About: *Please read Summertime walking policy under “Safety, trust & environment” below before booking a walk. Thank you! I have life long experience with pets, including kittens and senior dogs and cats. I have also fostered cats in the past. I have cared for senior animals with medical and behavioral conditions, and I will provide your fur baby with the love and attention they deserve. I’m PCI insured and am happy to care for pets other than cats or dogs! I work from home on a flexible schedule, so I am able to go on walks or visit your baby during the work day so you can feel peace of mind knowing they’re being cared for. **Important Summer Walk Policy ☀️🐾** As temperatures rise in the DMV, your pup's safety and comfort are my top priorities! * When temperatures exceed 90°F, walks will be limited to 15–20 minutes to help prevent overheating. The remainder of the booked visit will be spent indoors playing, providing enrichment, and making sure your dog stays comfortable. * For brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds, such as Bulldogs, Pugs, and French Bulldogs, I will provide potty breaks only during extreme heat and spend the rest of the visit indoors. * I always bring a cooling bandana and portable water bowl to help keep your dog comfortable during warm-weather visits. If your dog needs a longer walk, I recommend booking an earlier morning time slot when temperatures are lower. Feel free to reach out, and we can discuss the best option for your pup! Thank you for helping me keep your furry family members safe this summer. 🐶❤️ I am happy to come to your home to look after your pet, feed them, take them on a walk, play with them, cuddle, or just give them attention and love! Safety is a big priority to me, so I will ensure your pet is probably attended to.
“I chose Aimee based on her reviews: I was nervous about leaving my three senior cats (one is special needs) for a few days and told Aimee. She helped relieve my anxiety by sending me her detailed notes and photos from each visit. I am so pleased with Aimee’s excellent care of my cats.”

“Spencer and Julia were fantastic! They were super flexible for a meet and greet before completing a drop in visit for me. During the visit, they messaged me when they arrived, made sure to leave a note about how my dog did, and reassured me that they had locked the doors back when they left — all without me asking first. They sent multiple pictures and went above and beyond what I had asked them to do to care for my pup! Can’t recommend them highly enough!”

“Ameera was fantastic! I looked forward to her cute reports, which felt like little stories from the day. Through the pictures and videos she sent, I could tell my cat was truly happy playing with her. It gave me such peace of mind while traveling. Exceptional care for the furry ones ✨”

“Thank you for everything! You’ve been so great with Rosie and I appreciate your pictures, videos, and detailed summary of the visit. I would definitely have you back.”

“Maggie took excellent care of my cats while I was gone, keeping me updated and attentive to their needs. I will definitely hire her again for my cat sitting needs!”

“Tara did a great job looking after my cat during Thanksgiving! She made sure my girl got tons of love, provided detailed updates, and was very communicative.”

“Guiselle was amazing! Our rottie named Ozzy was so well taken care of, and unlike other Rover’s in the past, Guiselle not only wanted to take care of Ozzy but find games in his room that would mentally stimulate him! She’s amazing, and we can’t wait to use her services again. Thanks Guiselle!”

“Aly has consistently showed up for us when we need her most! She treats our pup well and is thorough in her reports for how our dog is doing. We appreciate her so much & recommend highly!”

“We needed someone on short notice and Alexandria responded immediately. She was friendly, easy to communicate with, and made the process stress-free. She was great with our 8-month-old rescue, Poppy, who’s still adjusting and can be reactive on leash. Alexandria was patient and understanding, handling Poppy thoughtfully. We loved the photos and report card after each visit and would definitely book Alexandria again—Poppy would be happy to see her too!”

“Paul took great care of our two cats while we were away. He asked good questions, made sure he knew everything he needed to, was very courteous, and made sure we got regular updates. We felt completely at ease and confident that our cats were well taken care of. I would recommend Paul to any potential clients.”

“Alexandra did a great job looking after our cat over the weekend. He is a bit older and needs a pill twice a day and it was no problem for her. Hank was well fed and taken very good care of.”
“Tiffanie was wonderful! She provided detailed notes and lots of pics. My cats tend to be a bit shy/anxious when I’m gone but they seemed to warm up to her quickly :) def will rebook with her in the future.”

“My cat Hannah was well taken care of and in good hands while I was away! Lisa gave great drop-in visits and left Rover cards to keep me updated. Thanks for a reliable service!”

“Maria was amazing checking in on our dog while we were gone all day! I asked her to come for four 30-minute trips and she came at all of the requested times and took our dog on four good walks - and he can be a stubborn walker! She was very responsive and provided good updates. We just rescued our dog a couple of weeks ago, and this was our first time leaving him for such a long period, but I was completely at ease. I will definitely be hiring Maria again! And I know our dog will be glad to see her!”

“Jennifer did an incredible job caring for our cat! She was thoroughly communicative, kind, and attentive to our cat's needs. She's professional and respectful and we highly recommend her!”

“Emili really helped me out watching my cats last minute on a holiday weekend. She offered a meet-and-greet, but my schedule wouldnt allow. Regardless, she followed my instructions perfectly and I felt my cats were well cared for. I'm glad I booked Emili and recommend her to others.”

“Drew was great with my “quirky” dogs while I was out of town. She took great care of them. She was on time, provided photos, kept me informed, etc. I would definitely use Drew again in the future.”

Phenomenal cat sitter! Even my shyest kitty warmed right up to her on the first visit. I appreciated her reliability and attention to detail. She incorporated each of my cats’ playtime/attention preferences into everyday care. She was also easy to communicate and coordinate with.

Teaghan was a great sitter during her drop-ins for my cat! She was timely, attentive, and told me promptly when she saw my cat had thrown up on her last visit. She was flexible with my cat’s needs and was very friendly. I would absolutely rebook if I was out of town again.

Maia is definitely my cats' favorite pet sitter. It's clear from her pics and updates that she really got to know them. Usually they act out a little while we're away, and there was none of that. I can tell they were very happy and well taken care of. I would absolutely want to work with Maia again.

We are so grateful for Megan! She took wonderful care of our cats while we were away. She was incredibly reliable, followed all of our care instructions perfectly, and sent daily photo that gave us total peace of mind. We highly recommend her and will absolutely be booking with her again!
Richard communicates extremely well and took great care of my cat while I was out of town. His pictures, videos, and report cards reassured me that my pet was in great hands. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone to check in on their pet while away, and I would definitely book again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
