“Our first 2 experiences with Rylee were great! She came over to walk our energetic golden retriever and he was spoiled with a walk and treats. We will be booking Rylee again!”

“Guiselle took great care of Lola! She was prompt and very responsive and sent lots of photos. She also took Lola on different routes every walk which I’m sure made Lola very happy to have some new scenery to check out! We would use her again and highly recommend her!”

“We’ve been working with Jennifer for over a month now, and she has been absolutely amazing! She’s incredibly communicative and so flexible with my unpredictable schedule—I can book her a few days in advance, and she always accommodates. Since we just moved from Kansas, my dogs have had a tough time adjusting, especially one who has anxiety, but Jennifer handles them with such care and kindness. Both my girls are so comfortable with her—she’s truly a gem! I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Love Anne!!! She is always so understanding and constantly helps us when we are in a bind. Amazing dog walker and is so understanding of changes in plans!”

“Noah has been great with our dog Toph, who can be a handful. He’s very responsive and follows our detailed instructions well. We are thankful to have his help.”

“McKenna was great to work with! She took great care of our dog and was very responsive throughout the whole process. I highly recommend her and would be happy to work with her again.”

“Dominique had great communication with me about our dog Lincoln. He’s got a positive and professional demeanor. Our dog is a big boy (125 lbs ) and Dominique handled him with ease. Lincoln instantly connected with Dominique, not something he always does with strangers. Dominique most definitely has a way with dogs. His interaction and care was as if Lincoln was his own pet. Dominique’s communication with me was great up to meeting and during the interaction with our boy. Very amicable person. I will use Dominque again.”

“Jessie took great care of my bulldog, Dozer, who can be stubborn at times! She is detail-oriented and followed all instructions for his midday walk. I will gladly rebook!”

About: My first "real job" was being a dog walker, where I would walk a cocker spaniel named Gonzo after school for 3 years. Since then I have dog and cat sat for neighbors through the years, both for short weekend trips and for longer multi-week trips requiring me to house sit as well. I fostered my first kitten for a month while in college, and helped foster over 30 cats and kittens during the pandemic since I had a little extra time on my hands. Over the past two years I have been pet/house sitting most months. I have watched everything from one dog or one cat for 4 days, to two cats and a dog for 2.5 weeks. I've watched puppies and kittens from 4 weeks old and on, and dogs and cats as old as 14 years. The actual breeds have been all over the place, but in terms of dog size I've watched everything from small terriers and daschhounds to huge labs and german shepherds. In addition to owning and caring for a goldendoodle for 11 years, I've also done a lot of pet sitting for my parents 6 year old rescue hound/lab mix and 4 year old rescue short-haired cat. While watching your dog(s) or cat(s) I would rearrange my schedule as needed to prioritize giving most of my attention to your pet(s). I work remote and generally have a flexible schedule, so I could feed/walk/care for your pet(s) following whatever schedule they are used to. I don't work on the weekends and would be able to dedicate any needed time on weekends to caring for your pet(s)! I am happy to care for your pet in your home the same way you typically do so that they maintain the same routine. Whether that means letting your dog(s) out in a fenced backyard, taking them for neighborhood or trail walks, going to a dog park, or following standard crate rules. Similarly for cats, I am happy to maintain the same feeding schedule, whether it's wet or dry food, and clean the litter box regularly. And of course, give your pets all the scratches and attention they want!
About: I have experience taking care of dogs of all different kinds from a young age! I have a strong love and appreciation for all dogs and their unconditional love. I was an elementary school teacher for 8 years so patience, organization and an intense sense of care are my strongest skills. I am currently in the process of finding a new remote job and am home during the week and most weekends! I love to walk and having a buddy to come with me would make my day. My hours and days are pretty flexible ♥️ I live in an apartment with plenty of outside space around the building to take any pups outside to play with. I don’t have any pets at home so your pet will have my full undivided attention 🤍
“Brenna is awesome! She does a great job walking Daisy. She’s super responsive, and takes the time to understand your dogs needs and keeps you updated on how things went! Will definitely have her walk Daisy again”

“Our Ollie absolutely loves Daniel! From the moment he walked in for the meet and greet they hit it off great! Daniel is very punctual, dependable and communicative. I absolutely trust him with my leash temperamental dog and looking forward to more lunch time adventures for them.”

“This was my dog’s first walk with Youlee. My dog was nervous at first but when she came home she was so happy! Youlee was on time and sent lots of photos and videos. I’ll definitely hire her again.”

“Holly is FANTASTIC! She always keeps you informed, and Kylo was so happy with the wonderful walks she gave him. She was always on time and I truly recommend her 100%!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and have always had a deep love for animals! One of my favorite things about pet sitting for my neighborhood growing up was getting to know each pet’s unique personality and what makes them special. I’m a dependable, caring, and communicative pet sitter who understands how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I’ll keep you updated with photos, messages, and timely communication, so you can see how much fun we’re having! Whether your dog loves long adventures or quick neighborhood walks, I’m happy to match their energy. I also enjoy playtime and giving plenty of attention and affection. After a fun day/walk together, they’ll be ready for a well earned pup nap! I work from home 3 days a week and am flexible on timing, so seeing your pup throughout the day or for a lunchtime walk is no problem at all! I am almost always local on the weekends as well. I focus on keeping your dog’s routine as consistent and comfortable as possible! I know pets feel most at ease in familiar surroundings, so I’ll follow your instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any specific preferences your pet may have. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, while making sure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’ll also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“Julia was a pleasure! Gray was super happy and relaxed. She booked us super last minute as well during some super hot weather. We will definitely have Gray spend time with her again!”

“Al was super patient with our dog who’s scared of new people. He took her on her favorite walking route and she was a happy girl when she came home. Looking forward to more walks and stays with Al so our girl can make a new human friend!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Jessie did a great job checking up on Nero. We just returned to the office and he’s getting used to a new schedule and a new climate. She remembered his quirks and was very attuned to his needs and moods. I felt really confident he was in good hands! I would absolutely hire Jessie again in the future :)

Christine did a great job on pretty short notice. She followed our instructions well and -- most importantly -- read Obi's body language and demeanor to make sure he had a productive outing while not pushing it in the heat. He was very happy when we got home, and it was clear he had a wonderful visit from Christine, who gave him some additional attention in the house since the weather outside was not ideal for a longer outing. Definitely hope to use Christine again in the future and would recommend her for others!

We had an excellent experience with Trinity. She was kind, friendly, punctual, and consistently kept us updated, which gave no us great peace of mind while we were away. We have three dogs, each with very different personalities and needs, and Trinity took the time to get to know each of them individually. She carefully followed our instructions and ensured they were comfortable and well cared for throughout her visits. Our dogs clearly enjoyed her company, and it was evident that she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. We felt completely confident leaving them in her care and would highly recommend her.

Savonna has been incredibly attentive, patient, and caring with my UBER attention-seeking pups! From the very beginning, Rocco and Bella responded so well to her, and she quickly put them at ease while I was away. She kept me informed of every walk, communicated any concerns promptly, and was flexible whenever schedule adjustments were needed. Her professionalism, reliability, and genuine care gave me complete peace of mind knowing my babies were in great hands. I would absolutely book with Savonna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet caregiver. We are so grateful for her outstanding care and professionalism. With heartfelt thanks from RnB (Rocco & Bella) and HuMom Dana! 🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
