“I simply cannot express the relief I had while traveling with Vanessa as my house/pet sitter. I have 2 cats and was babysitting my daughters cat, who arrived the day I left. Vanessa sent pics everyday of the cats snuggled with her or chilling in their fav spots! My trip was very unexpected, and it was my first time using Rover. I’ve always wary booked Vanessa again for a trip I had planned and was going to take my cat to my daughters, but it was so much more relaxing for them here in their home❤️”

“Duncan was wonderful, very attentive to the unusual needs of our 8 year old GSD, and very helpful with his ball chasing addiction! We highly recommend Duncan. His dog knowledge, love, and attention to their needs is palpable.”

“Tyler stayed at our house for 5 days with our dog and she was as happy as she’s ever been when we returned. Tyler is very reliable, responsive, and respectful. Would get my strong recommendation for anybody’s dog care needs!”

“Charlie house sat for us for a week. He took amazing care of our cat and dog. Charlie was very professional and an excellent communicator. When we got home, the pets were happy and the house was immaculate. I highly recommend Charlie for pet sitting. We'll be using his services again!”

About: I've had family dogs for 13 years, but started taking care of some of my neighbors' dogs 5 years ago, whether it be taking them for potty breaks or staying over at their house to give them attentive care. I work part time at a pet boarding place as a kennel tech, so I have lots of experience with many different breeds and temperaments of both cats and dogs. I've worked with dogs of all sizes, from Yorkie to Saint Bernard, and have lots of experience caring for both puppies and senior pets that might need more rigorous attention. I will be working part-time this summer, meaning that on the occasional days I work, I am available any time before 8am and then after 1-2pm. I can still stay over with your pet any day, that just means that on workdays, I would feed and walk them (And any other things necessary) before 8am, and then have to leave for work and then come back at 1-2. Whenever I am not actively at work, I can spend all my time caring for your pets! I am experienced at reading pet body language and adapting to how they respond. I am very communicative and will send lots of updates about your pet, including daily pictures of your fur babies! I can supply treats (with your approval) and can take them to parks and other places for walks, as I have a car and license. I'm dedicated to making sure your animal is as happy as can be :-)
“Leah was amazing! She was so sweet and loving with my Lily, gave her lots of playtime and cuddles. It was my first time leaving my 12 week puppy with someone else, so I was nervous of course but Leah made me feel so comfortable and sent lots of photos and videos throughout the day so I felt at peace! Leah also has a 9 month old puppy so it was so helpful to chat with her about her experiences and discuss puppyhood, she had lots of tips for me. Would definitely recommend Leah, she is such a thoughtful and responsible dog sitter!”

“Addie was amazing! Our pup and Addie had an eventful week with a large thunderstorm that brought multiple house/yard issues. Addie was calm the whole time helping not only our pup but us deal with multiple situations from afar. Our pup was clearly well cared for even during multiple house issues. We cannot thank Addie enough for the car of the pup, but also the willingness to help above and beyond original plans due to unexpected house issues. She’s the best - cannot recommend her enough!”

“Jennifer has been so wonderful and amazing, she has helped us several times to take care of our girls while we traveled, and also kept such great care of our home. Thank you Jennifer!”

“Klaudia was a great pet sitter! She sent pictures and updates about our pup each day, which was really nice. She was easy to communicate with and we would absolutely book her again.”

About: Hello! I am a 23 year old with lots of pet experience. I have my own dog named beau. He is a 4 year old lab mix whom I love very much. I have been doing pet care and been around pets my entire life. I used to foster puppies 3-4 at a time. I am currently looking for a full time position and am currently unemployed so I have tons of free time and a schedule that is very flexible. I have a fenced yard at my house along with many many toys and other pet accessories. I also have lots of experience house sitting and know how to be a responsible guest in someone else’s home.
“Omar and Claudia are exceptional! They took excellent care of my puppy Ellie while I was away on a weekend trip. After our initial meet-and-greet, my husband and I felt comfortable and confident that my fur baby would be in good hands. Omar and Claudia are professional adults who are very polite and have kind, caring hearts. As a frequent traveler, I feel so fortunate to have met Omar and Claudia, whom I can trust, and who can give good care and love to my baby Ellie.”

About: Hi! I’m a devoted animal lover and a single mom to my almost 5-year-old son, Tucker. Animals have always been a special part of our lives. For more than 15 years, I’ve helped care for my parents’ dogs, including watching them whenever my parents travel, so I understand how important it is to have someone dependable, attentive, and loving caring for your pets. Our family also has a gecko, and we previously cared for baby chicks, so we’re comfortable with animals of different sizes, personalities, and needs. Tucker especially adores dogs and has been hoping for one of his own. Since our current lease does not allow us to have a dog, pet sitting gives us the wonderful opportunity to share our love, attention, and care with your furry family member. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine will always come first. Any interaction with Tucker will be closely supervised and based entirely on your pet’s comfort level and your preferences. We would love to give your pet plenty of affection, playtime, and companionship while giving you peace of mind that they are being treated like family. Tucker is home for the summer, and I work from home three days a week, letting me give pets plenty of love, attention, and care. I care for pets in their own homes, following their normal feeding, walking, playtime, and medication routines. We’re also available for overnight stays when needed.
“Tabatha was absolutely perfect!!!! She was prompt for the arrival time, she kept us updated with photos and messages. We felt very relaxed knowing our babies were in good hands!”

“Malek was amazing! Both Xochi and Vinny were well taken care of and the house was left behind immaculate! Xochi and Vinny have found their go to dog sitter, highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m Kelsey, and caring for animals has always been something that comes really naturally to me. I recently adopted my cat, Louis, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I work full-time in behavioral health, so I bring a lot of patience, attentiveness, and calm energy into how I care for animals—especially those who may be a little anxious or need extra reassurance. I’m available for drop-ins and walks, with extra flexibility on Tuesdays and Fridays when I work from home. I’m happy to follow detailed routines, send regular updates, and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs playtime, a walk, or just some company, I’d love to help! Pet care fits really naturally into my weekly routine. I work full-time during the day, but I’m available for morning, evening, and weekend visits, with extra flexibility on Tuesdays and Fridays when I work from home. I try to keep my schedule balanced so I can be fully present with each pet, and not feel rushed between visits. I’m happy to stick to consistent routines, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate specific timing needs when I can. I’m especially a good fit for pets who benefit from a calm, steady presence or a little extra patience. I care for every pet the way I’d want someone to care for mine, with patience, attention, and a really calm energy. I recently adopted my cat, Louisville aka Louis, so I know how important it is to trust the person coming into your space. In your home, I’m very respectful of routines and will follow instructions closely to keep things consistent and low-stress. I take my time building trust, especially with shy or anxious pets (and cats who like to take their time warming up). I’m mindful about safety - secure doors, leashes, clean spaces, and making sure your pet is always comfortable. I’ll also send thoughtful updates and photos so you feel connected and at ease while you’re away. Whether your pet wants playtime, a walk, or just a cozy presence nearby, I’m happy to meet them where they are.
“Dehara did a wonderful job watching our dog Sully while we were away. They played fetch together and went on walks. She gave our dog all the attention that he needed on a fun doggy vacation. We received constant updates with photos included. We would highly recommend and definitely utilize her again.”

I cannot say enough good things about Alexandra! She was on time every time, gave extra time and attention, and really went the extra mile for my three dogs. She was an excellent communicator when my dog didn’t want to take his meds and problem solved through it. Would 100% hire her again.

Leah was wonderful with Ruby and our family. She made us feel comfortable sending numerous videos, pictures and communicating with us. She took care to make Ruby comfortable since she is often shy with new people. She took her for walks and played her favorite games. We highly recommend her to all who are looking for someone to take care of their special pet.

Annesha watched our two dogs for two nights and did a wonderful job. One of our dogs is older with some medical problems and one is just a year old, and she handled their different needs very well. They both seemed extremely happy with her. She is very conscientious and responsive. She sent pictures multiple times a day, which made us quite happy. We would highly recommend her and will be using her again.

McKenzie did a great job with our two dogs and cat. She was super responsive, sharing pictures each day and communicating any issues. One of our dogs has major trust issues but McKenzie was patient and by the end of the first night, our pup was up with her in the sofa, sleeping comfortably. Thanks so much!
Sierra was amazing to work with. She met us and our 2 dogs, to be sure we were all a good match. She was incredibly friendly to both us and our dogs. We have 1 very shy dog and she was so patient with him. She tried various different methods to gain his trust, and it finally worked. He came to her for years and to give her some "kisses " We knew that when she won him over, it was a definite match!

FAQs for House Sitting - Brookeville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brookeville on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 11,469 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brookeville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brookeville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brookeville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brookeville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookeville. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
