“Duncan fit in great with the dogs and was everything we hoped for leaving our older dogs for a long weekend. He was communicative before and during the house-sit, and left the house very clean. I don’t doubt he treated the dogs like family and we will definitely hire him in the future.”

“Addie was wonderful! She is very easy to communicate with and her response time is excellent. Chess was very happy and well taken care of while we were away. We loved getting daily pics of Chess from Addie.”

“Ryan did an amazing job taking care of our Ricki in our house while we were away. She constantly communicated with us and sent pictures. She also did an excellent job managing Ricki's distrust of strangers. She also helped us by feeding our fish, and collecting our mail. Overall and excellent job, I will definitely use her services”

“Klaudia was a great pet sitter! She sent pictures and updates about our pup each day, which was really nice. She was easy to communicate with and we would absolutely book her again.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including my own 13-year-old companion, Angel. She’s a wonderful example of how older pets can still be energetic and joyful with the right care and attention. I understand the unique needs of senior animals, such as gentle exercise, medication management, and extra patience. Additionally, I’m skilled at adapting activities to suit each pet’s age and personality, whether it’s training puppies or providing comfort to older pets. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe, loved, and engaged, no matter their stage of life. I work part time so i’m just down to do this whenever I am free . THE MORE BABIES THE BETTER , I have a semi flexible schedule I have a fenced yard and I can care for your baby almost as well as you can IF YOU LET ME GIMME THE FUR BABIESSSSS
About: Hi my name is Hazel Hernandez! I have three pups and I have grown up with multiple dogs my whole life. I am very cautious with any animal, please text me for my availability, since o have clients throughout the day! Im currently not working, however if you have any job openings or opportunities you may know then please don’t be afraid to let me know, since I’m trying to save! Dog walking right now is flexible since I’m a high school graduate and I will be going to community college which I will try my best to always be flexible. When it comes to taking care of my own pets, I’m very careful with the environment. Me and my pets are in if we are at home, I make sure that they’re safe that there is nothing on the ground that could potentially hurt them. I’m very careful, I have had wild experiences but I have learned how to keep my dogs in a safe and clean environment. When it comes to taking care of other people‘s dog, I’m more careful, I treat them like if they were my own dogs. A dog should never be hurt or harm by someone. They should be always safe, clean and happy. I try to be as transparent as possible with clients. I would send pictures, videos if necessary / requested and I would definitely make sure to have fun with their pets because they will be part of me.🐶🤍
“Claudia and Omar were just great. They stayed with my dog for 5 days and I was was concerned at first that since my dog didn't really know them it might make her anxious. Not at all. She seemed like she barely noticed I was gone when I returned:(. My house was in the same shape as when I left so hard to know they were even there. Highly recommend them and will use them again when the occasion arises.”

“Always so responsible and communicative. Loves my animals a lot, and when I come home the house is clean and the pets are happy. I have booked with Sarah many times and will continue to do so.”

“Charlie house sat for us for a week. He took amazing care of our cat and dog. Charlie was very professional and an excellent communicator. When we got home, the pets were happy and the house was immaculate. I highly recommend Charlie for pet sitting. We'll be using his services again!”

“Felicia was an incredible communicator, took fantastic care of our home, and we would definitely hire her again. We even had a surprise big delivery that she handled unexpectedly. Our pup was very well taken care of!”

“Danny did a phenomenal job watching our two dogs, three cats and one bird over the holidays while we dealt with unexpected must do travel. When we needed to extend a few days, he graciously accommodated that as well.”

About: Cats and dogs have been part of my everyday life since childhood. Today my wife and I share our home with two cats and two dogs — so your pet is joining a household that already speaks their language. I've cared for family members' and friends' animals through house sitting, in-home drop-ins, feeding, walks, and play — at my place and at theirs. Laid-back, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals. Pet care is my full-time focus right now. While I take cybersecurity courses and work toward a new career in tech, my days are built around home — which means your pet gets consistent, attentive care every single day of the week. I am available for both daycare and boarding seven days a week with no gaps in availability. A typical day looks like this: Meals Three feeding periods — morning, midday, and evening — keep pets on a consistent routine throughout the day. Walks Dogs go out 6 to 7 times a day, roughly every 3 hours, so there are no long stretches of waiting — they stay active and comfortable all day long. Cat play Cats enjoy one to two dedicated play sessions each day to keep them stimulated and engaged. My home is a pet-friendly, well-organized space designed with animal comfort and safety in mind. Here's what you can expect: Resident dogs Two friendly small dogs — a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua — live in the home and are great companions for visiting dogs. They've spent time at doggy daycare themselves and are comfortable and experienced around other dogs, which helps guests settle in faster. Cats in the home There are cats in the household. Baby gates are in place throughout the home to create separated zones as needed, keeping cats and dogs comfortable and giving everyone their own space to decompress. Yard & outdoor time My yard is not fenced, so all outdoor time is leashed. With 6 to 7 walks a day, dogs get more than enough fresh air and exercise — and they're never left unattended outside. Crating A small dog crate is available if a pet is crate-trained or needs a quiet retreat. I'm also happy to use a crate provided by the owner if your dog is more comfortable in their own space.

“Brandon was fantastic. He is a great communicator and clearly gave my dogs lots of love and attention while we were away. I highly recommend Brandon for your pet care needs!”

“Samantha was fantastic! She did everything that was asked of her and the pups and cats were happy when they were with her. Our home was taken care of when we were gone and we can’t wait to use her again!”

I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and set of needs, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. Whether it's encouraging good leash manners, practicing basic commands with young dogs, or providing patient, gentle care for older pets, I focus on creating a positive and stress-free experience. I believe in clear communication, reliability, and treating every dog as if they were my own. You'll receive regular updates, photos, and peace of mind knowing your pet is getting attentive, dependable care from someone who truly enjoys spending time with animals. I currently offer dog care services during evenings and weekends, making me a great option for busy professionals, families, or anyone who needs dependable care outside of regular business hours. I'm available for evening walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays (if applicable), and weekend pet sitting. I strive to be flexible and work with your schedule whenever possible to ensure your pet receives the care, attention, and exercise they need. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, my priority is creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I follow your pet's regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and any special care instructions. I provide plenty of attention, affection, and exercise to help your pet feel happy and secure. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat your home with the utmost respect, keep everything clean and tidy, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 11,244 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Unity. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Unity walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Unity maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Unity choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Unity. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
