“Julia did a great job with Oakley! She took for a nice long walks and he seemed super happy in the pictures she shared. She had good communication and I would definitely used her again.”

“By far the best pet sitter we have ever had. Always on time , always friendly! Also we are in constant communication which is extremely helpful considering schedule changes happen. I love the reports of my pets being goofy and loving her visits. My pets love her visits so very much! My dogs attitude has improved very much since we have had her in our lives. And my life has been more relaxed knowing I have a dependable wonderful person looking after my pets and entering my home with no worries or stress as to what happens when I am not around. She is all around amazing!”

“Melissa is wonderful! I have used her services twice. She is very communicative and goes above and beyond. She is attentive and makes sure to check my dog’s water bowl. She sends me great pictures of their walks together. She gave me great peace of mind!”

“This is our second week with Alissa and she had made us and our Milo super comfortable and has made this experience super easy for us. Alissa thank you for your attention with Milo and your feedback on each walk!”

About: I love dogs and they seem to love me...cats, too! I am currently looking for pet sitting clients, in my home or the client's home. I live on a peaceful, private and safe property, bordered by the woods and a lake in Brookeville. I have cared for my own pets for most of my life and have also worked as a dog walker and dog hander at a dog daycare center. I have also fostered and rescued dogs and cats. I have an extensive background in unrelated fields, such as music, graphics/video, real estate, property management and working as a home healthcare aide. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Best ~ Mark I can always put my pet clients and visitors first. Outside of working with animals, I work on music, home renovations, read, etc. My home is a large garage that I converted into a guest house with a recording studio. The house where I have pet guests is a private home near the woods. I have over 2 acres where I can walk dogs, plus 80 acres of woods behind the house for hikes. I have security cameras at the property. There is only one neighbor nearby and it is a very quiet and peaceful area. I am completely trustworthy as far as caring for client's pets. I have worked as a guitar teacher and pet handler, various other jobs that required background checks.
About: I don't have any pets of my own at the moment, so I get my daily dose of pet cuddles by caring for my friends' pets, from an energetic 6 month old puppy to senior dogs and cats. I've always been a cat person and proudly consider myself a bit of a cat lady, but I genuinely love animals of all kinds. In college, I even brought my betta fish home with me every weekend to make sure he was well cared for. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I enjoy making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I work from home, so I am able to fit in some pet visits into my day. Spending time with with a cuddly friend would be one of my favorite parts of the week! I also work a part time job some evenings, but with advance notice I'm flexible and happy to accommodate your pet's schedule whenever possible. I know pets thrive on routine, so I'll do my best to keep things the way they're used to. From special feeding routines to favorite toys and cuddle time, I'll treat your pet with the same care and attention I'd want for my own.
About: I've always had pets at home. I'm caring, patient, responsible, and dependable. I've had dogs in my life for over the past 15 years and got my very own pup 8 years ago. I've always been the friend who raises her hand to help traveling friends with their pets. My pup is a tiny maltipoo, Mona, who I found out was special needs and have been caring for her since. I've been on the other end of having to write in detail how she should be cared for in my absence. My goal is to treat all animals as my own. I currently work for myself and do it remote, which gives me plenty of flexibility. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, take them for walks, play with them, and make sure they’re comfortable and happy. I live in a house with 3 dogs and 2 cats (not all mine) and understand the importance of maintaining their usual feeding, walking, and sleeping routines. I have a special needs pup myself and know how important consistency is. I do my very best to follow their normal routines as closely as possible and make sure they receive plenty of attention and exercise. I can also follow any instructions you provide regarding food, medications, behavior, or other needs. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can see how your pet is doing.
“Stellar communication and super adaptable to my changing plans. I appreciated his focus on safety for my pup by initiating a meet and greet and being contentious of the heat index with my senior dog’s capabilities.”

“Julia, I want to thank you for stepping up and helping us when another walker had a family emergency starting the first day of the booking. Moxie enjoyed your company and attention and I was able to complete a business transaction without the distraction of worrying about Moxies's welfare. Good Job!”

About: From doing grooming and farm chores at a horse rescue and watching neighborhood dogs to raising my own terrier, I’ve gained experience with a wide variety of different breeds, sizes, ages and species. Need someone to look after your dog or farmsit while you’re away? Got an exotic pet, goat, sheep, horse or dog you need a sitter for? No problem! I delight in caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Almost all species and breeds are welcome here. I can also come to your farm or stable for horses and livestock animals. Note that I cannot take cats due to cat allergies. I’m currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets! Dogs will be walked daily and will have free access to a large, fully fenced in yard. I can come to your house for any farm animals or exotics. I have a large fenced yard, plenty of pet toys and live in a suburban neighborhood filled with plenty of good parks to go for walks in. Any instructions you give as an owner will be respected and followed. Additionally, I am a private service for boarding! If you book me for your pets, then they will be guaranteed to be the only animals staying with me at the time. If I’m caring for horses or other farm animals, then I will come to your place rather than take them home. Horses will be groomed everyday as well as exercised according to your specifications.

“Teresa was very good with our little yapping dog! Our little girl barks at everyone and everything. She was very good with her. She was also very flexible when our trip went awry and we needed her for longer.”

About: As a dog trainer, prioritizing safety with dogs and building trust with their owners is fundamental to creating a successful and positive training experience. Safety ensures the physical and emotional well-being of the dogs, while trust with owners fosters confidence in your methods and strengthens the partnership needed for effective training outcomes. **Safety with Dogs**: Safety is the cornerstone of any responsible dog training program. By creating a secure environment, you minimize risks of injury or stress for the dogs. This involves using positive reinforcement techniques, such as reward-based training, to encourage desired behaviors without causing fear or anxiety. For example, using treats, praise, or play to reinforce commands like "sit" or "stay" helps dogs learn in a way that feels safe and enjoyable. Avoiding harsh methods, like choke collars or physical corrections, prevents potential harm and builds a dog’s confidence. Additionally, assessing each dog’s temperament and needs allows you to tailor training to their comfort level, ensuring they feel secure. For instance, a reactive dog may need gradual exposure to triggers in a controlled setting to prevent overwhelm. Maintaining a safe physical space—free from hazards, with secure leashes or barriers during group sessions—further protects the dogs and sets them up for success. **Building Trust with Owners**: Trust with owners is equally critical, as they are integral to the training process. Owners need to feel confident that you prioritize their dog’s welfare and respect their goals. This starts with clear, transparent communication about your methods, emphasizing your commitment to safe, humane techniques. For example, explaining why you use positive reinforcement and how it benefits their dog helps owners feel informed and involved. Listening to their concerns, such as a dog’s specific behavioral issues or their own anxieties about training, shows empathy and builds rapport. Providing consistent updates on progress, offering practical tips for owners to reinforce training at home, and demonstrating measurable results—like a dog responding reliably to commands—further solidify trust. By fostering an open, collaborative relationship, you empower owners to feel like active partners in their dog’s development. **Why It Matters**: Your emphasis on safety ensures dogs thrive in a stress-free environment, leading to faster learning and lasting behavioral change. Simultaneously, building trust with owners creates a loyal client base who feel confident in your expertise and are more likely to recommend your services. This dual focus not only improves training outcomes but also establishes you as a compassionate, reliable professional in the field. As someone who works from home, pet care seamlessly fits into my daily routine. Having owned dogs before, I’m experienced with their needs and love incorporating walks, playtime, and cuddles into my schedule. My flexible hours allow me to adapt to each dog’s unique routine, ensuring they get the attention and care they deserve, whether it’s a quick walk or a full day of sitting. Prioritizing safety with dogs and building trust with their owners is fundamental to creating a successful and positive training experience. Safety ensures the physical and emotional well-being of the dogs, while trust with owners fosters confidence in your methods and strengthens the partnership needed for effective training outcomes.
About: My family and I have always had cats and dogs growing up. Our pets are family! As a mom to 2 young kids, I am unable to put the time and care into a doggie of my own … so I need YOURS to love up on! I am a preschool teacher and off for the summer so I am available and flexible! Other than dropping/picking up my kids from camp, I’m free! I have a fantastic path right behind my house that I always walked / would walk my dogs, if your baby stays with me. I am also happy to visit your pup(s) at their home and have them show me around their neighborhood! Anything to make your doggo happy, is what I want :)

“I used Rover.com for the first time and found Emily who lives close by. She walked both our dogs twice a day while we were out of town as my live at home daughter works late. It was pretty clear the dogs loved seeing her and enjoyed the walks and attention while we were away. Greatly appreciated the texts and pictures of the dogs. We will definitely be using Emily again.”
“Jillian is awesome. My dog loves her and she is wonderful with him. He is a big high energy guy and she walked him and spent good time getting him tired out and happy. We used her while we were on vacation but liked her so much decided to use her weekly to walk him.”

Allysa was great! She took good care of my 3 years old active Goldendoodle. She was always on time and she was always making sure my dog eat something since he didn’t want to eat while I was away and she keeps me updated all the time. I highly recommend Allysa’s service! She is sweet and kind.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
