she had them under control. We’re definitely planning to book with her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Burnham Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Burnham Hills on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 11,255 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burnham Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burnham Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burnham Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burnham Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burnham Hills. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
