About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of dog breeds for about 10 years, including dogs with special dietary needs. Most of my experience is with overnight stays, which included feeding and walking. I’m currently working in the evenings and am free for the rest of the day. I am less available on weekends but can still stop in for feeding/walks cuddles in the evenings. I am not able to care for dogs in my home, however I’m able to come to your home and care for your dog as needed.

“Tiffney was wonderful. This was my first time using Rover and I was a little apprehensive. She went the extra mile. She made the effort to meet me before sitting for the dog, and when I met her in person , I knew immediately she would be great. She is very down to earth and very warm and caring. She does Rover full-time and she's a little bit older meaning around my age; so she takes her work seriously and loves working with the animals. She sent updates daily w photos every day. I felt comfortable that my senior dog was in good hands. I highly recommend her.”

“Helena was very professional, arrived at agreed upon time and took my two large dogs for walks. She was reliable, the dogs liked her, and she was quick to reply. Highly recommend.”

About: As a dog trainer, prioritizing safety with dogs and building trust with their owners is fundamental to creating a successful and positive training experience. Safety ensures the physical and emotional well-being of the dogs, while trust with owners fosters confidence in your methods and strengthens the partnership needed for effective training outcomes. **Safety with Dogs**: Safety is the cornerstone of any responsible dog training program. By creating a secure environment, you minimize risks of injury or stress for the dogs. This involves using positive reinforcement techniques, such as reward-based training, to encourage desired behaviors without causing fear or anxiety. For example, using treats, praise, or play to reinforce commands like "sit" or "stay" helps dogs learn in a way that feels safe and enjoyable. Avoiding harsh methods, like choke collars or physical corrections, prevents potential harm and builds a dog’s confidence. Additionally, assessing each dog’s temperament and needs allows you to tailor training to their comfort level, ensuring they feel secure. For instance, a reactive dog may need gradual exposure to triggers in a controlled setting to prevent overwhelm. Maintaining a safe physical space—free from hazards, with secure leashes or barriers during group sessions—further protects the dogs and sets them up for success. **Building Trust with Owners**: Trust with owners is equally critical, as they are integral to the training process. Owners need to feel confident that you prioritize their dog’s welfare and respect their goals. This starts with clear, transparent communication about your methods, emphasizing your commitment to safe, humane techniques. For example, explaining why you use positive reinforcement and how it benefits their dog helps owners feel informed and involved. Listening to their concerns, such as a dog’s specific behavioral issues or their own anxieties about training, shows empathy and builds rapport. Providing consistent updates on progress, offering practical tips for owners to reinforce training at home, and demonstrating measurable results—like a dog responding reliably to commands—further solidify trust. By fostering an open, collaborative relationship, you empower owners to feel like active partners in their dog’s development. **Why It Matters**: Your emphasis on safety ensures dogs thrive in a stress-free environment, leading to faster learning and lasting behavioral change. Simultaneously, building trust with owners creates a loyal client base who feel confident in your expertise and are more likely to recommend your services. This dual focus not only improves training outcomes but also establishes you as a compassionate, reliable professional in the field. As someone who works from home, pet care seamlessly fits into my daily routine. Having owned dogs before, I’m experienced with their needs and love incorporating walks, playtime, and cuddles into my schedule. My flexible hours allow me to adapt to each dog’s unique routine, ensuring they get the attention and care they deserve, whether it’s a quick walk or a full day of sitting. As a dog trainer, prioritizing safety with dogs and building trust with their owners is fundamental to creating a successful and positive training experience. Safety ensures the physical and emotional well-being of the dogs, while trust with owners fosters confidence in your methods and strengthens the partnership needed for effective training outcomes.

About: Dog loving empty nester - I’m happy to spoil your fur baby for company only a dog can deliver. I lost our Golden summer ‘24 after 16 years of so much love and joy. I grew up with a mom that trained dogs and horses and have a lot of experience with many different breeds, sizes and ages. I currently have not found our new fur baby so yours will have undivided attention. 💕 While the yard is not fenced - I live in a community where along the 1/2 mile drive to through the community - there are 6 fenced in play areas for pets and families. I am an avid walker and would enjoy having furry company on my walks. I look forward to spoiling your fur baby!! Hybrid work from home - and in person 1 mile from home. Your pet would typically not be home alone - and if so - not more than 2 hours. Your pet will have run of the house. And cared for as requested as no two pet owners, and pets have the same needs and or desire. 💕

About: I've taken care of my own dogs since I was 10, and I've been a dog sitter for others since I was 15. I count myself lucky to find this gig, and I'd consider your pet lucky for finding me! During most the year I'm a college student, but now I'm home and looking for work. Pet sitting allows me to spend time with dogs AND make money, talk about a win win. I make sure to provide frequent walks, and plenty of play time. I set alarms for feeding schedules so that I never forget, and I'm always paying attention in case a dog decides to be mischievous.

“Ariella is a great dog walker and sitter. As soon as she came into my house, my dog Lulu was happy and wagging. She took her for a walk and handled her great (she’s a bigger dog).”

About: I had a small shitzhu when I was younger and I now have a beagle mix that is 5 years old! I have always taken care of my dogs and I watched family friends dogs for weeks at a time when they were away. I love animals and I love to be active, so this would be perfect for me! I am currently unemployed and recently finished my third year at the University of Maryland, College Park, so I have a lot of free time to care for your pets! I will follow all given directions and make sure to be aware of any signs from the dog to cater to their needs! I can do whatever is necessary to keep the dog safe, calm, and satisfied.

About: I first became responsible for taking care of a dog when I was in the 7th grade, and my pup has taught me so much about how to care for dogs in general. Above necessary things like walks, potty breaks, and food/water, I like to learn how dogs communicate with their behavior, how they like to play and just live their lives. I have taken care of big and small dogs, puppies and senior dogs, and feel ready to adapt to each animal. I also have cared for up to three pups at a time - a handful but oh so worth it. I work in theater, and my schedule can be inconsistent so I will always communicate my commitments up front. Typically mornings and nights I am free, and I am happy to pop over to check on the fur babies during meal breaks during the day. I most likely will not bring the pets to my home, but if taking them to a dog park or somewhere else is requested I feel fine to do so if they are used to the car/ have some sort of leash or restraint in the car to keep them safe. In a client’s home I will do my best to follow the rules and routines that they typically do with their pets, and will make sure to avoid any food allergies with treats and such, and most likely not let them off leash unless recall is really good. I like to make sure they’re safe in all ways!

About: Just FYI -- I was inactive in 2023 while we were planning our wedding, but I'm excited to be back and to take care of your pets! I've taken care of pets since I was young. My family had cats growing up, and many of my friends had dogs and cats that I would help them take care of when needed! I love animals so much and they're such a joy to be around. We adopted our dog, Mako, in 2022, and so I'm very aware of the work, constant attention, and stimulation they need in their youngest days and months. The first initial months with a puppy can be a challenge as you wait to get them up-to-speed on their vaccinations, and I'd be more than willing to watch, puppy sit, or play with them if you need a break! Now that Mako is in her teenage phase, I'm well versed in the unique challenges and joys this age brings! If you have a dog that requires more structure/training, I'm able to provide that service too! We've put in a lot of time and work into our girl to make sure she is set up for success, confident, and guide her through facing her fears or anxieties. If you have a dog that is fearful, anxious, or reactive, let's chat! I'd be happy to talk with you about this to make sure you are also comfortable with your dog's caretaker. There isn't anything that we haven't experienced with our own pets, and I'm able to do anything you need to make sure your pet is as comfortable as they are in their home while you're away (e.g., administer medicine, bathe, walk, play, provide supplements, ear drops, eye drops, etc). I can't wait to love your pet! I work full-time with an extremely flexible schedule as I primarily work from home. I have plenty of time to play and walk with your pups! I'm available for house sitting, walks, drop-in visits on most weekdays and weekends. I stay in constant communication with you while I care for your pet! Please let me know of their routine, any areas of your home to avoid with your dog, and behaviors they may exhibit that I should be aware of and to help address while I am watching them (e.g., if you were to have a package delivered while I am house sitting your dog, do they bark or get nervous? Is there anything you typically do in these moments?)

“Alyeska was a student of mine at Syracuse University. Because she was so dependable and efficient, I asked her to take care of our three dogs (two Dachshunds and a Sheltie) while my wife and I were out-of-town. Alyeska was a excellent caretake: she was on time; she sent us text pictures of our dogs on a regular basis: she was careful with our house and our belongings. We certainly would have continued to use her services except that she graduated (with honors, of course). We recommend her highly!”
